I think trading Higgins would be a mistake ... I can see him being here a long time; maybe even beyond Landry or OBJ.
I think trading Schobert would be a mistake, but a bit more understandable considering his contract’s expiration and position
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I could see Calloway ... he has a ton of talent and could be stud but the 2 cent head would make him a viable option if i was running the team ... KJ doesn’t seem to care one iota about character ... football ability seems to be al he cares about so i don’t see Calloway going now either ...
I wonder if Braxton Miller was brought in to see how he looks in comparison to Callaway. WR & Returner....keep in mind Callaway was also taking 2nd team reps all camp AND he is suspended. His spot on the team could be in jeopardy. No idea how Miller will look, but I guess we shall find out if he plays against TB. Apples and oranges.

Calloway is way more polished and has more talent at receiver. As for returner, I don't think either is all that good. I can't speak for Miller, but Calloway is like a gazelle. Just a fast glider. A returner needs to be like a rabbit. Able to dart around. They have speed, but speed isn't what makes it hard to catch.

The 2017, or was it 2018 Browns cut Higgans for a couple weeks to begin the season, before bringing him back.

It was 2017. Last year was Bakers 1st year and he and Higgins lit it up when Baker was limited to 2nd and 3rd team QB duties by the powers that at that time captained the sinking ship.
Mutiny on the Brownie was around the corner.

I've been thinking that for the first 8 weeks, we could use D'Ernest Johnson as our returner. After that Kareem Hunt comes back and we can decide whether we keep him or the Tulane RB assuming Chubb is healthy. He was a punt and kick returner for USF (2016 2nd Team All-Conference), and i think he might have had coverage duties also. He's the guy that stood out the most to me verses the Colts. Him and Montgomery. Unfortunately, Montgomery was put on IR

Perhaps we sign another, but with the trade of Duke, we have room for all 4, which most teams keep on their 53 from the RB position.

I look for us to trade some WR and DL depth away this week for depth in other areas or picks for next year.
I doubt anything bg, but most likely guys that we would cut anyway.

I was hoping to open this thread to see news of us acquiring a new OL or two
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Josh Jones was released, I know several on this board liked him...could use that safety depth, but admittingly I havent seen him play.

If anyone would have interest, I bet it’s us given our ties to GB .. we’ll see, but it’d be a great fill in for Peppers’ role .. Randall/Jones both from GB

Reading the GB fans thoughts, he was an attitude/effort problem there ... maybe he’d be different here, but if he’s tha versatile I’d expect Dorsey to give him a shot

The Patriots have signed two players: LB Scooby Wright and RB Robert Martin. They were present at today's practice. https://twitter.com/MikeReiss/status/1165729701542973451

I see no way that Calloway would survive waivers. I do not see him as a return option as a first choice. Is it possible he is trade bait? If we mean what we say about consistency, then I think he is on the bubble.
I bring it up because we certainly have some depth and we certainly have some needy spots. I could easily see Dorsey wrangling some of this for trades, upgrades, and crack filler. This cut down coming must be like a bonus day for him with so much in house already right now.

"Ruh-ro, Raggy!" Lol! Good for Scooby, though, a journeyman LB whom Belichick gives an opportunity.

A couple of thoughts on different posts:
--We don't need another guy w/some character concerns.
--We should keep Callaway, though. His speed is something that was missing the other night.

I hate when a player has great potential and it is never realized.
So many would love to have great talent and the opportunity to use it.
Callaway has all the potential in the world. He has the long speed but also has that short quick speed to gain separation.
I really hope he gets it right and reaches full potential.

I think that every TE not named David Njoku is probably sweating things out right now.

Does anyone think Demetrius Harris is in danger of not making the team? I'm thinking there's one in particular we should not have gotten rid of this offseason. Regarding what's left behind Njoku: I wish Pharoah had stepped up a bit.

I bet we bring in one of the Colt's castoffs. We'll probably keep Harris over Brown, though.

I would think last week showed us we are not as deep at WR as many think. Calloway was missed no time to say good bye yet. But he is on thin ice hope he gets his head together. Strong is ok As is Wilies but without Chub,b OBJ, Landry, Njoku and Calloway we looked very average in talent of course that basically is our entire team with only Higgins a true starter out there for the team.
I don't like bad apples but Calloway is going to be given this last chance. jmho

Sure, Callaway was missed, but his absence certainly wasn't the reason. Even Higgins, our #3, struggled. Mayfield struggled. The OL struggled. The run game struggled. Monken and Kitchens struggled.

Understand the units struggled just that we hae had a history of bottom end WRs and last week reminded me of those days. Not saying to go out and get more talent...I'm saying we are not that GREAT to give up on Calloway is all I'm saying. He is worth the 2nd or 3rd chance...keeping in mind ITS HIS LAST CHANCE as far as I'm concerned.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I think that we have others who are in a battle to make the roster from the position, that we want to get a better look at this week. He could still end up on our PS.

If Harris was brought here to block?
I watched the first half of the Bucs game again.
Harris missed blocks. He didn't just miss them he wiffed horribly.
