Yeah, I think Tunsil is the better option ... but more expensive and probably less likely
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I heard the Dolphins are going to keep Tunsil and that Stills and Alonso are trade bait. Jones was, but he said the 'Phins assured him he would be w/the team this year.

So, we're going to get Tunsil, Williams, and Clowney, right?
That should fix a thing or two.

I think we should also sign Eric Berry

Here is a hair brained trade idea where we end up with Trent Williams.
BROWNS GET Trent Williams Dolphins 3rd Round Pick
REDSKINS GET Dolphins 2nd Round Pick
TEXANS GET Browns 2nd Round pick Browns Conditional 4th Round pick (from HOU)
DOLPHINS GET Jadaveon Clowney
Cleveland Browns, Space Browns

That's rather exceptionally convoluted. Why wouldn't we just trade give our picks directly to the Skins and skip all the rest?

TRENT WILLIAMS T, WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Holdout Redskins LT Trent Williams said there's "zero chance" he will report for Week 1.
Williams made the comment to ex-teammate DeAngelo Hall. Redskins GM Bruce Allen insisted Wednesday that Williams will play for the team in 2019. Both sides look prepared to go all the way. It's going to be a long time before we see Williams back on the field.

Since he's been brought up on this thread, I'll add this here .... with a Report: Dolphins asking for Jadeveon Clowney, first-round pick, more in exchange for Laremy Tunsil – ProFootballTalk https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20...-laremy-tunsil/If the Houston Texans really, really, really want left tackle Laremy Tunsil, they apparently need to be willing to give the Miami Dolphins an awful to get him. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Texans have discussed sending Clowney and a first-round pick to Miami in exchange for Tunsil. The Dolphins want another high draft pick as well in exchange for their left tackle. Dolphins head coach Brian Flores didn’t exactly shoot down the possibility of a Tunsil trade following the team’s preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints. “There’s no trade in place for him,” Flores said. That doesn’t eliminate the possibility there could be a trade for him eventually. Flores could have said the team is not considering any trade proposals for Tunsil, but he didn’t. Instead, he says there’s no trade currently in place for him at this particular moment in time. The Dolphins have been thought as the most likely destination for Clowney, who hasn’t signed his franchise tag tender as he holds out from the Texans. Houston has had discussions with multiple teams about Clowney with nothing really progressing. However, the Dolphins have been the most visible pursuer of the Texans’ defensive end. The Dolphins locker room apparently wouldn’t take too kindly to Tunsil being dealt. Perhaps the report of such a price tag would send a message that he’s only being moved for a significant return. However, that still wouldn’t alleviate any hurt feelings over losing a starting left tackle right before the regular season begins.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

They just reported that the Dolphins turned down Clowney and a 1st for Tunsil

I've been trying to say for quite some time that acquiring a good LT in a trade is too costly. I think the Browns would be better off upgrading the position in the draft or in FA, should Dorsey think that it's needed. Making a trade for one of these guys is cost prohibitive.

Agreed, especially this close to the season. Better off getting OL in the draft

I've tried to make that exact same point. That and we can get by with Robinson at the position. I'm not thrilled with Robinson but he's not trash.
One poster twisted that into saying I was happy with Robinson and didn't want Williams. Anyone who has even bothered to read this board over the years knows that I am an OL guy.
But there is a point where a trade is cost prohibitive. I would love to have either Williams or Tunsil as our starting LT. It would be a huge upgrade. But people need to remember, a year or two from now we have a lot f players who will be up for new contracts. And we're not going to be able to keep them all. The high draft picks we have coming over the next couple of years will hopefully produce the players that will fill some of those roles.
We can't just give away the future without keeping in mind where we're going.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I will suggest that the Browns will be drafting a lot of OLine and TE next year.
That seems to be the weak link.

I agree ... our DL should be very good until we have to release some of them when Myles gets re-signed. Vernon, Richardson, etc are here for at least two years IIRC

I knew the price would be high, but apparently the two teams are close enough on the deal to fly Clowney out to Miami to take a look see.
Since Clowney himself can void the deal and doesn't seem too enthused about Miami, Miami flew him in to woo him.

What he means to his teammates? Is that a joke?
Dude is refusing to play w/his teammates. He's a freaking headcase that would cost a fortune. Give it up, man.

Dude is refusing to play w/his teammates. He's a freaking headcase that would cost a fortune. Give it up, man. Team doctors botched, or delayed diagnosis (according to Williams) on a tumor on his head. He feels like it was intentional so he wouldn't miss games. It's got nothing to do with his teammates.

Him as a player on the field.
Did you read the article?
Have I not stated that this was NOt likely to happen?
It is a topic because it is unresolved.
How would I have any capacity to influence anything?
I am posting what is out there today related to Williams.
Give me a break.
If you have inside information about the Williams situation please post it. Where does your conclusion come from regarding him and his stance against management?
Everyone of his teammates has supported him.
So Washington management has a sterling relationship with it's players?
What was published about McCoy and how he was rushed back early from a broken leg?
Did you read what Peterson and other teammates have stated?
Look it up.

Some really struggle with 0 + 0 = 0 ... that would be the case here ... lets just ignore the fact he’s not the only one the skins “staff” has rushed back and there’s more than a few current and ex teammates who’ve had like experiences over the last few years ... It has to be williams not wanting to play with his teammates cause it fits vers’s Agenda ... I agree with U and Vers that it won’t happen but his logic is beyond flawed in my humble opinion ... LETS GOOOOOOOOOooooooooo

The title of the thread is Trent Williams.
The article is about Trent Williams. Quoting teammate RT Morgan Moses.
The situation with Washington is unresolved. The Browns have been mentioned in the media as a team that "may" have interest. The Browns have cap space. Robinson is not a highly ranked LT and has history as to why.
So posting the article is relevant to the topic of the thread.
I don't know what fantasy you are referring too?
Nor do I know what facts you are referring too?

On another note. Stefen Wisnewski was cut by the Eagles and is probably better than whoever we decide to make the starter at RG.

And the Bears released the OL named Bars who is very highly touted

Of course it doesn't. We are not trading for him. I'm not even saying we should trade him, but his teammates have shown a lot of support for him. His OC practically begged him to come back. Their medical staff is a joke. They rushed Colt McCoy back last year and caused him to still be hurt at this time this year. They didn't diagnose his tumors correctly so that he wouldn't miss time.

Players usually always back up their team mates. You have the NFLPA on one side and the owners on the other side. That's the way it works. And then of course once in a great while you will have a player who doesn't do that.
When that happens, other players don't look favorable upon that. And if he's a popular player, fans will make excuses for it.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

TRENT WILLIAMS T, WASHINGTON REDSKINS
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports holdout Redskins LT Trent Williams could report as early as Week 2.
The word arrives via Williams' ex-teammate DeAngelo Hall, who also said last week there was "zero chance" Williams would report for the opener. Week 2 is apparently a different story. Rapsheet recently reported that Williams has been medically cleared. The 31-year-old wouldn't need many practice reps to be game ready.

Problem is, our desperation drives the price up to an even higher cost
