Actually it's serious. You never address the actual questions that surround all of this. You never actually address what's IN the phone call. How Trump asked Ukraine to "Do me a favor though" to investigate the Hillary e-mail server, (which is nothing more than some far fetched conspiracy theory that it has anything to do with Ukraine.) And he also asked for Ukraine to investigate Biden while holding military aid over their heads. Military aid to fight AGAINST RUSSIA! He went after political rivals ONLY while using United States money as leverage. Money that wasn't his and had been approved to be given to Ukraine by congress.

Your entire viewpoint ignores the obvious facts by using nothing but excuses and throwing shade on those bringing these facts to the table.

It almost sounds like you're trying to get on the Republican ticket to run for senator. Even some of them are left speechless while you carry on....

And you guys completely miss the obvious. It doesn't matter who is running, that doesn't absolve them of a crime or remove them from investigation. You think presidents haven't asked favors in the past? You think they they haven't threatened or withheld funds in the past?

The only link to the campaign is the conjecture of the media.

As I said, bring forth the evidence, and actually hold the impeachment proceedings publicly. Right now it's all behind closed doors and in the media, because they got nothing. The dems know their case will wither in the sunlight of the public, which is why they won't.

Trump hasn't backed off of Hillary's panties since he was elected. It's easy to see and trying to deny it makes no difference.

The House collects the evidence during these hearings. The analogy is a Grand Jury proceeding.

The senate conducts the trial.

Trump will have time to argue his case and defend his actions during the senate trial, if and when it occurs.

He will also be able to call his own witnesses and present his evidence.

The White House position that they have a right to be present or cross examine at this point in time is totally inappropriate. Witnesses may offer different accounts and should not know what others have said.

It will never happen. The dems know they got nothing. There is no crime. There's just a bunch of crybaby dems that can't get over their election loss. Call your congressman.

Yeah, that why they (and you) have to constantly give interpretations on what Trump said. What he actually said doesn't give them a crime. That's why the "whistle-blower" is not going to testify. Read the transcript of the phone call with an open mind and consider the circumstances. The American people are seeing it. At least those who have clear vision.

This time it did come directly from a transcript that was provided by the White House. This time Trump stated in public he expected Ukraine to investigate Biden and he wanted China to investigate it as well. Asking foreign governments to get involved.

This time it won't be tied up for years and is far simpler.

Known fact. Trump delayed hundreds of millions of dollars from Ukraine which was scheduled to be handed over much sooner. They needed military weapons to combat Russia. These are not in dispute from anyone.

Another thing that does not get a lot of mentions was that Zelinsky wanted a meeting in the White House. There appears to have been a requirement for a public announcement by Ukraine that it had opened an investigation on the gas company that H. Biden was on the Board.

A public statement would feed right into the Trump narrative on the Biden's.

Bolton Objected to Ukraine Pressure Campaign, Calling Giuliani ‘a Hand Grenade’

WASHINGTON — The effort to pressure Ukraine for political help provoked a heated confrontation inside the White House last summer that so alarmed John R. Bolton, then the national security adviser, that he told an aide to alert White House lawyers, House investigators were told on Monday.

Mr. Bolton got into a sharp exchange on July 10 with Gordon D. Sondland, the Trump donor turned ambassador to the European Union, who was working with Rudolph W. Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, to press Ukraine to investigate Democrats, according to testimony provided to the investigators.

Mr. Bolton instructed Fiona Hill, the senior director for Russian and Eurasian affairs, to notify the chief lawyer for the National Security Council that Mr. Giuliani was working with Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, on a rogue operation with legal implications, Ms. Hill told the investigators, according to two people familiar with her closed-door testimony.

“I am not part of whatever drug deal Rudy and Mulvaney are cooking up,” Mr. Bolton, a Yale-trained lawyer, told Ms. Hill to tell White House lawyers, according to the testimony.

It was not the first time Mr. Bolton expressed grave concerns to Ms. Hill about Mr. Giuliani. “Giuliani’s a hand grenade who’s going to blow everybody up,” Ms. Hill quoted Mr. Bolton saying during an earlier conversation.

Fiona Hill testified for 10 hours Monday, imagine what else she testified about. Later one rep said she was the most professional witness he had ever seen in a congressional hearing. Others said similar things about her.

Each of the four remaining weekdays this week has another insider testimony scheduled as the Trump team has failed in it's mob-like attempts to prevent all witness testimonies. One of these is Ambassador Gordon Sondland who is now saying he's not sure if Trump told him the truth when Sondland tweeted relaying that there was no quid pro quo with Ukraine.

Go back a few pages, and I speculated that this was an underlying reason behind the Bolton departure.

Having seen the things he has said in his recent interviews, I'm not so sure about that.

I call him the gift that keeps on giving.

He may not be stupid, but somewhere along the way his cheese slipped off his cracker and he lost touch with reality. Therefore, things need to be dumbed down for him to grasp.

Personally, I hope he is perfectly competent so he does all the time he has coming.

No idea if he is senile or acting in the belief that POTUS will pardon him or protect no matter what .... but Rudy has said and done plenty of really, really, supremely dumb stuff in the last 12-18 months.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal grand jury has subpoenaed former Republican Rep. Pete Sessions for information about his interactions with Rudy Giuliani and several associates who were indicted last week.

The former lawmaker from Texas is cooperating with investigators and will turn over documents in the coming weeks, said Matt Mackowiak, a spokesman for Sessions.

Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, is the personal attorney to President Donald Trump.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the subpoena seeks documents about Giuliani's business dealings in Ukraine and his efforts to oust the U.S. ambassador in Kyiv, as well as information about interactions between Sessions, Giuliani and the four men who were indicted in the Southern District of New York.

Those men include two Florida businessmen, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, who are associates of Giuliani and tied to the Ukraine impeachment investigation . They were charged last Thursday with federal campaign finance violations in connection with a $325,000 donation to a group supporting Trump's reelection.

The federal investigation comes as House Democrats pursue an impeachment inquiry into Trump's dealings with Ukraine, including a summertime phone call in which he pressed Ukraine's president to investigate baseless corruption allegations against Democrat Joe Biden. Giuliani had also been asking Ukrainian officials to dig up dirt on Biden and also pushed for the ouster of the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.

Prosecutors allege that Parnas urged a congressman to promote efforts to push out Yovanovitch around the same time that Parnas and Fruman committed to raising more than $20,000 for the politician.

The congressman wasn't identified in court papers, but the donations match campaign finance reports for Sessions, who lost his reelection bid in November. In May 2018, Parnas posted a photo of himself and his business partner David Correia — who was also named in the indictment — with Sessions in his Capitol Hill office, with the caption "Hard at work!!"

Sessions spent 22 years in Congress becoming a powerful Republican voice and the muscle behind the GOP's House takeover of 2010.

Earlier this month, Sessions announced an attempted comeback in his boyhood hometown of Waco, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) south of Dallas, running for a seat being vacated by Rep. Bill Flores, one of six Texas GOP congressmen retiring next year.
