the worst refs in all of sports are in the NFL. period. That was not a catch/fumble, not even a pick. It should have been incomplete or down by contact. dumbass refs need to study the rule book and stop betting on games.

We didn’t get screwed there all Njoku has to do was hold the ball tight, he let the defender just take the ball. The refs didn’t screw us Njoku did because he sucks and has no heart No way. The defender was touching him. That's down by contact.

You can’t be down until the process of catching the ball is completed. in this case, the Bengals player prevented Njoku from pulling it all the way into his chest securing it, and took it away. It’s a textbook fumble.
Had Njoku done a better job holding on to the ball it wouldn’t have happened

But I agree with it should have been down by contact. At worst it was a simultaneous catch which is ALWAYS awarded to the offense. The ball was removed by the defender AFTER Njoku was on the ground. These referees completely suck and need to be investigated. You cannot convince me that wagering is NOT happening. SMH

Again, in this specific case you can NOT be considered “down by contact” unless you have “clear possession of the ball” Njoku does NOT have clear possession of the ball, therefore he can not be down by contact, the Bengals player reaching in and taking the ball is a legit fumble because Njoku was bobbling the ball. I don’t like it anymore than you but the refs call on the field is correct they are not screwing us.
