This post is EXACTLY what I was speaking about in a different thread.

Thank you for showing EXACTLY what I'm talking about. The left has no answer for anything other than "racist trump, and we'll give you free stuff, too."

Not going to try and figure out what's at the bottom of your discussion with OCD ... however, I'd say it's particularly weak to suggest that your discussion with OCD represents the entire "Left".

Well, I agree. Which is odd, because certain posters on here, EVERY DAY, blame trump for unbelievable stuff. And then, they start with the 'you voted for him, so YOU believe the same' crap.

It gets old, really.

The whole "he calls people names" crap.........when they turn around and blatantly do the same. But they attempt to justify it by saying "Yeah, but, I'm not the president."

Screw that.

I stand by what I said: The lies the left are spewing are probably hurting them more than they know. At least, with educated voters. I'm damn serious - the race card has been way, way over played. People in the heartland are seeing this.

Have a few people on facebook that post idiotic things, multiple times daily that, do, have a germ of truth to them. But the rest is so unreal it's.......get this: unreal.

Just like a few posters on here.

The race card has been played so much it sounds like "The Bot Who cried Wolf. That's why when you have someone that is actually spreading the racial divide, a lot of people won't listen.

It's not just race, it's every subgroup of peoples, divided by sex, sexual orientation, class, race and literally anything that can be used to separate one person from the next. A constant rag of "you're bigoted" has been going on for a 3 decades now. It has led to the lowest scum of the earth, pedophiles, trying to carve out their own victimhood.

At first people were like "oh my god, am I really being racist?" and now people are like "Nah, you're not only wrong but also a jerk for calling me that with any proof". I personally have time and time again denounced Trump's idiocy, but the moment I'm like "I think you're being petty" I'm a racist Trumpian. Call it what you want, that behavior is not "progressive".

I completely agree. Using extreme rhetoric, labels, and generalizations is very popular among the right-wing, fascist, racist, Nazis... glad the left doesn't do that.

I agree to some extent ... i hear the racism card too much. For example - calling Baltimore a bunghole and rat infested wasn't racist (was it what I want my Pres to be doing? Not close) ... telling women go back to their own countries purely on the basis of the color of their skin ... something I'd never let my kid say to anyone ... that was 100% racist.

I think the shooting in El Paso is a tipping point. I think the opposition politicians to Trump, having tip toed around his questionable attacks for 2+ years, are going to call Trump out for his history of derogatory comments aimed at Hispanics, Mexicans, '[censored] hole countries', the fine people on both sides of a White Supremacy rally and protesters ... the propaganda that the USA is under an invasion from rapists and drug dealers.... I don't expect those quotes from Trump and his actions to be out of the headlines anytime soon - and honestly I don't have a problem with that. That's who Trump is. Not sure if you saw it in full or if you can - but Biden was pretty scathing today and I agree with what he said and how he couched the debate.

I guess what we need to make sure doesn't happen is for the radicals on the far far left or the far far right do not dictate or dominate the discussion points.

But if you aren't in one of those two groups you are a spineless, gutless, apathetic, fence sitting, moderate.. and if there is one thing this country absolutely doesn't need, it's people in the middle trying to see both sides and facilitate cooperation.. We need more senseless screeching damn it.. SCREECH LOUDER!!!!!!!! and your side will win.

Stop acting as if it doesn’t work.

We have evidence after evidence saying the side that tries the hardest wins.

MAGA hatters screeched the loudest and got their president and republican controlled congress. Progressives screeched and got control of the house.

When you vote, guess what you do? You PICKED a side.

I see the moderates are back on their participation trophy nonsense again. Yay.

So basically, you crap your pants then don't want people to say you stink... got it. You'd rather live in denial.

Trump is a racist, a bigot, and fascist... if you associate yourself with that then you should expect that. There are no falsehoods or lies there, just facts.

I never said it doesn't work.. it's probably the most effective way to get somebody elected, screech about irrational fears and scare the crap out of the largest number of people.. it also causes great divides among the people and you end up with the kind of elected officials we've had for a long time...

So is your ideal end result to get people elected or to have a functioning government and a populace that doesn't hate each other?

I'd say we should worry about functional when Trump is gone and the right comes to its senses again. Until then, I'm good with a far left government dragging republicans back toward true center.

That’s a purely subjective question with no clear answer, because that’s based on the individuals view on the government depending on who’s running it.

If you ask a Reagan supporter about the Reagan years, they might be prone to say the government functioned fine under his leadership. You ask a obama support the same question, you’re most likely to get the same answer. Ask a liberal about Bush administration or a conservative about the Obama administration as far as functioning, and happy birthday.

Which means that Ques has zero to do with my comment.

When you vote, DC, you are effectively choosing a side. When you don’t vote, you’re letting others decide for you. You can be a mod all you want, fencing riding, but st the end of the day, if you don’t make a decision, others will be happy to do it FOR you, regardless of your opinion on what’s functioning or not.

Same freaking thing I told the Bernie bros when that sat on the couch in 2016. I have my views and I’m voting for the candidate that closely represents them.

If you have a problem with that.....stay home like you did in 2016.

40 and I will make the decision for you.

In 2020, I'm on the get Trump out side, period. I'd love to vote for Bernie or Liz, but I'm definitely voting against Trump. I'd vote for Pee Wee Herman over Trump. Even one of the centrist corporate schills, will get my vote.

At least I did it in jest. But it does kind of remind me of you in a way.

I mean you know I'm going to vote for a Democrat in 2020. I may not be happy with the nominee but Trump doesn't really leave me a choice. And some of the time you make it sound like I'm the problem.

You are and will always be cool with me. But we are allowed to have opinions and get in the dirt to play some days. Truth is I care about a lot of the guys I bash in here too. I worried for Arch's kid during her surgery. And I worried about 40 drinking bathtub gin.

I don't really have a problem with getting down in the dirt. I treat people pretty much the way they treat me. But I try pretty hard not to alienate those who might help me reach my goals.

Stating facts is not hate. You can hate what people do. You can hate what people say. But that doesn't mean you hate them. But labeling someone as hating Trump is a convenient way of avoiding admitting or discussing the hateful, divisive things he says to splinter our nation and tear us all apart which he does consistently.

People who are willing to stand and protest with Nazi's and white supremacists are not "fine people".

Lol at the nra, gun nuts, and a good portion of republicans. Your control ideology is pathetically antiquated.

You don’t get to use words like, “shocked” after mass shootings. If you are shocked by now, you obviously have your head in the sand. You guys are pathetic, and should all be ashamed of yourselves. Fight for your second amendment rights, in a pool of blood.

Here's the full transcript from what you like to call a Left Source ... https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter...-sides-remarks/

No Trump was clear about who he was referring to when he talked about fine people on both sides. That's true.

But he spent an awful lot of time making a false equivalency that the protesters of the White Supremacists were as bad as the White Supremacists ... and my goodness they didn't have a permit to protest! Pfft.

Additionally on your little propaganda video - there are no quotes or factual data - just the one commentators spin on everything. So when he says Trump condemned the White Supremacists and the racists .... No he didn't - not really. What Trump did was say in passing that he has condemned those parties previously .... he doesn't spend time, a paragraph or even a sentence vilifying, denouncing or stating that those sentiments are disgusting and nothing for which America should stand or associate itself with .... He missed an opportunity to set the table, to tell the world how those White Supremacists have no place in a civilized world .... but no, instead he spends multiple sentences, multiple paragraphs trying to say the protesters who were there to shout down the hatred of the White Supremacists were as bad or worse than the Supremacists.

Trump promotes views of a criminologist who says there’s no evidence of a mass-shooting ‘epidemic’

President Trump, who has vowed to push Congress to pass legislation in response to massacres this month in Texas and Ohio, on Thursday promoted the views of a criminologist who argued this week that there is no evidence that the United States is experiencing an “epidemic” of mass shootings.

On Twitter, Trump shared a message that linked to an interview with Northeastern University criminologist James Alan Fox, who shared his views in a podcast broadcast Wednesday by Reason, a libertarian publication.

In the interview, Fox said that although the number of mass shootings has risen in recent years, there are too few to draw a clear trend line. He accused the media of causing unnecessary panic.

“There is no evidence that we are in the midst of an epidemic of mass shootings,” Fox told interviewer Nick Gillespie.

The tweet that Trump shared providing a link to the interview was written by Fox News Channel host Laura Ingraham. It was among a spate of retweets by Trump on Thursday morning on varied subjects.

The White House did not immediately respond to a question about what message Trump was trying to convey by sharing the tweet.

In an email to The Washington Post on Thursday, Fox said he was not suggesting that nothing be done about gun violence.

“The big problem is the 11,000 victims killed annually by gunfire,” he said.

In the wake of the recent mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, Ohio, that killed 31 people, Trump has vowed to push Republicans to embrace legislation that would strengthen background checks for gun buyers and persuade the National Rifle Association to drop its long-standing opposition to such measures.

Last week, Trump told reporters at the White House that conversations in recent days had yielded strong congressional support for “very meaningful background checks” and that his party, which has stymied gun-control efforts this year by Democrats, would take the lead in passing legislation after returning from an August recess.

“I think Republicans are going to be great and lead the charge, along with the Democrats,” Trump said.

He continued to express support for stronger background checks when speaking to reporters on Tuesday in New Jersey.

According to a Post analysis published this month, four or more people have been killed in a mass shooting every 47 days, on average, since June 17, 2015. That was the evening a young white supremacist killed nine people during a Bible study at a historic African American church in Charleston, S.C.
