THAT's why we are chasing McDaniels, so Brady will have his OC still? wink

I could imagine Brady in NY a lot easier than here. His wife probably already owns a penthouse condo in Manhatten.

Brady will be playing for the Chargers next year and will be the highest paid player in the NFL.

They have a new stadium to fill next year and wouldn't have let Rivers go so easy without a plan to sell some tickets.

The Broncos and Colts might make a run at him as well, but the Chargers will back the money truck up even if it screws up their cap money to do it.

Brady aint going anywhere, unless its home to retire.

Kraft has told him - he will be a their QB until Brady sees fit. And he has given that directive to BB, which is why the tension between the two the last year or so.

Brady isn't going anywhere, he will retire a Patriot.

It would be a football god sin if it were any other way IMHO. You don't do anything to tarnish the career of a 6 time SB QB.

But Kraft would. The relationship that Brady has with that team is practically cheating. Dude has made his money and they're all just trying to ride this wave as long as possible. He'll sign another stupid cheap and perfectly structured extension to allow the Patriots to go out and surround him with some talent.

Plus, Garrapolo isn't in the building anymore. They don't have anyone to even attempt to pick up the torch (not that anyone would fill Tom Brady's shoes, but there's an ocean of difference between Garrapolo and the likes of Cody Kessler.).

There is no way that Kraft let's Brady wear another uniform.

No way.

I have a hard time believing that Brady will do anything but stay with the Pats or retire...

I agree. I was just pointing out that BB would get rid of him.

But I am pretty certain that Kraft gave BB the directive that its Tom Brady's team until Tom decides when he wants to leave, and that's that.

All these "reports" saying hes coming to Cleveland or pitsburgh, or wherever - are just idiotic nonsense if you ask me.

Agreed on the last part. Cleveland, of all places.... it's a QB cemetary, and people are trying to say the (arguably) GOAT is going to come here to finish out his career?

It’s not Krafts decision alone unless he wants to franchise him ....

Brady has had his problems with the iron fist of BB and may want out ... i believe that to be true ...

- Brady may leave cause Kraft don’t wanna ruin the cap by franchising him ...
- kraft may grant brady his wish out of respect for Brady (if that is his wish) ...

Brady and McDaniels.........hmmmm.

Brady's "one last kick-at-the-cat" so to speak?

What figures to be one of the most fascinating NFL offseasons in years is off to an earlier than usual start in New England.

Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is again a hot commodity on the head coaching market. The unit he tried to hold together with masking tape, smoke and mirrors in 2019 is due for serious upgrades.

And, of course, the primary question in America's upper Atlantic quadrant is whether quarterback is an area the Pats will look to reset.

Tom Brady — by this point, pretty much inarguably the best to ever play the position and the man who almost single-handedly raised the profile of a franchise that had previously struggled to keep pace with the Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins — is going to be a free agent when his contract voids in March. His expiring deal stipulates that he cannot be franchised, so expect speculation to steadily build that TB12 will explore the marketplace for the first time since he committed to the University of Michigan.

And Brady apparently intends to keep playing somewhere, saying after Saturday's wild-card loss that retirement seems a "pretty unlikely" option.

COLTS QB TOM BRADY? Tony Dungy believes Brady would fit with Indianapolis Colts

COWBOYS' NEW COACH: Jerry Jones chooses sensible over sexy and just might succeed

EVEN IF IT WORKS: Jerry Jones botched his coaching search

That naturally raises the question, if Brady isn't with New England in 2020, then where would he play?

These five teams shape up as sensible options:

Cleveland Browns: Yes, Baker Mayfield projects as salvageable at minimum. But who better to bring this decades-long shipwreck into port than Brady ... especially if Jimmy Haslam manages to recruit McDaniels into the fold. You couldn't ask for a much better nucleus of young talent, plus a rabid fan base ... and a prime opportunity to win a championship without Bill Belichick — and in a place where he (and everyone else) previously failed to succeed.

Los Angeles Chargers: My personal favorite. A highly talented roster with an exceptional group of intermediate targets (WRs Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, RB Austin Ekeler and TE Hunter Henry, assuming he's re-signed). The Chargers also need more than their new building to energize a fan base that never really got behind a group led by free agent Philip Rivers, so the team might theoretically be willing to pay Brady more than a fading 42-year-old is typically worth. And if he gets to live in glitzy L.A. full-time and be near his Bay Area roots? Win-win ... assuming he could finally help the Bolts win big.

Miami Dolphins: If Brady wants to follow the Brett Favre blueprint, this might be the best opportunity to stick it to New England on a frequent basis — if that does indeed emerge as a motivating factor. Brady knows head coach Brian Flores and what he's about. He's personally witnessed how far a division rival he's always struggled to beat has come in one year under Flores' watch. Oh, and the Fins should have a draft-high 13 picks in April, including three first-rounders and two seconds (not to mention and extra one and two in 2021). Miami has the ability to reload fast, and Brady could have a big hand in shaping matters — which would hold even if Tua Tagovailoa arrives as the eventual successor this spring.

New Orleans Saints: A long shot perhaps but ... Drew Brees is unsigned and might retire. Teddy Bridgewater could also hit free agency. Sean Payton loves Taysom Hill's potential, but is he ready to move atop the depth chart? And just imagine Brady throwing to Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara and Jared Cook while playing under ideal conditions most of the year rather than in the New England wind and chill. Just sayin'. If Brees packs it in, this might potentially be a pretty sweet lateral move for all parties.

Tennessee Titans: Brady and coach Mike Vrabel go back a long way. Tennessee is another up-and-coming squad — as Brady and the country saw Saturday — but one that could have a quarterback quandary if, for instance, NFL rushing champ Derrick Henry receives the franchise tag and consequently paves a path to free agency for Ryan Tannehill. But if you're Brady, pretty attractive supporting cast developing under a coach he already respects ... though there would have to be adjustments schematically — maybe more two-back sets — since TB12 isn't nearly the athlete Tannehill (or Marcus Mariota) is.

I'd love to see Brady go to another team and be mediocre so people can finally stop calling him the GOAT. He's too smart to do that though.

How many quarterbacks have played at a high level in their age 43 season?

(I personally think Brady wants to win 1 Super Bowl without Bellichik simply to prove a point)

Now its important to understand that:
Quote:

1. At Brady’s insistence, the contract “extension” he signed with the Patriots this offseason makes him a free agent and prohibits the team from placing the franchise tag on him after the season.

2. In August, Brady and Bundchen listed their Boston-area mansion for $39.5 million. The price for the five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Brookline was slashed to $33.9 million this month.

In addition to the celeb couple’s custom-built home being placed on the market, Brady’s business partner and personal trainer, Alex Guerrero, also placed his house on the market in August.

Now with this in mind, I ask you...do you want to see the Browns win a Super Bowl in your lifetime? If you do, you roll up the damn Brinks truck to Brady this offseason and sign him to whatever the **** he wants (He isn't retiring im pretty sure about that)

Now with Brady QB with Beckham, Landry, Hunt, Chubb, we will at least get to the Super Bowl even with an idiot like Kitchens as the HC

I personally don't care what Mayfield thinks I want to see this team win a damn bowl before I die. Brady is so fast at making decisions with the ball that OL won't have to be completely revamped...he makes a decision in about 2.3 seconds or so give or take on average....Brady has won Super Bowls with OIL worse than ours this season.

If we have a chance to get Brady this offseason, we got to. We have about a 2 year window before our chance at winning a Super Bowl is going to be gone, and I don't think we have time to wait on Mayfield to figure it out.

Even if we have Brady for only 1 year, what he could teach Mayfield would be invaluable if he is willing to swallow his pride and sit his rear end down for 1 year to learn from the best ever.

I know this sounds like a pipe dream, but i believe Brady is going to play somewhere other than New England next year, and to be frank if Brady can win us a Super Bowl it cements him to the point that no other QB ever will ever be considered better than him period...he not only becomes a legend, he becomes larger than life like a mythological hero and Brady does have an ego.

If he is availabe we gotta sign him ASAP no matter how much he costs, let him run the offsense, **** let him call the plays even, we will win i assure you...we would at least get to the Super Bowl for the 1st ever, and Mayfield is still on a rookie contract costing us peanuts, Brady could teach this organization how to win and finally change the culture here from a team of losers to a franchise that has won a Super Bowl, that changes rofl EVERYTHING for us, it gets us over the hump...God i hope it happens...

rofl rofl rofl

Right, Brady's coming to the house of sadness... rofl

I don't see Brady playing another team.

Kraft wants Brady's legacy to be all New England.

It would be a shocker.

I remember others leaving at the end. Unitas in San Diego. Horrible.

I like iconic players playing with one team.

Browns should not be on Bradys radar AT all.
