Not to mention Harris’ hands leave a lot to be desired. There have to be MANY better than him in the league

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think Harris will probably make the roster but if he doesn't that's a pretty bad misevaluation and a poor use of cap space.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Dean made it back to the PS .. he’s done well enough in camp from what i’ve read

From what I have seen Pharoah Brown deserves to be kept on this squad. DeValve? I will be shocked if he is kept and Brown is cut.

Apparently Jaelen Strong got cut. On the surface, not a fan of this move, TBH.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

We have good depth at the WR position. It is bound to be names we like and hope would stick but numbers wont allow it.
After I looked at the possible cuts I couldn't see a one wanted to see go. They all had done well at times and not so well at times.

Not a fan of cutting Strong. The guy was getting open and catching the ball.

I would take Willies and Ratley over Strong ... JMO

1. Cannot separate
2. Does not play special teams
3. Cheaper alternatives
4. Injury history
5. Damion Ratley
6. Not versatile

Folks get caught up in being fans of the game and at times this clouds vision.

Strong had a good camp, this does not mean is a good WR

The Real/LA? Really?

I like all the info you provide and I am grateful for that, but dawg, it might be wise to share things from reputable sources.

I think this is the thing I don't like about the new tweet feature on the board. Too many amateurish and bogus tweets are being presented as reputable sources and because the format looks "cooler," I bet some folks actually believe that crap.

I think his poor performance with Baker last week probably sealed his fate. I thought he had a good shot to make it, but clearly ST’s is a deciding factor here

Willies had a disappointing camp, which also does not mean he is a good WR.

Strong did NOT have a poor performance last week. He caught the passes that were catchable and he did it in traffic.

Strong is a free agent after this season. Willies and Ratley are under contract (for cheap) for several more years.

I’d disagree with that assessment. He had two passes that hit his hands and then the ground ... and had a miscommunication with Baker on another one.

For a guy who can’t play ST’s or separate/stretch the field, he better catch everything.

I think our signing of Braxton probably spelled the end to him, or Willies, or Ratley (or two of them) ... and it looks like we’re looking for guys with highest ceilings in the group

Strong not playing ST did not help his chances of making the team. I won't be surprised if he catches on elsewhere.

A snippet from The Athletic...

A week ago, it looked and felt like the Browns had an embarrassment of riches at wide receiver. Landry and Beckham are sitting in the preseason because they’re not needed. Rashard Higgins continues to play well but wants back what would have been a spectacular touchdown catch Friday night. Derrick Willies and Jaelen Strong had brutal nights in Tampa, as passes either bounced off their hands or arrived before they were ready — or both. Mayfield and Kitchens were clearly frustrated by the offensive struggles.

Willies certainly didn’t play like he was coming to grab a spot. Strong had been good previously but doesn’t play special teams, and it’s hard to figure what his role might be when Beckham and Landry are playing.

Braxton Miller got in the game in the fourth quarter. He immediately caught two passes from David Blough. It’s still hard to figure how he fits on this roster, but the wide receiver situation as a whole seems a lot less settled than it did even a few days ago

What? I am going to have to rewatch that game because I think a lot of BS is being slung.

Yes...postal when you disagree.

And the takes were spot-on. LA is as connected as one can get with the current regime. He's not dissing Strong...just stating the reality of the situation. He's behind OBJ, JL and Higgins and eventually Callaway without a doubt...he's older than Ratley...as a fifth/sixth guy he better be younger and/or able to play STs.

Two + years ago and Strong is a lock...this isn't two years ago.

I wasn't going "postal." I was expressing my opinion. I wasn't upset. I wasn't irate. I wasn't freaking out. Hell, I was chuckling while typing it because the comments were absurd when taken in their entirety.

Now, I get that it is very important to you to rail against me and get others to follow your lead, but dawg, those comments were not "spot on" and whether you like it or not, I know more about the game than you do.

I will bow out now and leave w/by reiterating that I don't think cutting Strong was a good move, unless he was a locker room problem or has some off the field concerns such as drug usage.

I'm not saying that the cutting of Strong was a 'good' move...just saying that the stated reasons for cutting him are reasonable.

He's not young...he's coming off a season-ending injury...there are guys at WR #5/6 that bring more to the table than he will be given the opportunity to bring.

JD just did him a solid IMO.

I said I would bow out because I was positive your next reply would be full of insults and I don't want to get into that crap. However, you last reply was reasonable. You could be right.

I don't like us cutting him because I thought the dude got open and caught the ball and has that big body I think we need. However, I could be dead wrong.

General question for anyone...

What does it mean "doesn't play special teams"?

It's running and tackling.

Does it really mean doesn't want to? Or sucks at it?

Good question.
I don't know the answer.

Am I perfect? No
Am I trying to be a better person?
Also no

Tough cut.

I liked the guy.

The coaches have been watching every thing every day since OTA's.

They have their reasons.

I wish him good luck and hope he catches on with another team.
