He does have some athletic skills. In high school, he was both Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball for the state of Oregon. Had a pretty good year his senior year at OSU. If he gets most of the snaps in practice and a few games under his belt, does he have a chance to turn out above expectations? He's a big, strong kid who may not have had the repititions necessary to show what he's got.

He's a big strong kid who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if he was standing ten feet in front of it, but if he did, he might throw the ball threw the barn .

I have a feelin that the coaching staff will have DA play not to lose. By me saying that i meen they are gonna give Cincci a huge dose of Jamal along with alot of safe plays that will give DA the best chance to succeed. DA will make the Brett Farve throw into a tight spot on one play and then it comes back to bite him the next (ala last year) and he still struggles with the underneth throws.
DA is no more than a filler for a few games till the brass feel Brady is ready.
No more and no less to read into DA and his situation.
You dont have to win every game just the next one!

I just don't see it happening. He couldn't pull it together at the end of last year. And now he's had all offseason, OTA's, Minicamp and whatever else and he still couldn't beat out Frye. Im not very encouraged.

He was a mediocre college quarterback (convert his rating into NFL standards and you'll see) with an arm and no accuracy that was drafted in the sixth round only to get cut by the team that drafted him that, at the time, had no quarterback depth. We signed him as a third stringer and he was promoted to second string not by merit, but by the Dilfer trade. Frye got hurt in KC and he played well for a half. After that, he didn't post a QB rating above 85, threw an increasing number of interceptions in each game, lost all three of them including his embarassing Tampa performance, then got hurt and missed the final game. Then, he entered the off-season with the chance to compete for the starting quarterback job. Frye underwhelmed but, yet, Anderson somehow managed to play worse and lose out to him for the opener. Frye was abysmal vs. the Steelers so Anderson came in... and stunk as well. His career QB rating is in the 60s and his career completion percentage is mid 50s. He has an arm but he has no accuracy, no mobility, poor football smarts and locks onto his receivers. Now, he's the starter because we traded Frye, effectively giving him the job by default... which he has done absolutely nothing to earn except playing well for one half in relief (maybe two if you count the Ravens game last year). Do you feel lucky? I sure don't.
We're... we're good?

He has been the named starter in three NFL games and one pre season game. Record 0-3 in regular season. The one pre season game he started, the team looked totaly lost. Based on the evidence, his chances are slim and none. All we can do is HOPE slim wins out.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

He will do very well. The way I see it a comet will smite the Cincy training facility tomorrow and wipe out the entire club except for Mike Brown. Then Brown hires a Mexican soccer team to take their place.
In other words, we're doomed... at least this week.

So...basically... Eliminate turnovers, penalties, dropped balls, bad throws, bad decisions, tight coverages, blitzes, and injuries.
Yep...looks like we'll be fine.

He is going to suck, just like he always sucks. We will be way behind, and Brady will go in for drive or two at the end during garbage time.

At this point with the O-line not having much time together, it is probably the best way to go anyway. Getting the run blocking continuity is CRUCIAL to this offense having any chance at a remotely sucessful season.
We have a nice line but they havent been together much and it going to take some time,
That being said , I will be surprised as hell if we dont get the living crap blitzed out of us in passing situations until the offense starts picking up them up better and our QB starts getting rid of the ball like a professional Qb needs to.
That IS what killed Charlie

i think he had better learn some accuracy, b/c our only chance at winning is to come out throwing. they're going to stack 8 or 9 in the box every play until we make them stop, plus they'll send the house on various blitzes since we've shown how badly we're thrown off in blitz recognition and pickup.
i say slim to none, but who knows, id say it'll be a crazy game nonetheless.

Field postion dictates so much of what a defense does. If we dont start every freakin drive inside our 20 the D will be forced back off a little and that can open up the run. All it takes is one nice adjustment to a blitz by a reciever for a big gain and that will reign in the blitz a little.
I expect to see a pretty conservative offensive gameplan if we are holding our own in the field postion battle. Thsi team needs to play not to lose right now. It sucks but we just dont have it together enough to come out chucking the ball all over the place.

About as good as my chances of landing Miss Teen USA 2005 Allie LaForce in my bed. And for the record, my chances aren't good only because she has a boyfriend.

that doesn't exactly inspire confidence does it? Then again, it looks like Cincy has a decent Defense, but it doesn't look as good as Pittsburghs, so I would hope he/we perform better.

I think that we have a chance with Anderson at QB as long as he throws as many TDs as INTs. (as he did last year in the Pitts and Balt games) Anderson's horrific game was the Tampa game, which he left with an injury ...... and I'm still not sure just when that injury happened, and the effect it had on the game. If you remember, it came down to him or Dorsey ...... and when Dorsey entered the game he went 0-1, with 1 sack. It's possible that Anderson felt like he had to stay in the game, even though he played like crap.

There are 2 possible chances for DA to be successful:
No Way and No How.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Jamal will have to run the ball decently, utilize the tight end, limit Anderson's throws. Toss one deep once in awhile. The thing many seem to forget in in all this QB/Fire RAC stuff is that we got down 17-0 early and CF had a meltdown. It was a weird chain of events.

DA is who the Browns will have at QB this weekend so I'm gonna support him. DA will do fine if we can run the ball effectivly, running the ball will take the game off his shoulders, DA wont have to throw every down and this in turn will keep Cinci from blitzing every play. When DA throw we need to keep him throwing underneath route, lets not get to fansy, yes we need to go down field a few times, but lets not run routes where he might have to thread the needle, Bottom line it all come down to can we run the ball or not...

DA is what he is... he will have flashes where he looks very good but he will also make mistakes, costly mistakes... he could even have entire good games, but I doubt he could put 2 back to back... He struggles to read defenses and he struggles with his accuracy, therefore, he will always struggle to be consistent.

Anything is possible... With DA it's probably very doubtfull... Big, strong/arm, athletic QB prospect... Thats where the upside ends... IMO. I watched him play his college ball... He was not very good... He played well against non conference teams and cupcakes... But in the PAC 10 and quality non conference teams he just wasn't very good... An he had some outstanding talent around him... Several OSU West players from those teams in the league... He forces it far to much, continues to make poor decisions, at the line of scrimage and in his progressions, holds the ball too long and has below average pocket sense... I don't like our chances... I hope I'm wrong yet again...
