Okay, I don't have any players to list as of yet, but I think this is a topic that needs to be started. It will make the cuts the Browns make a separate thread and avoid the confusion of tying it into a thread that has other league cuts listed.

Once these cuts start being announced things will progress quickly. I hope everyone finds this useful.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Hopefully there is a condition on this trade where we don't up with the worst of the two picks.

Yeah, we certainly wouldn't want to end up with pick number 240 when we could be sitting at 226.

Or we wouldn't to pay any amount of value to trade a player that the other team wants.

I'd say we're potentially getting value for someone who was likely going to be on our practice squad at best.

Detroit could have offered a catered Panera lunch and I would say it's a good deal. That's nothing against Blough, just that he wasn't going to make our active roster. So we at least got a 7th out of it.

We already had a seventh. Now we could potentially get a worse seventh. It's not that hard to put a condition on a trade.

Either way it is almost certainly inconsequential and I don't actually care.

I would have probably been announced. I think it is assumed the Lions 7th rounder will have more value than ours.

It is obvious The Lions didn't want to see him waived and chance it out there.

It seems pretty obvious to me we will keep 3 QB's on the 53 and weren't hoping to get him the the practice squad, or if we hope to get him to the practice squad, it wasn't going to happen.

The Lions probably told Dorsey they wanted him and they would claim him and made the offer.

Being a 2 year down the road pick, we have to hope it improves our slot 30 or so positions. If not we might lose position, but if so, something went way wrong and somebody else is going to be running things,.

It's for 2022.

You can most definitely put these type of conditions on a trade.

I edited my comments after posting....it probably makes sense now.

The point is this is 2019. The Lions figured that out and told us they were going to claim him if we released him which John knew he was going to do.....forget about any though John hoped to get him to the practice squad.

At that point John knew Blough wasn't going to be on his practice squad since the Lions just offered a trade. At that point he had to decide who is going to be better two years from now? He bet that we would.

Other GMs aren't stupid. John isn't going to win every hand. The Lions made a nice play to force our hand.. John had to fold and agree.

On the Browns site it says the picks are undisclosed. I'm betting they are using that as a way to make the trade conditional.

Good for Blough, he’ll get a shot there for a backup role eventually

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

j/c on the Blough trade:

I think JD just did Detroit a "solid". DET just gave up virtually nothing to get in front of the waiver line.

The "get" for JD will be a reciprocal favor from the Lions at some point. IMO.

If we find a way to keep Gilbert, I like it. It just seems weird to keep him as #3.

Future trade bait?

Go Hilliard! If Hilliard does his job, Hunt will be the icing by week 8.

Only a few more days.......

Because he deserves to be a #2 on our team or another's team.

Happy to keep him.

And he may well end up as our #2. Good enough.

Coach said he wouldn't mind keeping 3 active QBs.

If Stanton stays an active #2 this season, then maybe Gilbert is a trade possibility for an in-need team?

PSquad = someone will pick him off. Imo.

Mayfield - Gilbert - late 2020 draft pick going into next season.

There's a part of me that wonders if Gilbert would be our #2 and Stanton our #3. Stanton, as McCown was, is really best used for a coach in that room. Gilbert outplayed Stanton all camp and Preseason.

I'd cut Taviere Thomas, Phillip Gaines, and Justin Burris,

and ensure keeping, Ekuale, Coley and Zettel,

Armstron, Taylor, and Chad Thomas should be the next out.

Genard Avery is a linebacker, no matter how many times they try to say he is a defensive lineman, And a good coverage linebacker at that.
