Speaking of the black vote, I've recently been on a polling binge on a variety of topics and came across this:



I'm very skeptical of polls considering how many pollers and media outlets made fools of themselves in 2016 as a result of them. Further I don't know among polling organizations, timing, and sample sizes how legit this is or how it compares. But this has been something I've seen as of late. Rasmussen has been talking about this as well.

W/o digging into what's behind the article too much, I get the feeling that this is one of those times Diam is right ("stats are for losers").

And of course there are attacks on Mayor Pete since he's now a legitimate threat to the far left wingers.

Promote the geriatric crowd and blow the 2020 election. It seems you're hell bent on that being your goal.

I have a favorite, but I have no goal or agenda. I'm simply posting relevant news. I just seem to remember you making a similar argument against my beliefs recently... that was why I mention you.

Bloomberg pilfers top Harris campaign aide

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s entry into the 2020 presidential race has stolen away a lot of media space from other challengers, but now he’s also taking staffers from his fellow Democratic hopefuls.

Advisers to Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., believe that her plunge in the polls over the summer was accelerated by a withering attack in a primary debate in July by Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, that left the then-front-runner reeling and donors “alarmed,” according to a new report about her struggling presidential bid.

In a lengthy deep-dive into the California senator’s struggles on the campaign trail, The New York Times on Friday reported that many Harris advisers point to a July debate moment between Gabbard and the senator as “accelerating” her decline in the polls.

In that debate in Detroit, Mich., Gabbard took aim at Harris’ record as a prosecutor, saying she was “deeply concerned” about it.

"There are too many examples to cite but she put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana," Gabbard said.

She also blasted Harris for maintaining the cash bail system which, she argued, disproportionately hurt poor people. Gabbard accused Harris of keeping prisoners beyond their sentence in order to use them as "cheap labor" as well as blocking evidence that would have "freed an innocent man from death row."

"The bottom line is, Senator Harris, when you were in a position to make a difference and impact in these people's lives, you did not," Gabbard responded.

It was the latest in a series of attacks from Gabbard — and Harris' advisers were reportedly unimpressed, especially as she had been prepped on potential attacks on her record. Harris responded then claiming that she had consistently fought against the death penalty and reformed the criminal justice system.

According to the Times, several of Harris’ donors were “alarmed” and urged the campaign to fire back at Gabbard. Harris was also aware that her response was “insufficient,” a view “reinforced by her advisers” according to the Times.

Harris' advisers were also frustrated at the senator’s alleged inability to “carry a message beyond the initial script.”

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls for the nomination, Harris was in second place in early July, commanding an average of 15 percent of primary voters. But since then, she has declined quickly.

Now, RCP polls have her with an average of just under 4 percent — far behind candidates such as former Vice President Joe Biden (27 percent), Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. (18.3 percent), Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. (15.8 percent), and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg (11 percent).

Harris attemped to hit back at Gabbard this month, accusing her on spending “the course of this campaign criticizing the Democratic Party.”

“What we need in November is someone on this stage who has the ability to win, someone who has the ability to go toe to toe with Donald Trump, and someone who has the ability to rebuild the Obama coalition and bring the country back together,” Harris said.

But Gabbard hit back.

“What Senator Harris is doing, is, unfortunately, continuing to traffic in lies and smears and innuendos because she cannot challenge the substance of the argument that I’m making,” she said.

“This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly,” Kelly Mehlenbacher, then the state operations director for Harris’ campaign, said in the letter obtained by The New York Times. “While I still believe that Senator Harris is the strongest candidate to win in the General Election in 2020, I no longer have confidence in our campaign or its leadership.”

Clearly you posting this is some sort of criticism of judgement of Harris / her campaign. In comparison to what a complete and utter train wreck Trump's administration has been and how he has publicly castigated and belittle his staff and governmental agencies I find that hilarious.

Actually I originally posted it to show the rise of Bloomberg who I think will be the Dem nominee.

You just posted an article showing Bloomberg poaching a staffer from the Harris campaign, while he’s buying up the majority of ad space on network media outlets. And besides what do you care...oh that’s right, you’re an always trumper......forgot Biden is GOP kryptonite to y’all. Gota get you some dirt on em using US tax payers dollars. That’s the GOP way.

Well thank you for straightening me out on what I think and do.

I think Bloomberg does have a chance because Biden and Pete will struggle to hold the centrist moderates together. Biden has the black vote in the south, but he is also unfavorable similar to Hillary among the under 40s. The center is looking for a way to bridge the gap without Warren or Sanders on the ticket.

I don't think ole Hairy Legs has as close as a chance as some think.

After a really good 1st debate it is amazing how poorly Kamala did in all other debates. Which is also weird as all debates have been literally no different than the first. LAME. I knew her prosecuting record in CA was going to be a significant factor, but I actually don't think this is what killed her campaign. I think it was her inability to fight back when she was challenged by Tulsi in debate 2. And, after that debate she just looked desperate by laughing at her own lame ass jokes! Or, not knowing how to properly pursue a topic and get answers. If the Dems win I do, however, see her possibly being in the cabinet (Warren's?)

The Dems don't look great, to be honest. Bernie is the best imo, but he is so freakin' old and another heart attack away from being 6ft under. Warren, while I like her, she has her own issues, but she may become the chosen one for the Dem Party. Biden sucks and is only relevant because the DNC want him there.Pete is moving up so...who knows, he may eclipse them all and grab the nomination.

I don't see any of the others making a dent in these 4 candidates leads.

I felt like it was obvious from the first that I heard here speak that Kamala was a manufactured candidate with big early numbers, but no real chance at the candidacy because she comes off as having poor character and a cold demeanor.

Unfortunately, character is on short supply on the debate stage for people that care about that sort of thing.
