why would you revolt though?

you realize that if the gop controlled senate votes to impeached, that means even your leadership saw what trump did as completely wrong and criminal.

you would revolt against the GOP upholding the law and ethics? odd.

conservatives only listen to fox news. well here you go!

i already post this before, but there is the video. wallace reporting that fox news now confirms that Rudy was working with two other people, private citizens, and that the only one who knew about their activities was trump.

all agencies approved the aid, but it was trump who decided to withhold the aid to ukraine.

uh oh

imma lay out exactly why this is a big freaking problem for trump, and why public opinion isn't gonna swing his way.

the biggest thing going against trump is that the two main points of the whistle blower complaint has already been proven to be true. it doesnt help that trump and Rudy have blabbered on and on and confirmed it themselves.

the other major issue is that the timeline has already been established, and there's nothing there on biden or his son. so the ONE thing that would've provided him some sort of cover is completely out the window. the former and current ukrainian prosecutor BOTH said there was nothing there. not good for trump.

then you have a bunch of other issues, which is major or minor depending on how you look at it. for example, trump has the CIA, FBI, DoJ, and other agencies he could've got to look at this, and it wouldve all been about corruption. the problem is that he didn't do that. he instead got his personal attorney to go dig up dirt, and then got two OTHER private citizens to help him out. so you have 3 people working off the books, claiming to be working on behalf of the president. not good.

then, in the phone call, he brings up AG Barr as somebody who is working along side Rudy on the "investigation". the problem? Barr knew nothing of that, so now you have an issue with the AG being brought up and having to defend himself from something he wasn't part of, thanks to the president. not good.

THEN, Rudy decides to bring up the fact that he was working along side of the state department, bringing up text messages on fox news and everything. except the state department denies working with Rudy. So now Pompeo is ticked off cause Rudy is trying to bring heat on him, and now the US envoy to Ukraine resigned. not good.

THEN, trump decide to try and deflect heat onto Pence, saying the dems should look into his phone calls with ukraine, completely tossing Pence under the bus, even though there's no evidence that Pence had any improper phone calls to ukraine (for now). not good.

THEN, you got the simple fact that despite ALL the government agencies involved with making sure ukraine is good to go with the aid package, INCLUDING agencies ran by trump's own hand picked secretaries, as well as approval from congress to release funds, he decides to withhold the aid package prior to the phone, and then released the aid package after ukrainian president agrees that biden should be looked at. not good.

and finally, atleast for my own points, you have the issue with the server.

now, this server situation can go either way. the administration certainly has a credible defense that due to some leaks, they felt the need to move communications to this highly classified intelligence server.

ok cool.....except now we're starting to learn that it was only certain communications, including calls to the saudi crown price and vladimr putin. So now trump has completely opened himself to scrutiny about THAT. why? if ALL communications were being moved to the server, he would have some cover. but since they picked and choose which ones goes there, now thats gonna be investigated as well. not good.

the more that information comes out, the more the polls will go against trump. this doesnt include the fact that its been reporting that trump told the russians he didnt care about russians interfering in our elections.

also, here's a potential big freaking issue.....remember, Dan coats, the intel chief at the time of this phone call, was forced to step down.

was it over this phone call? because if it was....oh boy.

Dan Coats resigned/fired 3 days after the phone call. As DNI he may have seen a transcript of the call.

John Bolten resigned/fired September 12th, about the time this stuff began hitting the papers. So I am sure he knew that the complaint existed.

Since they are no longer part of the administration, they may have something to say.

Trump's Achilles heel is that he can't resist whatever the latest conspiracy theory that is put in front of him.

He revels in it, but this time he may have been duped.

lol, could yall imagine what these conservatives would be saying if obama was tweeting nonsense like this? they would be demanding the GOP impeach obama just for tweeting.

Charger, while i agree with what you said, i have to disagree with Trump's achilles heel.

trump's achilles heel is his inability to keep his mouth shut.

Swish,
Funny you should post this; drudge report has a headline tonight that the whistle blower has asked for federal protection as they fear for their life;

also, there is a $50,000 bounty out for someone who can confirm the identity of the whistle blower

Smh wow. Sounds like some very fine people after him.

Hopefully he’s protected and testifies. And hopefully we won’t have some domestic terrorist try to end him.

there's a chance trump put the GOP in a position where they simply have no choice.

‘COINCIDENCE?’

GOP Shows Russian Trolls How It’s Done With Whistleblower Smear

Trump has joined an army of conservative commentators in pushing a false story involving an obscure government form, a Trump official, and the whistleblower.

From Donald Trump on down, prominent Republicans used part of their weekend to falsely accuse Trump’s hand-picked intelligence community inspector general (IC IG) of secretly changing the requirements for intelligence workers to submit whistleblower tips as part of a deep state plot to clear the way for the Aug. 12 complaint about Trump’s phone call to the president of Ukraine.

The smoking gun in the putative conspiracy is an obscure government form, IC IG ICWSP Form 401, also known as the Disclosure of Urgent Concern Form. The document is put out by the IC IG for intelligence workers who need to file urgent complaints that trigger special treatment under the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act.

According to the GOP and an army of conservative commentators, the old version of the form prohibited workers from submitting urgent complaints based on secondhand information; only misconduct witnessed personally could be reported. That changed in early August, the false claim goes, when ICIG Michael Atkinson snuck through a hasty revision to the complaint form that reversed long-standing policy.

“Whistleblowers were required to provide direct, first-hand knowledge of allegations,” reads a Saturday tweet by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. “But just days before the Ukraine whistleblower came forward, the IC secretly removed that requirement from the complaint form.”

“Records show that the intelligence community quietly revised the formal whistleblower complaint form in August 2019,” Rudy Giuliani tweeted on Sunday. “Eliminating the requirement to have direct, first-hand knowledge of perceived wrongdoing. Coincidence?”

“That was on the form literally until apparently very recently,” said Trump’s other lawyer, Jay Sukulow, in an appearance on Hannity. “Months ago: no first hand information, no report.”

“WOW, they got caught,” tweeted Trump. “End the Witch Hunt now!”

The Atkinson smear comes amid a broad GOP campaign seemingly calculated to discredit the whistleblower report as unreliable, partisan hearsay, despite it having already been corroborated by an IC IG review and confirmed by the White House’s own transcript of Trump’s call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. It began late Friday with a story from the conservative website The Federalist headlined “Intel Community Secretly Gutted Requirement Of First-Hand Whistleblower Knowledge.” The article claimed “the intelligence community secretly revised the formal whistleblower complaint form in August 2019 to eliminate the requirement of direct, first-hand knowledge of wrongdoing.”

“It seems like they are jumping to a lot of conclusions based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the law, the regulatory framework, and the language on one form,” said Julian Sanchez, a senior fellow at the libertarian Cato Institute.

The kernel of fact near the center of the conspiracy theory is that there is, indeed, a new version of Form 401 dated August 2019.

A question on the form explicitly anticipates tips based on secondhand information, and asks the whistleblower to check a box: “I have direct and personal knowledge,” or, “I heard about it from others.” The Federalist used a screenshot of that field to illustrate its story.

What the article didn’t mention or screenshot is a nearly identical field gracing Form 401 since at least May 2018, making it impossible that it was added as an easement for Trump’s whistleblower. The major difference in the fields is that the old form includes three options instead of two, subdividing secondhand sources into outside source and “other employees.”

There’s a reason the form has allowed secondhand reports all along. The requirement for firsthand whistleblowing only is completely made up.

“There’s never been a requirement that a whistleblower have firsthand knowledge of what they’re reporting,” said Irvin McCullough, an investigator at the nonprofit Government Accountability Project (and the son of a former IC IG). “They need to have a reasonable belief. The firsthand information is usually gathered by the inspector general, as I believe did occur here.”

When the IC IG receives an urgent report, it has 14 days to conduct a preliminary review under the law. If that investigation produces enough direct evidence, the IC IG can rule it “credible,” which triggers the legal requirement to forward the report to the director of central intelligence (DCI), and from there to Congress.

The Federalist and supporters of the Atkinson smear also point to a two-page information sheet distributed as part of the May 2018 version of the form but not the August 2019 version. It’s unclear when it was dropped, but a paragraph in that now-excised preamble was headed, “First-Hand Information Required,” seemingly contradicting the form itself. “In order to find an ‘urgent’ concern credible, the IC IG must be in possession of reliable, first-hand information,” the text read in part. “The IC IG cannot transmit information via the ICWPA based on an employee’s second-hand knowledge of wrongdoing.”

Though the text is confusingly drafted—which may be why the entire preamble was canned—a careful reading shows it’s not erecting a new hurdle for filing a whistleblower complaint, but rather describing the type of evidence the IC IG has to gather to judge the complaint “credible” at the end of its 14-day investigation.

"It’s an explanation of the IG’s standard for assessing credibility,” said Sanchez in an interview with The Daily Beast. “The IG isn’t going to forward it to the DNI if it can’t corroborate secondhand or indirect information. The whistleblower’s job is not to investigate. That is the job of the IG.”

In other words, Trump’s whistleblower didn’t go through some shady deep state backdoor. He or she followed the process, and government investigators found the firsthand evidence themselves.

“Complainant was not a direct witness to President’s telephone call with the Ukrainian President on July 25, 2019,” the IC IG wrote on August 26. “Other information obtained during the preliminary review, however, supports the Complainant’s allegation that, among other things, during the call the President ‘sought to pressure the Ukrainian leader to take actions to help the President’s 2020 reelection bid.’”

Trump-Supporting Lawyers diGenova and Toensing Teamed Up With Giuliani to Dig Up Ukraine Dirt on Biden: Report

Fox News cited a U.S. official who said all three were working off the books apart from the administration, and the only person who knew “what they were doing is President Trump.”

In a bombshell report Sunday morning, Fox News reported that two frequent guests on the right-leaning cable news channel were “working off the books” to help former New York City mayor and current presidential attorney Rudy Giuliani dig up dirt on President Donald Trump’s leading Democratic opponent—and that the only person who knew about their involvement was the president himself.

Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace broke the news that Giuliani wasn’t acting alone when it came to digging up Ukrainian dirt on Trump’s potential 2020 presidential opponent Joe Biden.

“Two high-profile Washington lawyers, Joe diGenova, who’s been a fierce critic of the Democratic investigation, and his wife Victoria Toensing were working with Giuliani to get oppo research on Biden,” Wallace said at the top of his broadcast.

“According to a top U.S. official, all three were working off the books apart from the administration,” Wallace added. “The only person in government who knows what they were doing is President Trump.”

Giuliani has denied working with any other attorneys in his quest for Ukrainian-provided information on the Biden family in recent appearances on Fox News, denials that the network’s own reporting now call into question.

“No,” Giuliani told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures, when asked if he had worked with other attorneys. “I didn’t work with anybody to try and get dirt on Joe Biden.”

Requests for comment in response to Wallace’s report from diGenova & Toensing, LLP, their eponymous D.C.-based law firm, were not immediately returned. Requests to Giuliani and the White House have also not been returned.

Both diGenova and Toensing have been frequent guests on Fox’s opinion shows, specifically Hannity and Lou Dobbs Tonight. This week, during an appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, diGenova blasted Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano as “a fool” for assessing that Trump had committed a crime during his July 25 call with the Ukrainian president.

The remarks sparked a multi-day, on-air scuffle between Fox News anchor Shepard Smith and Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Wallace also appeared to join in the internecine fighting over the network’s coverage of the growing scandal, implicitly criticizing the on-air commentary of some of his Fox News colleagues in recent days.

Both Toensing and diGenova have been two of the president’s fiercest defenders for years. Along with being frequent guests on Fox opinion shows and other conservative media outlets, the husband-wife team has had a close relationship with the president for a while.

In March 2018, they were briefly tapped to join Trump’s special counsel legal team. Days later, however, the president decided against hiring the pair.

“The president is disappointed that conflicts prevent Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing from joining the president’s special counsel legal team,” Trump attorney Jay Sekulow said at the time. “However, those conflicts do not prevent them from assisting the president in other legal matters. The president looks forward to working with them.”

Revelations this week that Giuliani had been tasked by Trump to coordinate with Attorney General William Barr and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in investigating unproven allegations of corruption involving Biden, his son Hunter, and a Ukrainian energy company have pushed long-simmering Democratic support for an impeachment inquiry against the president to a rolling boil.

“I will have Mr. Giuliani give you a call, and I am also going to have Attorney General Barr call and we will get to the bottom of it,” Trump told Zelensky on a July 25 phone call, according to a rough transcript of the conversation released by the White House this week.

Trump and Giuliani have, without providing evidence, accused the former vice president and frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination of supporting the removal of a Ukrainian prosecutor to protect Burisma, an energy company advised by his youngest son, Hunter.

“A lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the attorney general would be great,” Trump said on the call with Zelensky, after asking the newly elected president of Ukraine for a “favor.”

“Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution, so if you can look into it... It sounds horrible to me.”

This story is developing.

Trump allies pushed Biden-Ukraine allegations at key moments in campaign timeline

Trump's inner circle was publicly trumpeting articles around the same time as his conversation with the Ukrainian president.

WASHINGTON — As Joe Biden prepared to launch his 2020 presidential bid last April, members of President Donald Trump’s inner circle began publicly pushing unsubstantiated allegations about the former vice president and Ukraine.

The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and Brad Parscale, his 2020 campaign manager, both blasted out links to articles on Twitter within days of each other in early April that painted Biden and his son Hunter as unethical, based on unproven charges stemming from Hunter Biden's work in Ukraine.

Those first mentions, distributed to their combined millions of social media followers, coincided with a spring effort by the president’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani to find damaging information on Biden and preceded, by a matter of days, Trump’s first phone call on April 21 with then Ukrainian President-Elect Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

Four days later, Biden announced his run for office.

The trickle of tweets soon became a steady stream. Over the next four months, Giuliani, Trump Jr., and other top surrogates lobbed accusations at both Bidens at least a dozen times.

By late July, when Trump placed a second call to the Ukrainian leader explicitly asking him to investigate the unfounded claims, the president’s campaign and official super PAC — as well as the Republican National Committee and its chairwoman — had all amplified messages with unverified information about the Bidens and the Eastern European country.

Revelations about Trump’s July call with Zelenskiy in recent days put the early aspersions cast on the Bidens by those eager to re-elect Trump in a new light. A whistleblower complaint also alleges that Giuliani, Attorney General William Barr and others may have assisted with or tried to conceal the president’s attempt to get the Ukrainian government to interfere in the 2020 election by investigating the Bidens.

And Giuliani’s contact with Ukrainian officials and efforts to get them to investigate unproven claims of misconduct by the Biden family — an endeavor he’s said was at the direction of the president and coordinated with the State Department — are now at the center of an impeachment inquiry in the House.

The amplification by Trump’s political allies of the unsubstantiated Biden accusations also suggest any presidential request for an investigation into the former vice president or his family could be a political endeavor, not one aimed at rooting out corruption in Ukraine, as Trump has said.

Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh said it makes complete sense that the president’s political aides would focus on the background of a potential 2020 opponent.

“Hunter Biden’s sweetheart business deals in Ukraine and China are directly linked with his father’s time as vice president and everyone knows it,” Murtaugh said. “We have been talking about this for months. It would be campaign malpractice not to bring this to the attention of voters.”

It’s not the first time that those closest to Trump have shown an openness to political help from foreign actors or dropped clues about significant developments and teased major political implications to come. In 2016, Trump Jr. convened a meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer claiming to have damaging information about then-Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Months later, Giuliani hinted that the campaign had a “couple of surprises” left, just days before unfavorable revelations about Clinton’s email investigation became public.

Giuliani, an outspoken advocate for the president, has a history of flaunting sensitive information, and the allegations about the Bidens and Ukraine this year were no different, according to two former White House officials.

“He talks to everybody about it,” one official said, including urging campaign officials, outside surrogates and donors to push the controversial narrative.

This summer, the Trump campaign’s main account and even the official Republican National Committee account started tweeting about the Bidens and Ukraine, raising questions about how widespread the tactic extended beyond the Trump White House.

The president has argued his conversations with Zelenskiy were intended to eliminate corruption, but a review of Trump’s top surrogates shows a much more targeted approach when it comes to spreading harmful stories that could ultimately hurt his political opponent heading into 2020.

In early May, the official Trump-backed Super PAC posted a Tweet linking to a story with the following headline: “HUNTER BIDEN’S WORK IN UKRAINE EMERGES AS A POTENTIAL 2020 SCANDAL.”

In June, about a month before the president’s second call with Zelenskiy, Trump’s campaign tweeted an imaginary executive order “preventing Joe Biden from steering sweetheart foreign deals to family.” It even included a directive to sign up for campaign text alerts.

Trump Jr. sent at least five tweets between April and August dealing with Hunter Biden’s business arrangements in Ukraine, often linking to stories with damning banners, including: “Eight Things to Know About the Biden Family's Culture of Corruption”

On June 20, GOP chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted: “Weeks after Joe Biden traveled to China and Ukraine as VP, his son cashed in on millions of dollars in foreign money. Even Democrats are calling it a “huge” conflict of interest. Biden needs to come clean about abusing his role as America’s top diplomat.”

Even the president retweeted several messages on Biden and Ukraine earlier this year, including one by former Gov. Mike Huckabee calling out “Biden’s cushy deals w/ Ukraine and China,” ending simply with “#Enough.”

Well this kind of proves they were looking for dirt on Biden. And it ties several others into the scheme.

GOP CONGRESSMAN SLAMS TRUMP FOR QUOTING PASTOR'S WARNING OF 'CIVIL WAR LIKE FRACTURE': 'BEYOND REPUGNANT'

Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger condemned President Donald Trump on Sunday for quoting Pastor Robert Jeffress' warning that impeachment might cause a "Civil War-like" fracture in the U.S.

"If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.' Pastor Robert Jeffress,@FoxNews," the president wrote on Sunday evening in a series of tweets.

In response, Kinzinger tweeted: "I have visited nations ravaged by civil war.@realDonaldTrump. I have never imagined such a quote to be repeated by a President. This is beyond repugnant."

The president's tweet came shortly after Jeffress' appearance on Fox News, where he spoke about the impeachment inquiry into Trump announced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday.

Jeffress, a prominent evangelical pastor of a Texas megachurch who's also a vocal supporter of Trump, has been accused on numerous occasions of making controversial and offensive remarks. In March, he said Christian followers of Trump have "deeper convictions" than other devotees during an interview on Fox News.

"Even though the evangelical number has dropped as a whole, the number of evangelicals turning out at the ballot box is greater than other groups, and it's because evangelicals have deeper convictions," Jeffress said. "They believe in absolute moral and spiritual truth, and they tend to vote those convictions at the ballot box."

In August, Jeffress condemned a church denomination for sheltering migrants and fighting deportations as the White House cracked down on illegal immigration. "The church has no business in doing that. And look, the Bible is very clear about this," Jeffress said. "In Romans 13, Paul says, 'Government is established by God. To resist government is to resist God himself.'"

According to a CBS News poll, released on Sunday morning, a majority of Americans say they support the Democrat-led House's recently-announced impeachment inquiry, with 55 percent of respondents approving of the impeachment inquiry and 45 percent disapproving of the move.

The weekend poll shows a slight rise in public support for the impeachment proceedings as Trump faces increased public scrutiny after a whistleblower accused the White House of covering up a phone conversation made between the president and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky in July, during which the U.S. leader requested his foreign counterpart to look into former Vice President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden.

The last impeachment survey, an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll conducted on Wednesday, found that 49 percent of Americans approved of the impeachment inquiry, while 49 percent disapproved and five percent said they were unsure.

its become clear that MAGA hatters and Trump talking about the deep state is just projection.

Trump and Rudy were running a shadow foreign policy scheme trying to somehow blame ukraine for interference and such instead of russia.

The "deep state" was and always has been Trump, the NRA, and the rest of the administration.

https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2019/09/...-talking-about/

I like Bill Maher. I think he's funny and I think he's pretty straight in his criticism of politics.

It's hilarious that the "Right" general despise him because he has been relentless in his condemnation of Trump. But now that Maher came out and correctly stated that if the Hunter Biden situation was a Trump family affair ... it's all Maddow and some of the other leftist shows would be talking about.

And now all of a sudden Fox and Breitbart and the other right wing outlets are all quoting Maher! LOL.

The Atlantic did a good article Sunday about how what Hunter Biden did was the new norm for US politics... it's sleazy even if it's not illegal.

the problem is that biden's son isn't running for president.

and its being reported that trump's own aides told him that whole conspiracy theory was debunked, and he still tried to run with it.

Those points are both true and relevant.

But the point Maher made, again accurately, is that if the Hunter situation was a Trump/Pence/McConnell situation, we wouldn't stop hearing about it from the Left biased media shows. I agree - and I think the biased reporting and commentary from the left is as bad for our politics as Breitbart and Fox is.

I am not saying anything more than that. What Trump has said/done and then tried to cover up is deplorable.

I think the bias in reporting today is about 2-5 times more biased than pre 2016 election cycle depending on the individuals/shows. And I'd go so far to say it's 10 times more biased than it was pre 1990s.

We are in agreement that Maher is right in his opinion, but some of that can be attributed to neither Biden being in office and much less coverage of the younger Biden. I mean seriously unless you are a hardcore follower of American politics you probably wouldn't have a clue who Hunter Biden is or who his father is IMHO. But that doesn't mean there is nothing swampy about him or any other politician's kid getting these free ride positions in any corporation, let alone a foreign corporation! I heard this morning that this is something that's kind of common... this needs to be fixed. Warren should have a plan for that.

Trump however cannot use this an excuse for what he pulled with Ukraine! He has been told multiple times that there is no there there.

Now Trump is adding fuel to the fire several times a day while trying everything he can to make this go away. This gets more scandalous with everything team Trump does and says.

Why would anyone actually want him removed? He's been the poster child for why to vote for a Democrat in 2020. His habitual lying, his crazy, off the rails rants. He's the best ammunition Democrats have.

The Dems just want to point out what a crook and how devoid of morals and brains he is before the 2020 elections. Keeping him in the White House is the best thing that could happen.

You guys aren't that bright.

So, anyone can make a whistle-blower report based on rumor. Then members of Congress and democrat fan boys have to interpret what Trump said to actually make it sound sinister.

We got the transcript. You got nothing.

They don't really have anything. They'll pretend that they do because they need a re-do since the Mueller investigation was proven to be a sham.

The current investigation will further divide the country, no laws will be passed. The result of this will be just in time for the 2020 election. This is the Dems only chance because they KNOW they won't win in 2020. They don't have any desirable candidates, ANY.

My first whistleblower report.

I've heard through various anonymous, highly placed individuals in government that nancy Pelosi keeps unaccompanied illegal minors in her basement wine cellar so they can peel her grapes. In return, she promises them citizenship that she can never provide.

Erik is once again stating absolute lies. Not only is it NOT required to have first hand knowledge, but even with the revision in August, nothing changed about who can file a complaint.

Erik quoted a guy who got busted on 60 minutes showing that he didn’t read the transcripts, and then quoted the guy who just got subpoenaed by Congress after claiming that the state department was working with him, even though they deny it.

Once again, I post FACTS, and Erik post BS.

Erik regurgitates Trump/Fox/Breitbart propaganda.

But really - there isn't any denial in the fact that Trump leaned on a foreign power to dig dirt on a potential opponent.

There is no denial that Trump is sending Guilliani as a back channel 'unofficial state department' to do the same.

There is no denial that the company that Hunter was associated with was investigated and nothing was found.

There's no denial that Trump had his conversation removed and hidden.

There is no denial that Trump unilaterally and against the advise around him and in government withheld aid to Ukraine.

It's factual (supported by other world leaders who were also doing the same thing) that Bidden was threatening to withhold support in order to remove a corrupt official ... and it had ZERO to do with Hunter.

It's factual that many GOPers have said that what Trump is known to have said / done is "troubling" .... and we don't even have the verbatim transcript yet.
