Having PSU followed by Michigan is a pretty brutal end

To say this game made me nervous would be an understatement.

After the first quarter, it seemed we went flat and FAU made some adjustments. They figured out the holes in the zone and exploited them.

The OL gave up too many hits on Fields and he tended to hold on to the ball too long at times.

It's early and it may just take a little time to get in a groove. But they better find it pretty quick.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

As a Bearcats alum, I expected to lose but not like this..... at least so far. I did not envision 28-0 at the half.

Buckeyes look legit and polished. Chase Young is a boss.

It will be a big time hit on the UC program, and Luke Fickell, to get blanked on this game.

Ohio State looked like a top 3 team today, but also, I think the air got taken out of Cincinnati after that kid went down. They weren't going to win, but any chance at being competitive ended right there. That was terrifying

--Fields looked really, really good today. Good decisions, good accuracy, arm strength, good running. He holds it too long, but he's young. I was impressed.

--I think Day is a very good offensive coach. We'll probably be able to recruit good QBs moving forward.

--I felt sorry for Fickel. He's a good guy.

--Our OL was awesome today. We opened up big holes and pass pro was much better.

--We have a slew of receivers.

--The D is pretty fast, other than Borland, and they are tackling well.

--Young is a candidate to go number 1 overall in the draft.

--A lot of people were saying UC had a chance today because their defense is so good. But man, we carved them up.

--This was a nice victory for us. We have a chance to contend for the title.

--This may sound weird, but Maryland is starting to worry me. Man, those cats can score.

A good day for the Bucks ... Fields looks legit (I think Urban is a bit jealous that Day has Fields haha) ... and I’m hoping the dude from CIncy will be okay

As of now, we look like the best team in the Big 10. Michigan seems off and PSU may not have the QB play

This team is looking very good. Some of the things I like:

--Our OL looks much better than last year.

--Our tackling is far superior than last year's.

--Our secondary is improved.

--Our special teams' coverage is better.

--Our running game looks better.

--The lack of outside distractions is probably helping our team.

So, I feel pretty good about this year's team. Of course, the negative is that the Big 10 has that contract w/Fox and we will probably face the same bias from ESPN, who has so much control over college football and the playoff teams.

Go Bucks!

Agreed.

The team seems to be thriving. Playing with something to prove.

I have especially enjoyed the contributions of co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. The Cover 3, Cover 4, Cover 6, pattern-matching concepts, etc. It adds a new, different dimension to the Buckeyes defense. They're playing with clear eyes and fast feet right now.

That said, we're still talking about 18-to-22-year-olds, so hopefully they aren't reading their press clippings.

Chuck knows it's all about collecting that $1.3M for playing Oho State.

Ohio State is paying Florida Atlantic a cool $1.4 Million to come into the ‘Shoe and fill a hole that was on the schedule. Cincinnati gets a payday of only $375,000, but then Miami (Oh) will receive a check for $1.3 Million. Do the math and that’s $3,075,000.00 Ohio State has to budget just to bring schools in to fill out the non-conference slate for 2019.

What’s the most amount of money a school has paid an opponent? That seems fairly high lol

I think their fans are too ... the SEC is good of course, but their attendance is crap against the easy teams they destroy

Those creme-puff games only serve as exhibition games and when the good teams on the schedule come, the team is far from ready.

You won't hear any arguments from me about OSU's OOC schedule this year, it's not very good, and you could have predicted that years ago.

I do give OSU credit for at least trying to schedule a good game every year outside of their conference. I just don't understand why these have to be scheduled so far in advance. I get not being able to schedule a game right now, for the 2020 season, but does it have to be 10 years from now? It doesn't make a lot of sense.

There has been a lack of good matchups early on so far, at least we get Notre Dame/UGA tomorrow, which I guess is good

Looking ahead in the future, OSU will be going to Oregon and Notre Dame (and both will travel to Columbus)

I have never liked how college teams schedule games so far in advance. What looks like a good match-up 5-10 years down the road might end up being a very disappointing two-game series.

I think colleges shouldn’t be in control of their own schedule.

Interesting. Maybe use a computer model based on the previous years power rankings to spit out 3-4 non conference games for each school. One top tier, one mid tier and one low tier opponent to keep things level?
