#9 Justin Laborce was taken from my old high school is in an induced coma with a staff infection, he is in very critical condition.My prayers go out to him and his family. This effects me because him and my nephew are very close friends.

The players all wore #9 at the game. Good news is that hes opened his eyes. Hes not out of the woods yet though.

Hes back!!!!!! Direct quote from the mother

"Justin came home from the hospital this evening. He is very tired, but other than that is doing great. A lot of his friends were here to greet him. It is soooo nice to have him home and almost completely well. He continues to be on antibiotics for this mystery illness. He was adimant last night that he would be coming home today and he did what he had to do to make it happen. This boy never ceases to amaze me. He is so strong willed!!

Upon being discharged, the diagnosis given was "Toxic Shock Syndrome". Possibly caused by the staph infection in his ankle, but not confirmed. It is just something we will never know. Once again, the staph in his ankle was nothing more than what you would find in any average ouchie!! Something just got hold of him and tore through him. That is all we will ever know!! With some rest and relaxation, things should return to normal. He just has to regain his strength and everything should be ok. He has to do some follow up labs, but that's about it.

I want to once again thank everybody for their thoughts and prayers. They quite obviously worked!! We are eternally grateful. We were overwhelmed at the outpouring of support for Justin. That just showed us that we are part of a great community (and state) and we feel blessed to be a part of it!! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE NEAR AND FAR THAT PRAYED FOR HIM!!

To those of you that have been feeding my other kids, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I kinda neglected them through all of this. (bad mommy) I don't even know who all has dropped off food because they said there were days that they came home and food was waiting on the porch for them. So to all of you, THANKS!!"
