Dolphins just lost their RB...I can't see us losing this game. That said, I AM NOT overlooking them and looking ahead at Pitt, nor should the team. But if we lose to Miami there is trouble in Berea.
And as far as putting himself before the team, I think it was Baker who put his brand before the team when he kicked Myles to the curb answering a question that could have very easily been deflected.
What? Where people think something this has ever happened blows my mind. People can hate Mayfield all you want, but he's never had a "brand" let alone put it before the team. I have no idea why some insist on making Baker a "me" player when nothing is further from the truth.
And moving off that, I felt the Denver game was an easy win. So, anything is possible here. We didn't lose that one because of Mayfield, however. The defense blew that one. But with that said we have the talent to win big even without Garrett. It's just a matter of who wants this one more. If our coaching has us prepared, we win easily.
This game will probably be the indicator on how the future goes for the browns. If we lose, these coaches almost certainly won't return.
I predict no one will swing a helmet at another player in this game.
we’ll see
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
If it's one thing Freddy has proven, it's that he will be hyper aggressive play calling at all times, whether it makes sense or not. I think the root of this is him trying to prove he can drive the Ferrari faster than a motor home. So no way he comes out running the ball, he will try to put up 40 on the Dolphins.
I also think Baker got very conservative after the picks in early games and has slowly started to come out of his shell. He will double down on that Sunday.
Couple these facts with this is the first truly bad D they have played all year and the Browns O will be looking to make a statement. Could be a monumental success or a bad back fire if we get consecutive 3 and outs, or picks, chasing big plays. If given a chance Dolphins O can score especially on our depleted D.
So for me this game is either a big blow out for the Browns or way to close. I'll go with the blow out Browns 45 - 20
I'm worried about this one because it IS the perfect trap game, and we absolutely are not a group that can afford to look past ANY team, not even these hapless Dolphins or the Bengals.
That said, I can see us coming out and hitting on all cylinders like we did against Tampa Bay in the preseason. I can also see us running into a brick wall and imploding like we did against the Titans, however..... it will be interesting to see.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
I want this team to take MIA seriously. I want them to prepare like true professionals. Sweat the details, perfect the product- and lay total waste to marine mammals...
Quoted from another thread, but brought here because this is EXACTLY what I hope to see.
If Greenpeace isn't organizing a protest outside 76 Lou Groza Blvd over our treatment of marine mammals by the end of this game, we did not do our jobs against Miami.

First of all, I don't hate Baker Mayfield. I'm a Browns' fan and he's our QB. I want him to succeed. I just differ with those applauding his statement to Erin Andrews on national TV. I wish he would have left those pronouncements to the front office and ownership. Any athlete as PR savvy as Baker should have easily been able to come up with a non-answer-answer to Andrews' question, in the interest of team unity and in fairness to his teammate, Myles Garrett.
As far as Baker "not having a brand", I think you are being a little naïve, or maybe just misinformed. Please see the link below:

I think most QBs have a winning record against us, especially ones that have been starting mostly since 2005....I'd be more impressed for ones that have a losing record against us lol
Andy freakin' Dalton is 11-4 against the Browns... You'd be hard pressed to find a guy with at least 3 starts against the Browns who doesn't have a winning record.

Well the dolphins put both of their starting safeties on IR today...
There is zero excuse for Baker and OBJ not to be up to speed this game.
The problem is it seems the more of these situations are present in a game, the worse the Browns seem to do. Our ability to make backups look like All-Stars is absolutely uncanny.
"I'll take your word at face value. I have never met you but I assume you have a face..lol"

You gotta admit... Since 1999, it's the one area we have always excelled.

Yeah we never fair all that well, all I know is Freddie better have this team synced...there is no reason for us to loose this week, and that does scare me lol

U and many of our fellow dawgs are severely underrating the fish .... and our team is a shell of itself from even last week ....
Losing MG can fire up guys to the moon and back ... no matter how fired up they get it won’t make up for the LOSS OF TALENT that we just suffered ...
Crap ... we may be w/o 3/4th’s of our DL ... we have ZERO PASS RUSH now .... no one that needs double teaming ..... but hey ... we’ll be fired up so no worries ... ...
I’d flip a coin ... maybe give us a slight edge cause were at home ...
Miami’s O is WAY BETTER than the one we faced Thursday night ... and were down MG and OBI ..... its like most of ya’all have no clue the impact thats gonna have cause were now a much “closer” team with all this motivation ....
next sunday .... no MG ... no pressure on Mason .. JuJu and Connor possibly back .... OH VEY!!! But lest i forget ... we’ll be fired up ... ...

You were predicting big things for the season. You assured everyone that your astute eye told you we'd be dominant, that Freddie was ready, and that we had so much talent it was almost a given. You stated that you, the eternal pessimist who had cautioned many posters over the years to temper their expectations, knew the difference between a winning team and a losing team.
You were wrong about all of it.
Now we've essentially lost one really good player and are going against the 29th rated O and D, and we should be concerned.
LOL
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Lol, this is hysterical. Mr. Isle of Optimism.
The Dolphins are horrible. They beat a lousy Jets team and a Colts team w/ Hoyer at the helm. Hoyer turned the ball over every chance he could.
My goodness, what a time to tuck your tail and run (reminds me of the Brady Quinn era).
I’m going to say it’ll be closer than the spread, but we pull away late

Fitzmagic scares me a little. If he gets one of his hot streaks, he looks like one of the best qb's in the league. But other than that, come on it's the Dolphins. If we can't beat the Fins down a couple defensive lineman then we might as well blow the roster up and start all over again.
I do agree it will be closer than many think but I'll call it at 27-20 browns win.
