Coming into this evening, the Tribe has a magic number of 11 to clinch the division crown. The Indians have a 3-game set against the Royals while the Tigers play in Minnesota before coming into Cleveland.

Tribe leading 1-0 right now on an RBI single from Pronk, scoring Grady. "Cy"bathia on the mound this evening, going for win #18.

Sounds like a good game

For those of you watching the wild card as well Detroit is winning and Skanks are losing.

Another big win for the Tribe esp. with the Tigers winning. If we could sweep and the Tigers lose at least 1 this weekend.

In Sabathia, Fausto Carmona (16-8) and Paul Byrd (15-6), the Indians are the majors' only team with three-15 game winners. They're the first AL team with three 15-game winners since the 2001 New York Yankees (Mussina, Clemens, Pettitte) Thats pretty good company. ... Sabathia has 198 strikeouts, the most by an Indians left-hander since Sam McDowell's 304 in 1970. 304

If I am not mistaken the only 3 times a team has had three 15 game winners, they well ....you know.

Aside from being "in" from that angle, we also have a 3 game lead on the Yankees in the Wild Card.

Always good to know we're up there too!

I think if we take 2 of 3 from Detroit; its game, set, match. They'd be down at least 6.5 games possibly 7.5. Theres no way they can make that up.

If only the Browns were good...it'd be a great time to be a Cleveland sports fan. Aw heck, its still a great time to be a Cleveland sports fan

It is important to get this thing wrapped up with 4-5 games to go so we cant get our rotation for the playoffs set....rest a few guys....work or not work a few bullpen guys.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

While I agree, with the new playoff schedule it is less important than before. There are two off-days before the first game and it currently sets up where the rotation would only need to be moved one day (C.C. is currently slated to start the regular season finale) to line it up for the playoffs.

Don't the Tiggers have to play the Yankees in the season finale? That won't be an easy series for Detroit.

Indians have 14 games left, Tigers have 13. If the Tribe plays .500 ball ... 7-7 ... the rest of the way, Tigers need to go 12-1 to tie them. Its looking good for now, but this IS Cleveland so fasten your seatbelt.
