I'm the one that pointed out the victory speech and how lackluster both the speech and player reactions were.
Having said that, it's a large jump to assume the players don't like Freddie in general other than Baker. Before game 3 of the season. After a win.
Freddie and Baker and Odell acted like they lost the game in their post game pressers. The general mood was down across the board. There really wasn't much to get excited about after just beating a high school team. I think it's reasonable to assume the reaction had as much to do with that as a dozen other things it could have been.
Sometimes it seems to me people want this team to fail and all the people involved with it to fail. I have to be honest Vers, this sounds like wishful thinking by you.
Can we just acknowledge that players and coaches across the board are going to make mistakes? That they aren't going to be perfect? But given time, they will get better?
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Of course it is a stretch. But, not more than comments like Baker is a HOFer or Freddie is Ready or the Browns are going to win multiple Super Bowls.
And I have no idea what you mean by wishful thinking? The only thing I can think of is that you believe I want them to fail. If you truly believe that...........we probably should not talk anymore.

Victory speeches are overrated. How many times have we seen Belichick address a winning locker room and he sounds like his dog just died. I also remember Tony Dungy giving speeches that made me want to fall asleep. Judging a team's relationship with their coach based on a minute long clip seems unwise. What really matters is if the players respect the coach. I don't know if the players respect Freddie Kitchens or not, a lot of that has to do with the team only having played two games.
On the tough training camp topic -- we had a tough training camp by today's standards but there really isn't such a thing as a tough training camp anymore. The last CBA legislated training camp to the point where it is not too tough at all. I think this makes teams a little more rusty going into the season but it also probably prevents a ton of injuries.
As far as playing in preseason -- there were a bunch of teams that sat their players for the whole of the preseason and they started the season fine. There were also teams that played their players in the preseason and they started the season fine.
In the end the injuries are alarming, especially the ones that seem like they occurred midweek. That seems like lack of care is being taken during practice (or it could just be random). Luckily we have more depth than we have had in previous years. Mack Wilson won't be as good as Kirksey but he should fill in pretty well. Terrance Mitchell is basically a starting corner that doesn't play. My guess is that the guys that were limited were limited as a precaution and most will play on Sunday.

Just adding on I guess: I don’t think Baker will like Freddie nearly as much if he keeps regressing lol. Freddie seems to have lost sight of what made us good last year
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

With regards to victory speeches; If you expect to lose and instead you win, it is easy to get excited. If you expect to win against an outmatched oppenent and do, there isn't that much to get excited about. Especially when the team still looks discombobulated in several areas. With the shorter than usual turnaround (as if the normal week wasn't short enough), it's time to get to work on the opponent and our own issues that need cleaned up. Excitement can lead to playing out of control like we saw in week 1. Perhaps we will benefit from a more workman-like approach. As far as easier training camps preventing injury, I'm not sure if this is true or does it merely postpone them? Football is a violent contact sport. Injuries are going to happen. As far as injuries showing up mid-week, players try to play through things. Adrenaline and painkillers can cover up a lot. It's waking up on a Wednesday and having trouble getting out of bed that has some decide they should probably get some treatment. If they get treatment, they are supposed to show up on the injury report. Football seasons are often battles of attrition. Let's hope Dorsey has improved our depth as much as we believed.

I just saw that we elevated Jackson from the PS .. this could mean we’re planning to be without some DBs Sunday

If both Greedy and Ward are out it could get ugly. Very. We need at least one of them and have Mitchell as well. Having neither? Ugh.

I think all the 'questionable' players will play. I don't. They didn't sound too confidant on CBD today in Greedy or Denzel playing. Said Burnett very questionable too.

They brought back Donnie Lewis and called up Robert Jackson - don't look like ward or greedy are going to make it.

I dont think it looks good for Ward, Greedy, Randall or Burnett .... other than that, our secondary will be stout

I know it ... for how healthy we were TWO weeks ago, this is crazy

Can we call up the commish and ask to move this game to our bye week? Sheesh!
And this is a nationally televised game too. It will be a long week of hearing, "The Browns aren't living up to the hype. Sure, half their team is on crutches, but I knew they'd crumble under the pressure. Same old Browns."
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”

This is all really weird. I get the injuries from the last game. But Ward and Williams weren't on the injury report earlier this week, and then they get put on there. Maybe Kitchens is just doing like the Patriots used to do when Tom Brady was on every injury report, but played every week. Something just doesn't make sense.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

i'm surprised we haven't brought in some DB help. Some serviceable vets sitting there like shields, berry, munnerlyn

I'm a little concerned that we're still going full-tilt in practices, or something like that. It's a long season, these guys get hit enough on Game Day; they don't need the extra hitting at the office during the week. Their bodies need to recuperate & recover for the next round.

I step away from the real world for a two-day work retreat and it feels like half of the starters are out.
Yikes.

A lot of players on the questionable list in the NFL play week in and week out. However, all of the late week additions I do find troubling.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

He meant guys who are injured but understand the mental aspects of the game can still play even though they are hurt. The media is shameful.
