College football kicks off tonight at 8:00 w/a pretty good game. The Miami Hurricanes play the 8th ranked Florida Gators in Orlando.

There will be games on Thursday, including Clemson taking on Georgia Tech.

I figured we could discuss the NCAA games here and hopefully someone will start a new Ohio State thread where we can just discuss the Buckeyes.

A great way to start it off tonight with a neat matchup .. next week will be awesome too

Anybody want to predict the final 4 right now? One point per correct team and an extra point per team if the team is in the right ranking spot.

Btw, is the game tonight at 7? Or 8? I see both times

I don't really know beyond Clemson and Alabama.

I think Georgia will have a very good team.

Ohio State's schedule sets up for a run, but they are going to have a new coach and new QB, and that's just a real tough call.

Oklahoma will probably be very good, but also new QB, I just assume the next kid to take over will be a stud.

No worries Vers, I caught most of it ... good game thus far ... MIami’s QB is very elusive and opportunistic. FLA’s turnovers have hurt them

This has been an entertaining--if not technically sound--game.

A great fake just pulled off by Miami ... that was negated by a penalty

Clemson plays nobody. Georgia wins the SEC. Michigan FINALLY beats OSU. And Bama always gets in.

This game’s coming right down to it; a great first game of the year

Great game to get the season underway. A bit sloppy, but I loved the twists and turns. The emotion of it was very strong. I approve.

Hawaii QB is gonna throw for 500 yards tonight vs Arizona

Maybe not, he threw his 4 int with about 370 yards, benched for red-shirt freshmen.

That one had me nervous. First games are usually a bit sloppy. Add in being a in state rivalry game, you can toss out rankings. Both teams are fighting for in state recruiting leverage.

A win is a win. Glad that one is out of the way.

Peen, you must be happy to have it out of the way for sure. You knew it’d be a strange/close type game given the circumstances ... now you get two weeks off IIRC

I'm not making the prediction based on what I want. With a new coach, a new QB and the fact that OSU will be playing on the road, I think the winning streak against Michigan will be snapped.

Of course, I'd be more than happy to be wrong.

Here are my wants every college football year:
1. Toledo wins the MAC
2. Toledo beats BGSU
3. Toledo beats Northern Illinois
4. OSU beats Michigan
5. MSU beats Michigan
6. Toledo wins its bowl game
7. Watch a great Final 4 playoff (maybe someday with Toledo)
8. Watch as many other rivalry games as I can
9. Keep track of the top 25 on a weekly basis
10. Sort of root for Illinois to not be trash for the wife

(2 through 5 are more like 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d)

Clemson is loaded again.

And they play two ranked teams this year (as of right now). Texas A&M should be a decent test, but they'll roll Syracuse.

If Clemson isn't in the playoff, the season is a failure. They don't have to win it all, but they have to finish in the top 4. Reigning champion, best QB in football, one of the easiest schedules, a weak conference....come on.

I don't like Clemson, but they are so freaking good. That program is now elite. And it's going to stay that way unless something freaky happens. Dabo seems kinda phony, but he treats kids the right way and it is getting noticed.

Btw---------T. Lawrence is maybe the best college qb prospect I have seen since Luck. Dude is a stud!

Right, I've been hearing his name used alongside Luck's and Elway's. And he was a true freshman last year. Crazy.

CIncy is up on UCLA ... it’d be a nice way to start the season

He also comes across as a really good kid.., hard not to root for him....

I'm hoping the Aggies can upset them,,, it should be a great game but I'm guessing Clemson wins...

Texas A&M probably has the best shot of upsetting Clemson during the regular season. I wouldn't mind seeing that.

An NFL team or teams will tank for Lawrence.

And rightfully so.

When is he draft eligible?

The draft after this upcoming one, correct?

A lot can change in 2 years, but he does look like a franchise QB so far.
