Looks like it is going to be an extremely hot weekend for everyone in the midwest, east coast, and south starting tomorrow lasting thru the weekend.

They are predicting a temperature of 96 here in Cleveland on both Friday and Saturday with heat index of 109+

If you have to be working outside definitely stay hydrated and be safe as heat stroke is not something to mess around with. (Believe me I know as it happened to me)

Unfortunately I have to be outside most of the day Friday ... looks to be a freaking killer of a day ... get the water ready

It is so hot here in Virginia you can fry an egg by having a chicken cross the road!

Hot here, going to get worse. Plus, 4" of rain last night. Just a small swath, but apparently my home was the dumping point.

Yard flooded, as were neighbors yards. 6-7 foot deep ditch across the road was almost overflowing. Couple of neighbors down the road, with drives that go over the ditch, had water flowing over the drives. Looked like rapids.

And, hotter tomorrow, and hotter yet FRiday.

At least the humidity is, well, I could probably take a shower outside in just the humidity.

Try owning a Husky in the Deep South.

They lay on the AC vents.

107 degrees in SE AZ today.

Swamp coolers don't work so well once afternoon monsoons start for the summer.

Best thing to do is lay low, watch the dark clouds come over the mountains and drink water.

That would bit a bit difficult for my boys, the vents are in the ceiling.

We had a Husky once. Once. their breed is better suited to Siberia. Which is odd, as ours was a Siberian Husky.

As I tell people, the bad weather months around here are early June through mid September. It's low 90's every day with high humidity, and that's when it isn't even "really" hot.

I love living in SE Tennessee, but summer sucks. I'll take a normal 50° high February day, any day. And those are mostly normal.

I love sweatshirt weather.

It was 101 degrees w/a dew point of 73 today in Columbia the last time I checked my weather instruments.

Freaking brutal!

Btw folks, it's the dew point that makes you uncomfortable. Everyone says it's the humidity and they are somewhat similar, but it's the dew point that is the killer.

It hasn't been that bad this year [relatively speaking.] We had hot days, but the dew point was lower than normal.
But, this week has been brutal.

Yes you are right and I apologize and won't post much moving forward. I just thought it was a good heads up for everyone as having a heat stroke is a real thing as I had one.

I never notice a difference in Summer heat in GA.

Only sometimes the humidity is worse, depending if it rained or not.

But, I guess I'm used to it.

I did have fam who tried to live here, but they didnt like it, and left back to NY.

I find it odd.

Because NY has way more lush forests than GA. I think they must have way more rain. GA is more like dry heat 6/7 days of the week. We had droughts for a long time.

Hey Miller.....Jules is a tough old bird, but she's has a great heart. Don't let that get to you.

You seem like a nice guy and you are welcome here. Keep posting. Your takes are appreciated.

It might be wise to develop a thicker skin, though. Hang in there, my man!!!!

Hahaha. I was just testing you out to see how you handled a tiny nudge. Very disappointing!!

I am not a fan of hot and humid weather. This is the first time I’ve spent the summer in Ohio in years. Not impressed!

I don't know about dew points and what not. What I do know is I put a pump in our front yard. Walked through over my ankle water to place it.

And when I got done, I had sweat everywhere........just as it is with my job. This kind of weather sucks the life out of me.

Gotta have about 16 layers of tough skin around here, at least at times. laugh

Hey Jules-I know you are from Dayton and I am as well as I as graduated from Butler High School and believe me I have very thick skin as I was surrounded by Bengal fans growing up.

Reading your posts thru the years I have always enjoyed and you are definitely a person I would love to meet and sit and have a beer with.

Yes! The moccasins are on my feet 80 percent of the time. Haha.

I went to Centerville, so we definitely grew up in the same area. Believe me, I get what you mean about the Bengals fans!!

Normally, here in the PNW July is when the clouds part and the sun comes out until at least mid Oct., but recently it's been as late as Halloween. The clouds then form again around Nov. 1 and we go into our rainy season. It can get hot up here too, just not as humid as the midwest/south east coast. We can have the odd stretch of very hot, dry 90s-100 degree days, but this year it's been unseasonably cool and we have had a decent amount of rain this July (.78" so far this month, which is much more than normal). That said, looking ahead at our forecast it looks like it's going to dry up and the heat will arrive as of this weekend.

I wonder if the PNW being colder in the summer means something about the winter upcoming in America

Who knows. They say it is an unusually strong jet stream that has brought cooler air in from the sea. The warmer air in the South, however, is going to push it out this weekend.
