Heard we trading for Mingo!

Good luck with that, Jets. Uh yeah. They signed him to a huge deal that no other team was willing to pay him, and a few months later some team is going to willingly give up draft picks to take him on? I guess they wouldn't be on the hook for the signing bonus, but still ... At any rate, the Jets should be keeping Bell. He helps to take the heat off Darnold while he's learning to play the position. I'm not sure why coaches insist on putting all the pressure on their young QBs when they are first developing. Most of the "great" QBs had really good RBs to lean on when they were first cutting their teeth in the league.

a 2nd & a 4th is the absolute most I'd give up.
As for the Avery trade, I really think the emergence of Mack Wilson as a player that can both rush the passer AND cover is what made Avery expendable.

I would rather have packaged Avery with TJ Carrie and sent him to the Eagles for their backup LT. Then some mid round flips of picks to balance it all out.
They obviously wanted Avery and they need Cb help I think that would have made sense for both teams and a better more likely to be made deal than Trent

If that's the ask then this is an extreme long shot. Time to move on to Nate Solder or the giant Tongan dude.

It takes two to tango, and you have to also consider whether their backup LT is worth trading for. If he isn't a significant, no-brainer upgrade over what we have, then he is not worth it. Also, that makes him less likely to be traded for a backup LB/DE hybrid and a backup CB.

I think it sounds reasonable on our part. They realize nothing without a trade. We are placed in a good spot it seems. How much can he help us? I am willing to bet on him over what we have. But not a one. That is trade bloat on their part and wishful deluded thinking IMO. Lots of past: PBs and injuries. But what does he bring now, and what kind of shelf life?

At this point what's the point? I doubt he is in football shape. Going to take him atleast a month to get to be. If you try to rush him in there after a week or two he will just get hurt

In the end I think Williams gets traded today. WAS was biding their time to get the best offer or hope to get blown away at some point by a team during the season. Now, they'll take what deal remains and move on. Just my guess.

Not me. Ward has too much upside at his age and talent level to give him up for a 31yr od aging LT that if you trade for, you will also HAVE to extend.

3 First rounders plus Williams, I would do it. They are going to have top 5 picks the next three years, most likely top 3. Ward although a supreme talent, cant stay on the field.

Would you rather Ward, or Chase Young opposite Myles?

3 First rounders plus Williams I don't think that is something Washington would realistically consider offering.

We still have 9 very winnable games out of 9 left, and will be favored in AT LEAST 7 of them, if not 8.

Would you rather Ward, or Chase Young opposite Myles? Ward based on the current team composition. I think a #1 CB has more value for us (coupled with his NFL experience) than trying to get another elite pass rusher. We already have the games best and can function with another one that doesn't need to be elite. Trading Ward w/ an unknown CB in Greedy is like trading Zeitler and hoping Corbett pans out. But this is under the pretense of getting those first rounders from Washington that I think would be unrealistic. But don't get me wrong, I love Chase.

I am saying 3 first because it wouldn't happen, meaning no way we trade ward to them unless it was for something INSANE. Which you said, you don't think Wash would trade 3 1st for him, says that if they were willing, they we should make the trade, does it not? Also, you still have 2 other first to get another CB to replace ward. So with trading ward, you could get another supreme pass rusher, another top CB, and probably a top LB or another top OL if you want. Given those picks would have to pan out, but dang man, I would have to consider that for real.

I really just dont understand this. Why give up so much for a 31 year old LT who is probably not in football shape? Not to mention we would have to extend him....pointless. we can draft a LT and it will be much cheaper.....we are already going to be in salary cap hell in a few seasons anyways if we make this trade

I'm getting all warm and fuzzy thinking about the Oweiler and a 2nd rounder.

The only thing left for the Dolphins to do is make the right picks.
That means tanking another year for Lawrence.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Dan Graziano @DanGrazianoESPN One note on Trent Williams: A holdout player who doesn't report before the trade deadline would have to be formally reinstated by the commissioner's office at the team's request in order to play this year. May not matter, he doesn't want to play for Wash anyway. But noteworthy.
