There better be another move on the way or this doesn't make much sense.

Wonder if Trent Williams is getting traded to Cleveland? Maybe we can get Laremy Tunsil off the Texans for cheap.

If that were to happen - not saying it will - but *if* .... how 'Old Browns' would it be to see Baker suffer a season ending injury on a blown play by the stand in LT .... smh

Idk why they are being cheap right now, when his entire salary comes off the books next year...as he's only signed for one year.
I wonder if his poor work ethic is showing up again...

I wonder if his poor work ethic is showing up again... You can roll money over to the next year. It's really weird though. "Greg we like you. Also, you're cut and we aren't paying you as much as we said."

Say what? After week 1? This was weird at the top of the page, bit got weirder as went. What is this about? Apparently he was not sought after for trade or swap? Curiouser and curiouser . . . .

This is an odd move given his small guarantee .. kinda stumped on this one
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

NFL owners better hope that the NFLPA never finds their own version of MLB players' rep, Marvin Miller.

After trying to figure it out on Twitter, I think we have our explanation: on the NFL transaction list at 4 PM today, the move to IR Forbes was not listed on it, but cutting Robinson was listed. The Browns probably placed Forbes on IR after 4 PM, which makes him eligible to return from IR this season. Therefore, releasing Robinson was a “loophole,” and they should re-sign him right away. Brent Sobleski of The OBR notes that he thinks this could also be related to a longer-term deal coming for Robinson, perhaps one that was in place before the “loophole” was taken advantage of. https://www.dawgsbynature.com/2019/9/1/2...ill-re-sign-him

Dorsey strikes again! Sounds smart and makes sense to me now ... thats a loophole for sure

Whea I first read this I was , well there had to be something to rain on our parade. Then when I saw he would be resigned, I thought, good move. Sign him to a longer term deal with less money this year. Could turn out to be a brilliant move by Dorsey.
RIP, Jim

I'm curious as to how it would work... to keep another team from claiming him, when he's 'released'.
Do they make a wink-wink deal with the player's agent, knowing a longer deal will happen, or would that be even necessary?

I was starting to get really nervous for a minute. Me too I hope there's more to this story than saving cap money. Employees always perform better when the boss backs out of a deal and lowers their pay, said no one ever.
