Being the optimist I try my hardest to find explanations for my blind and often misguided faith in the Cleveland Browns. But here is a sure-fire sign a turnaround is in sight.

Let's go back to the year 2004. The Browns have supposedly settled their Q.B. situation with the addition of the pro-bowl veteren Jeff Garcia. After a let down in 03' hopes for a turnaround are strengthend by Garcia and the arrival of Winslow. The first game of the year is against a division rival and many believe if the Browns are going to regain their playoff form a win in the opener is vital. So the opener comes and the Garcia led Browns run the favored Baltimore Ravens off the field. Garcia it is believed will finally bring stability to the Q.B. position. Butch Davis has supposedly regained his form and looks secure as the coach. Analyst offer apologies to Browns fans for so severely underrating the team. For awhile all looks pleasent in Browns town. Then as we all know the wheels fall off.

This year the exact opposite. Stability at the Q.B. position is non existent, or so it appears. Romeo is on the hot seat. And many believe that if the Browns are going to be this years cinderella they'll show up in the opener and beat the Steelers. Well that didn't quite happen Frye was benched then traded, Romeo looks like he could be nearing his end, analyst pile on and use the loss to reinforce their belief the Browns suck.

Well if there is one thing I've learned as a Browns fan it is that nothing is ever how it seems. So here is to a year with the end result being opposite that of 2004. 12-4 (or at least 9-7...fine 8-8) here come the BROWNS!!!

Hey why not I have to find some reason to believe!

Interesting perspective but if the Browns don't go out and do a 180 against the Bengals, the media will have a field day with Crennel. The only way for Crennel to save his job is to start Brady Quinn. I just hope he waits till he's ready... but if Anderson stinks it up, he'll really have no choice.

They have been using adhesive remover in the office across the hall all day, it's been coming into our office through the HVAC system... and after sniffing what amounts to paint thinner all day, even I can't say 12-4 with a straight face...

I like your optimism though... and I think you are right, I won't give a game by game, but the Browns team we see near the end of the season will not resemble the one we saw last Sunday...

One can only hope.

How could they be any worse?

Oh now you've done it. You've gone and jinxed us by asking the "How could it get any worse?" question.

"..............things could have been sooooo much better in Brownstown "!!!!

If "if's" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a very Merry Christmas!

And miss out on all this intrigue and confusion/panic?. It is what it is and enjoy the darkness before the light.
