I want this (and any other similar) photo posted all over the locker room and on every classroom bulletin board.
I want players to see this every day... and start making plans now.
I'm generally a fairly level-headed guy, but in this case, I want to see this cowardazz punk skull drug all day long. Old school-style. Break a thumb in a scrum. Step on his neck after a sack. A good coach would advise against behavior like this, but as a fan I think it's high time CLE stopped playing puss and start playing real hardass AFCN football.

Copy that, buddy ... and that was Rudolph's second go at Myles' junk. This was his first: Where I'm from, that gets your ass kicked.

That was my thought after the game. How many times have we allowed Pittsburgh to smack us around? No one did anything when James Harrison was concussing massaqiou and Robiskie on the same drive. Finally a brown is forced to defend himself, does it spectacularly (Myles went a bit too far, ) . 'Here's how you take off a helmet, Mason' .

Mason’s the coward in all this. He has to attack when Myles is being distracted by two other guys. What Myles did was wrong, but so is what Goddell did.

I am sure that the League hates the fact that these pictures are all over the internet.

And this is WAY worse than what Garrett did. I agree
Garrett didn't take the helmet off in order to use it as a weapon. I think this is a reasonable assumption. He just didn't have time to think as he was being pushed and charged at. This is a little shaky. He had plenty of time to drop the helmet. He just swung his hand not thinking. This I don't believe is reasonable and completely guessing and or wishful thinking. I am pretty sure he knew he had the helmet in his hand when he swung. The whole thing took place in a few seconds. Anyone who's ever been in a fight knows you don't have time to think about stuff like opening your hand. True, except when in a fight, you know if you have a "weapon" in your hand and more than likely you will use it.
That's what makes me so mad. Everyone acting like Garrett did a monstrous pre-planned thing. He was being attacked and swung lightly He didn't swing lightly. David De Castro in his way merely made his swing awkward and less forceful...had he not been there...this could have been far uglier. on his back foot as he was moving away responding to violence coming at him. He definitely was responding instinctively to an attack.
Makes me sick. Honestly if Garrett just took it off and bashed him while he was on the ground, I'd be better with it, cuz I'd just say "wow, what a monster, he should be cut." but it wasn't like that AT ALL. No it isn't like it has been portrayed at all, but it was still pretty bad.
But ofc since he plays for the Browns they need to find a way to screw us the rest of the season.
Should be 4 game suspension max. I agree
I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...

Making excuses why a football player strikes another football player wearing no helmet in the head with a helmet is not doing anyone any favors.
Sure Rudolph instigated it. That's still no excuse for attacking Rudolph with a helmet and hitting him in the head with it while he was helmetless.
Myles manned up and admitted how wrong it was. Baker said how wrong it was. Yet some on here makes it sound macho. It's not.
I understand wanting Rudolph to also be suspended. I share that view. I understand that he started it. And that's certainly an argument that should be made. I understand people being upset that a lot of the media has shown angles of the event that doesn't tell the entire story.
But none of that, none of it, excuses what Myles did. I just have to say that I'm glad to see that Myles understands this. That Baker understands this and it seems management understands this. It's sad that some of our fans don't.

Yes, because it was televised nationally; nobody had to spend weeks digging to find video of it by which time most people had stopped caring.
The most important thing: Browns Win. Won by a Myles Actually, the RAy Rice stuff was televised nationally over and over again when the video leaked.

When the video leaked... long after it actually happened.
This was real-time, live, in your living room with announcers giving commentary as it happened.

True, it doesn't change the fact it was still there, on national TV over and over again. Live on TV is no difference than being show later. A person is still only going to see something for the first time once. doesn't matter if it was live on tv or from a week ago, its going to have the same feeling the first time you see something.

I'm just curious when employers started punishing their employees the same way when they're not at work as they do when they are at work?
Example;
You're caught driving a company vehicle drunk on company time.
You get a DUI on the week end on your own time in your own car.
For the most part, unless you drive for a living, your DUI on the week-end in your own car doesn't really impact your job. Yet driving the company car at work drunk will get you fired. It's not really that complicated.

Are you saying Ray Rice shouldn't have been punished for beating a women, but Myles should for the helmet thing cause he was on the field and rice wasn't?

The way I read that bunch of posts is that the helmet swing happened on TNF. It's not too much of an exaggeration to say that everyone in America was watching it, as it happened. Ray Rice played out over a longer period of time. Granted, this didn't happen, but it's far more likely that a story that drips out over a shorter period of time will garner less interest and less urgency from the league. IMO, a better example is a hypothetical. Some news outlet grabs the video, or gets another camera angle, and shows Rudolph mouthing a racial slur. ESPN et al. have already moved on to the next week's stories and don't pick it up. That part of the story dies on the vine, yielding no discipline.

No, that's really not what I'm saying. I'm just saying that an incident at work is generally seen as a greater infraction than an incident that isn't at work by your employer.

Gotcha, thank you for clarifying your response. Idk if I agree, lets say a DUI happens at work, that's greater than a murder in your own time? Maybe Ray Lewis can help clarify with that

Lets do it this way....
Instead of comparing Myles to Rudolph, lets take Myles actions out of it altogether.
Why did OGI get a game for pushing Mason, when Mason got nothing for kicking another player? And Then why did Pouncy get a game for kicking someone, when mason got nothing for kicking someone?

Not only that, but Troy Aikmans reaction was as if Clark Griswold really did wake up with his head sewn in the carpet. He acted like it was the worst thing he had ever seen.

I realize it's not the same, but I can't help but wonder where the national/social media outrage was when OBJ was getting choke-dragged across the field in the Ravens game.
I mean, hands are deadly weapons and are used by murderers plenty of times to suffocate others by choking. Yet that was pretty much ignored by anyone other than Browns fans, and the Ravens organization just straight up lied about the video evidence.
Again, I realize it's on a different level and I am not excusing what Myles did, but it just was something that popped in my head yesterday.

Ok, so let's say I can agree that Ogi was escalating it by knocking Rudolph down.. then what was Rudolph doing when he went back after Garrett while DeCastro was moving Myles away from the situation and diffusing it? I don't see one single way, anybody can convince me that Rudolph doesn't deserve more than Obi when all is said and done.

LMAO - between Aikman and Joe Buck the only things missing were the guy wailing "Oh the humanity!" at the Hindenburg Disaster, and maybe Aunt Bea exclaiming "Oh my heavenly stars and garters!" as if she accidentally walked into a Chippendale show.

The league has sent the message that a QB can do whatever he wants to anyone on the field, with no repercussion from the league, whatsoever. No wonder why Myles thought he had to take matters into his own hands.

If you get hit in the crotch, you're thinking about it. Not what's in your hand or what's going on around you. Even with a cup on if you get kicked square in the junk it's something that grabs a hold of your attention. When the person who kicked you there runs at you and swings in the general direction of that part of your anatomy, your focus is on not getting hit there again. Rudolph was possibly just reaching for his helmet, but the helmet wasn't what Myles was thinking about. He was thinking about not taking another blow beneath the belt.
Intent should be considered. If the person handing down the punishment can get kicked in the groin and then not respond when the same person swings in that direction again, he's a rare man.

I think if Myles would have dropped the helmet, he still would have swung at him, but of course without the helmet.
Him holding on to it, and being rushed by Rudolph, you're naturally gonna swing.

Players don't wear cups anymore. Some do, some don't. Apparently those playing the Steelers should. the vast majority do not. This was actually being talked about the other day with Jerrod Cherry on TNL. he said its actually more dangerous cause if your hit there the cut can do more damage than good. It also causes reduction in movement and speed, and well...chaffing. https://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/09/sport...-no-thanks.html

You can overcome that natural instinct and use a more measured response but as human beings our natural instinct is to defend ourselves and win the fight.. it's not to make it fair, it's to win.

I guess I should have said "a reasonable response" to use a weapon.
