GO BUCKS! Does anyone know if this is on sop cast? Preview - Box Score - Recap Game Info: 3:30 pm EDT Sat Sep 22, 2007 By DAN PIERINGER, STATS Writer Eighth-ranked Ohio State passed its first big test of the season last weekend to tie the school record for most consecutive regular season wins. Now, the Buckeyes look to establish a new mark when they begin their quest for a third straight Big Ten title in their conference opener against Northwestern on Saturday. After an unimpressive first half last Saturday, Ohio State (3-0) outscored Washington 30-7 in the second half to win 33-14 in Seattle. The Buckeyes, who looked sloppy in a 20-2 win over lowly Akron just a week earlier, scored the first 24 points of the second half. "I thought we progressed," coach Jim Tressel said. "We know there's a lot more to go and we've got to get a lot better in many, many areas but, again, it was a good challenge against a good team." Quarterback Todd Boeckman sparked the rally with a 68-yard touchdown pass to Brian Robiskie on Ohio State's first drive of the third quarter. Boeckman, who was 14-for-25 for 218 yards, has thrown two touchdown passes in each of his three starts since he replaced last season's Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith. "He's everything you want in a quarterback," senior offensive lineman and team co-captain Kirk Barton said. The victory was the Buckeyes' 21st straight in non-bowl games, matching the team's record set from 1967-69. It was also Tressel's 200th career victory - tied for the third-most among active coaches. Virginia Tech's Frank Beamer also notched his 200th win on Saturday, while Florida State's Bobby Bowden and Penn State's Joe Paterno have 368 and 366 wins, respectively. Tressel has a good chance of adding to his total on Saturday if Chris Wells can continue his recent surge. The sophomore running back ran for 135 yards and a touchdown against Washington, and has posted the first two 100-yard rushing games of his career in his last two contests. Wells' previous career high was 99 yards against Northwestern in Ohio State's 54-10 win last year. Boeckman and Wells will carry the offensive load, but the Ohio State defense has been the team's greatest asset so far this season. The Buckeyes have allowed only 197.0 yards per game, third fewest in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Linebacker James Laurinaitis, last year's Nagurski Award winner as the nation's best defensive player, had two interceptions and a key sack last Saturday. The Buckeyes have been ranked in the Top 10 in each of their last six meetings with the Wildcats. They're 5-1 in those games to improve to 57-14-1 in the series. Their one loss to Northwestern in that stretch, however, came in a Big Ten opener after the Buckeyes went undefeated in non-conference games. Northwestern sent Ohio State to the first of three straight losses with a 33-27 win on Oct. 2, 2004. This year's Wildcats, however, will need to overcome a disheartening loss in order to knock off the Buckeyes. After Northwestern (2-1) marched to a first-and-goal at the 7-yard line with 38 seconds remaining on Saturday, quarterback C.J. Bacher threw four straight incomplete passes to seal a 20-14 loss to Duke. It was Duke's first win in 23 games and its first road win since Nov. 22, 2003. Northwestern outgained Duke 506-309, but had 13 penalties for 125 yards. "We had so many self-inflicted wounds," coach Pat Fitzgerald said. "It doesn't matter how much you move the ball, it squashes momentum and plays such a negative toward you as far as your mind-set." The Wildcats played without running back Tyrell Sutton, who was sidelined by an ankle injury. Sutton -- an Akron, Ohio, native -- could return to face the Buckeyes. "I feel pretty confident that he's going to play," Fitzgerald said. Sutton's return would be a big lift for a Northwestern team that hasn't won in Columbus since 1971. The Wildcats have lost their last 13 games at Ohio Stadium, where the Buckeyes have won 39 of their last 42 games overall. It's on TV in Florida! But, it said in the info bar in my TV Guide that viewers in Chicago and Ohio won't see the game on ESPN? Instead there showing Michigan and Penn State? Is this true for you guys?

Finally, I get to see an OSU game. UCF is playing Memphis today, but I've got no tickets. Go Bucks!
I want the Cleveland Browns to be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the last time.

Brighthouse is showing the Bulls on ESPN, not Ohio State!
ABC is covering the Gators!
I guess your provider must be Verizon!

I typically stay out of these threads since I'm not a Buckeyes fan, but the excitement level is out of hand for this game... I know there are four posts for a 14-0 start, but its Northwestern... who lost to Duke... who lost 22 games before beating Northwestern. Anything beyond "TD OSU!" is completely out of control for this game. j/k
