I think a lot of people dislike the Cowboys because of the, "America's Team" stamp they have. But I'm not really one of those people. I don't really blame the Cowboys or their fans for that. It was and is media driven and perpetuated by the media. I won't fault you guys for that.
I have and will always be a Browns fan first. But in addition to that I'm a huge fan of the NFL! There are other teams and players around the league that I like and follow. I have the NFL Sunday Ticket so I can record several games weekly and follow other teams and players.
I will say that neither the Cowboys nor any of their players are anyone I follow, but I hold no ill will against the Cowboys or their fans.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."
My thinking on this is that we might end up being hated by the many who didn't jump on the bandwagon.
People are already annoyed that we think we might potentially make the playoffs... talking about how we have the 5th best odds to win the Super Bowl or whatever they are now seems to just infuriate people... most importantly, the Steelers fans are tired of it and we've only just begun.
Not anyone specifically, but we will be an obnoxious group if we make it to the playoffs. If we somehow win the SB this season, I fear for lives and the city of cleveland. Some fans won't be able to control themselves. From humiliation to winning it all in just 2 seasons would be a nasty combination for this team. I really want it to happen, but I'm afraid there will be consequences.
I think we will be one of those teams that people are going to love to hate... I welcome that.
It was hard to figure out where to put this, but I thought this was a really nice story about Baker and his mom. I'm just going to give you the link because the video is a must-see.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
Browns just got assigned a new reporter by ESPN. I don't know a lot about Jake Trotter maybe the Baker transplants and Tulsa could weigh in about their opinions? Is the dude more MKC or Burns?
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
Awhile after "The Move"...the City hosted a "Final Play" day...or something to that affect/effect. Fans were invited to come to the stadium before it was to be torn down and could get on the field.
I went with a good friend of mine who is also a Browns fan. We got beer for the cooler - not allowed in the stadium - and bought a Nerf football in a convenience store.
We got on the field with other people who were just kind of milling around...kind of in a daze actually. We threw a few passes for TDs and looked around at what was soon to be no more. Bittersweet. Surreal. Finally on the filed...but for a terrible reason.
We were in the Dawg Pound end of the field. I looked into the bleachers and there sat an older woman with a younger woman...I guessed 60 and 35...ish. They were like Zombies looking on to the field. It was heart-breaking. I surmised that they were reminiscing of a time gone by...mother and daughter maybe...maybe missing a husband/father...or brother...or any one of importance to them who wasn't there that day. I will never forget them or the way they looked onto the field.
It was almost like a funeral. I'll never forget that day.
