July 25th is the hottest day of the year on average in the northern hemisphere. (that’s where we live, Einstein)
An average of daily high temps over 100+ years (since man has had precise thermometers and took and recorded daily temps)
A noteworthy day of the year. A day worth celebrating. A day to contemplate our place in the universe. A day to right cosmic injustice. A day to drink lot's of ice cold beer.
After today, the average daily temperature drops until the coldest day of the year - January 25th.
It was fun while it lasted. It’s all downhill from here. Might as well break-out the parka.
nice sheepskin
I can't think of a good name for the holiday. "Hot Day" doesn't cut it for me.
That may be for the Hemisphere. Here in the south it doesn't get all that cold to balance out the hot days as quickly. My guess here would be early Sept as it is still hitting in the 90's the early part of the month.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

The PacNW tends to have its heat come later in the season too. It’s barely been in the 80’s so far this year. Today is probably the hottest it’s been all summer, a balmy 87. By mid August I expect we’ll have had some stretches in the 90’s to low 100’s.

June 11 & 12th have been our hottest days of 2019 thus far (both days were 98), but that wasn't technically summer. But, as Portland says other than today (expected to get to 90) it has been a great summer. Very cool evenings and not too hot. I suspect August and part of September will heat up tho!
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
Went down to Gatlinburg for work and decided to drive down and bring the wife. Gatlinburg is a horrible place but that another story. Coming back we took the Blueridge parrkway. One mountain we went over was 55 degrees. My wife bitched the whole way because she was cold. i was gonna throw her off the mountain but apparently the Blue Ridge people frown on that.

No, July 25th is the high for all the U.S.
Think of it this way:
According to you, where you live, September 1st might be the hottest day of the year on average.
Three months after September 1st is December 1st.
Three months before September 1st is June 1st.
Of course, there is no where on earth where June 1st and December 1st have the same average daily temperature.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
The past three mornings have been much cooler ... almost feeling fall approaching in the distance
