How can a team with so much potential, suck so much?

People can call out Baker or call out the line and that's perfectly fine. But Freddie is THE biggest problem we've had since Week 1 and it trickles down to everything else. He's putrid right now as a head coach. Absolutely putrid.

This is correct. The Browns are not a good team. Freddie has A LOT to learn about this game. I have no idea what the players are thinking but they AREN'T thinking about the game when it is going on. Penalties ARE a lack of focus. This season is also about the lack of preparation in the OFF SEASON. That is on Freddie. The offensive line clearly lacks talent at the tackle position. These guys to get it in gear now that the schedule is much easier. It is year one but the time has come for this group of talent to go out and win the games they are supposed to. Simply showing up will NOT work. They need to raise their level of focus and execution on Sundays. I think they can do it. Not a playoff team by any means but I still think they can win 8 games this year and THAT will be a start.

On to Denver. Have a good week everyone.

After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

Find myself thinking again, this woulda been Pettine and Farmers 7th ish year, they went ?, 7-9 and 4-12 and fired,

Trying to figure in my mind, if they'd been kept, and gone 4-12 each successive later year, would the W-L total be, less than, greater than, or equal to...

It's Crazy, but, it's my brain, ( I liked Pettine and Farmer), oh well,

Only the Browns:

1. Have their RB fumble because his teammate actually kicked the ball out of his hands, giving up a scoop and score

2. Fumble inside the 10 after a 40-yard scamper.

And then turn a simple shovel pass into an INT.
All of those in consecutive offensive snaps

Pettine and Shanahan were probably the best combo since the return.

I just cant get over the fact that Pettine wouldn't talk to the players during games. That was so weird.

-OBJ trade for a 1st, 3rd and Peppers.
-2nd round pick Corbett busted didn't last one season
-Zietler traded for Vernon and a swap of late round picks.

Every move has been an abject failure thus far. Yes he aquired Kareem Hunt on the cheap but I don't think any amount of talent will right this ship. We have a complete break down in coaching, offense looks like a bunch of guys playing back yard ball.

I agree with Milk Man's post to a T.

I thought the OL was improved.
I thought Baker was improved.
I thought the D was good enough to win.

What didn't improve:
Freddy's game management.
Freddy's challenging of plays.
Freddy's play calling.
Team discipline - which I personally attribute to coaching.

The biggest single issue with the team is the Head Coach. I'm not calling for him to be fired coz he is a rookie HC and was expected to struggle and be on a learning curve .... that said, he does need to show improvement. I don't see it yet. We've talked about a lack of offensive identity .... I think I know what it is. We are the "Too cute, outsmarting no-one" team.

Where did our play action passing game go? Wasn't this working well for us last year? Now we hardly see it, it really burns me up when I think about it.

I hated what Freddie did in the offseason and preseason. I felt like like he was being arrogant and over confident with an inexperienced QB and new players like OBJ joining the team. People told me I had Browns’ syndrome and needed to trust the great change that was coming. I see better than I hear. Freddie did not prepare this team for the season, and doesn’t prepare them for the games. He is a poor game day coach. Everything about him sucks right now. I blame him for another crappy start to a season. We will win some with a weak schedule coming up, but it will be the normal fool’s gold that means nothing. I have no faith in Freddie right now. None.

Let's be fair.

This is the most talented team the Browns have fielded since 1999.
Dorsey excels at assembling talent.

He failed on picking coaches after last season.
Maybe options were limited, or maybe he didnt try to talk to all options.
I dont know.

I do know that Dorsey wants to win NOW.
So there will be none of this "Losing for Continuitys sake" crap.

I'd guess we will do interviews after the season.

Back to a post game thought...

I thought Baker had a controlled game today and went a log way to correcting his habit of leaving the pocket. The weird shovel pass notwithstanding I thought his game was solid and not really filled with a lot of mistakes. He also had positive plays called back.

I still believe in Bakers ability to be a franchise QB. However, he has to absolutely hit Harris up the sideline wide open for a TD. Elite QBs don't miss that throw.

If Freddie is a goner, it's got to be McDaniels. It's the only move that would make any sense.
