Dear Mr. Tripp,

Thank you for your e-mail and continued interest on NFL Sunday Ticket™. This is the 11th year in which we offer the NFL Sunday Ticket to our subscribers.

You are correct in your estimation, Mr. Tripp. As we add more sports to our exclusive line-up (MLB, Spanish League, the English Premier), all these events require additional capacity during the weekend. We were faced with the difficult decision of having to re-allocate our capacity to prioritize the sports which receive the highest demand and rating.

Notwithstanding, we wanted to maintain the value of the offer of the NFL by providing at least 5 to 6 games each Sunday on the Ticket and adding the Red Zone channel, produced in Los Angeles in our DIRECTV studios. Though Red Zone does not substitute the benefit of having all the games live and available at your fingertips, we do hope it is a nice plus, considering the goal of the channel to maintain the fans continually informed of all the games occurring. We do calculate that we will still offer up to 100 games this season for our Ticket subscribers. As you know, the Red Zone channel and NFL Sunday Ticket are both exclusive products of DIRECTV®.

Now, regarding your opinion regarding the quality of the games and the specific interest in the Cleveland Browns (especially if Brady Quinn plays), I will definitely take that into consideration and work with our operations teams to select the best games (dependent on their availability). Since it is the beginning of the season and only two weekends have been played, it is hard to judge which games would be great or poor (save, of course, the appearance of the continuous contenders such as the: Colts, Patriots, Chargers, Bears). Note: I realize that it is still not soothing news considering your Browns affiliation, but I do want to be completely honest with you as a valued client.

I realize this e-mail does not provide much comfort for your complaint. Believe me that it was a difficult decision from our management. Notwithstanding, it was a required decision considering the other priorities and products (as mentioned above). I’m still confident that DIRECTV is offering the best NFL offer in the region and we continue to value the NFL Sunday Ticket. We will seek to continue to improve our game selection.

Once again, thank you for your e-mail and valued opinion, Mr. Tripp. We will certainly consider it as we seek to improve the product. It would be a true shame to lose your valued business to our competitors.

Kindest regards,

Sandro

Ps – Congratulations on the win against Cincinnati this past weekend. Looking back at the outcome of the game and the incredible score, it definitely would’ve been a great game to broadcast.

Move to Canada, dude.
If suddenly my cable company started blacking out Browns games, I'd be telling people off over the telephone.

How about including your original message? I have no idea what this is about. Are you complaining because they didn't show the Browns on the Red Zone channel?

Water, You should ask them that since one of the reasons they cut your number of games was due to having a limited capacity but wanting to show other sports, including MLB, if they'll bring back those other games once the baseball season is over with.

I have , for the last four years signed up for the Sunday Ticket down here in Latin America . We are stuck with DirectvLa ( an ugly second cousin on your fathers side , lol ) .. As in the States , we received all the games on Sunday ( the Ticket ) .. Now this year we will be lucky to get half on any given Sunday ( same price as always )

Example : There were eight ( 8 ) games at 1:00 , we got " Three " .. And not the Browns ' Cin . game .. The main reason I have DirectvLa down here is for the Ticket ..

Wow, that sucks.

What's with these co's? TimeWarner won't provide the NFL Network or Big Ten Network anytime soon and now directv is changing their sunday ticket? I just don't get some of these companies...

Notwithstanding your situation, Directv will hopefully show more Browns games in HD, notwithstanding the opponent the Browns play that week, notwithstanding.

How long is Direct TV's contract with the NFL? I imagine that once the contract is up, the NFL will supply all of the games in a subscriber package on the NFL Network.

There is alot of $$$ going to Direct TV with Sunday Ticket

It does......unless the game is broadcasted locally!

The thing is....not a lot of HD for the Browns until they improve their record!

I just canned my NFL Sunday Ticket today!

The thing that got me fired up in the first place was , no notice of change . We have always had the NFL. Sunday package ( the while nine yards ) . So you call and tell them you want it for another season , confirm the rate , turn on the TV. and get less than half of the normal package ????????

I had a few customer service issues the past couple of weeks with Direct TV!

They should not charge a $80 fee to come out and check the signal...and I should not be expected to cut down the neighbors trees!

Six years of subscribing.......just decided the Sports Bar is a better place for me!

Oh my...please tell me this is just for Latin America.

Must be because I got the game last week.

I hope they don't pull anything like that here.

Water...I feel your pain brother...honestly, I'd move.

Question..

1) If you get the Browns games locally then why get the Sunday Ticket? I live in NE PA and I got the ticket (no longer have it) to watch all Browns games..

2) When does the contract end with Direct TV, I don't think it is for at least another 2-3 years.

I work as Directv tech and the contract with nfl sunday ticket is through 2017-2018. Last year we were told that directv signed a new 10 year contract with nfl to be only carriers of ticket. Sorry man that sucks real bad.

At some point that will get overturned IMO. If I remember correctly it was ruled that MLB couldn't do a contract like that...

If directv is smart they will add a web feature like mlb.tv.

Well that is straight from directvs mouth and believe me if directv paid enough like a ungodly amount, dont for one minute think a deal like that cant happen and or stay in place.
