If in wrong forum, please move.
With the trade of Frye to Seattle, it now poses only one question: When will Quinn start. I don't see Anderson lasting the season under center. Looking at the schedule, I can see him starting October 28th against Saint Louis after the bye. That means his first home start would be ironically enough against Seattle on November 4th
The latest I can see him in the huddle would be November 25th at home against Houston.

I don't know if it's in the wrong forum, but it's already being discussed in at least 3 other threads....

I think we may start him against the Raiders, at the earliest.
I want the Cleveland Browns to be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the last time.

Hey guys, do we want to win? Then start Quinn this week. He is the best NFL QB this team has. It was evident in preseason and I don't think things have changed. He has poise, confidence and ability. What more do you need?

How about knowing the playbook? I want to win, but I want to win for years to come and I'm not willing to roll the dice on that for a couple of games right now.

Well ... I am on record with my feeling that if Quinn is ready to be the primary backup, and one snap away from being on the field anyway ..... then he's ready to be the starter.

Does he not know the playbook? ......I have yet to hear from anybody in the organization that he doesn't. All I've heard is Heiden say he feels BQ is ready.
That's the most reliable source up to this point that's hinted in anyway his "readiness"
RAC doesn't really say much and PS is worried about another T. Couch situation,....which I'm not totally convinced applies here.

For about the 50th time, it has been WIDELY reported that Quinn doesn't know all of the playbook and that is why Dorsey was brought back to speed up his learning process. It was stated that there was no way Quinn would start Sunday because they would have to scale down the playbook too much because Quinn didn't have a full grasp of it.

Prior to all this mess I was thinking the best time to bring in Quinn would be Nov25th against the Texans.
Might be real earlier now. Considering how this is being handled I can't see how one can take any guess . . .

Coach do you remember what we did when Bernie had to start in place of danielson??
Very vanilla.....thats the only way I can see Quinn starting before the phins game barring injry.
I still feel that with his skills BQ knowing 50% of the plays is better than DA knowing 100%.
I didnt see anything very exotic last week other then MAYBE the reverse to Cribbs.

If that was a maximized playbook last Sunday, well maybe a more simple version would be helpful.
We couldn't hardly even get a punt off!

SIGH, ok I will explain it yet again. WKNR had 3 reporters quoting sources, WTAM reported it, and WRGM reported it.

Do you remember that when Bernie replaced Danielson we had a Pro Bowl at each tackle, 2 excellant guards and Mike Baab at center and they had time to gel and work as a unit, not to mention 2 RBs with that gained over 1,000 yards?

I don't know the answer, but I don't want him on the field until that dang line learns to play together as a unit,, tell me how long that will take, and then you'll know that it's time to start Quinn

You are CORRECT SIR!
And Phil named him back up today!

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Coach I was asking a question, and yes I do.
I just happen to think that he isnt as far away from being ready as you think that is all. No attack here man.

Here ya go YTown..................... Phil named Quinn the back up. Hope ATTACK can stand the shock! Derek (Anderson) is the starter, Brady (Quinn) is the No. 2 and Ken (Dorsey) will help them both in the classroom,'' said Savage at an afternoon press briefing. http://blog.cleveland.com/sports/2007/09/report_says_cleveland_browns_h.html

Why do they need help in the classroom? After I stated that Quinn wasn't ready with that aspect of the game, Calzone said that couldn't possibly be true.

Anybody see Anderson's game dramatically changing from week one to two?
He'll be on the spit being flamed this time next week and the Brady chants will increase threefold!

According to what phil said, they will BOTH get help in the classroom from Dorsey.
Now since they BOTH need help in the classroom, that sort of equals things out in "knowing the playbook and O" doesn't it?
So the only question left,is which of the two is the better QB.

Nah. Phil already named Quinn the back up. Which means if Anderson screws the pooch,it Quinn's time.
If you don't think a guy is ready for the field, you don't make him the back up.
By making him the back up,you're already putting him "one snap away" from starting. An injury can happen one any snap in any game. Then Quinns the guy.
You don't do that if you don't think he's ready to take the field. Quinns time will come much sooner than later. The events of today make that picture perfectly clear.

How long till Quinn starts?
My mind says not til after the bye...I cringe at the thought of playing Baltimore and New England (ESPECIALLY New England).
But I get chills thinking of Quinn playing immediately...the good chills.
I still think he's the best QB on our roster right now. As in we could line up tomorrow with Quinn only knowing so much of the offense and get more out of him than we would DA, but at the same time...if it hurts his future development I wouldn't want to compromise that...

If the BOTH need help in the classroom how come Phil said DA has the stronger arm and that they can NOW use the ENTIRE playbook.
Phil must have lied again...

Now I am not going to start on this he said she said stuff, but the on ting I so know which is not much is that DA as bad a he is can read defenses, and thats why I think he ended up staying. Now with that being said Quinn will most likely start after the bye in my opinion. Everybody needs to take a chill pill on this board. This is getting to be a sad state. We know Quinn is the guy of the future, everyone sit back and take a breather, come back tommorrow.

Reading and comprehension problems? He was referring to the ARM STRENGTH of DA. He wasn't talking even REMOTELY about Quinn. Then again, actually dealing with reality doesn't seem your strong suit.

After just listening to Phil here, I think they are just taking their time with Brady until he has a good understanding of a good amount of the playbook... more than the token few sets of plays that he had in preseason. If he had that command of the playbook now, I think he'd already be #1. There is no mistake though, the Brady Quinn timetable HAS been accellerated as of today. Phil hinted at it after Sunday's game, we see now that he wasn't kidding. I think Brady's time is coming just as soon as he shows he is ready for it... and that is probably a LOT closer than most think. With what happened today, I would be willing to bet, depending on how horribly Anderson does, that Brady's time comes BEFORE the Bye Week. Brady has been elevated to #2 which means he is getting more and more reps in practice now to speed up his development. They are still wanting to bring him along properly and not send him out before he's fully prepared, but that pace has been given a shot of adrenaline.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
