I workout at the gym almost everyday. I do 45 mins. of cardio and I try to do 3 sets of 10 reps on the weight machines. Do I really need to do 3 sets of 10? I'm asking because I have to bring my daughter with me to the gym and I swear she knows when I'm almost done because right after my 2nd set I am being paged because she's had enough and is ready to go home. I still feel the same "muscle burn" with 2 sets as compared to 3. Any input would be great! Thanks! Lisa

I have a personal training certification and background, and run a gym.
There's actually an exercise science debate on 1 vs. 3 sets.
Without getting too much into it (you can always PM me with more detailed questions), it depends what your goal is (strength vs. endurance/tone), are you a beginner (been doing it less than 2 weeks) or do you already have the muscular "endurance" built up (you've been on a program for a month or two), how often you're doing strength training (weights), and what exercises your doing to condition the muscle group.

heh, I really don't think the problem is the exerise regimen, but the fact that your daughter has you trained pretty well Try some NyQuil or something, she should let you finish your wokrout without a problem

No, if she starts to cry and doesn't stop I get paged to go to babysitting to pick her up. Nyquil? You mean for me? I'd fall asleep!

THAT is what the NyQuil is for You could try a Benadryl as well.
