We need more leg strength on the kickoffs.

I know our D had mega troubles today, but when you give Carson Palmer field position like that after every kickoff he's going to answer more often than not.

When we had that 4th and goal from the 2, I was furious when we went for the field goal. I would rather have had a 10 point lead and give them the ball at the 2 than a 13 point lead and another short field for CP to work with.

In Dawson's defense, he saw 6 weeks worth of work today. I think his leg was starting to fall off. I don't think his kicks were too bad, the coverage just wasn't good. Cincy had the same problem with us and Graham is one of the best kickers in the league.

It had nothing to do with Dawson. We were pretty bad on kick-off/punt coverage today:

Holt - 29.5 yard average on 6 returns (6 for 177 yards)
Perry - 17 yard average (3 for 51 yards)
Kelly - 15 yard average (1 for 15 yards)

By comparison, Cribbs had a great day and had a 36.6 yard return average -- only slightly better than Holt -- and that, too, had nothing to do with Cincy kicking short.

That's just crazy talk right there. Instead of forcing them to score two touchdowns, you'd rather they only had to score one and then a fg?

If you want to be mad about something at that point in the game, get mad about that 3rd down pass call.

We have a big back, a good OL, and we were on the 1.5 yard line. Line up and run it down their throats. We should be able to get 1.5 yards.

I did not like that call at all.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I disagree. You have to get up by 2 TDs as opposed to a TD and a FG.. In the last minute or two it's a whole lot easier to get into FG position than it is to stick it in the endzone... I didn't really like the call on 3rd down, but that's a different story... Kicking the FG was the right play.

Nail sees head and hits it. I agree 100% though for a second I did ask myself go for it, then my brain kicked in and said no get the points.

I actually LIKED the call on 3rd and 2... play action, roll right... the Bengals defended it well, gotta give them credit for a good play. I think they may have had a hunch we'd try that because that's how we scored vs. Pittsburgh.

I think that call would have worked better, had we run Jamal on that 4th and 1 and got it.

but since we failed then, they hedge bets we would go with the play action, and they won the bet.

Phils kicks were fine yesterday. The only short one (to the 21) was by design, not due to leg strength. Our coverage and lack of making tackles was the problem.
