I wonder how much money this morning's developments cost McDaniels? His leverage pretty much vanished in a couple hours.

Wow. McDaniels doesn't even get his interview in NY.
Kind of shocking there.
Well we are alone. Go through the process. Do the scheduled interviews.
By default we get to at least make an offer to any of the rest.

bone...the only team conducting "endless" interviews...the Browns.
When football people see what they are looking for, they don't keep interviewing.
Teams that don't have a clue about what they are looking for keep searching until they are exhausted and they take what is leftover.
It's time for the Browns to move...but I doubt they will.

We have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. The Browns/McD thing might be so cemented and known in NFL circles that the NYG determined to leave it be. Otherwise, I'm sure they'd have had the interview. I dont think they just suddenly unliked him.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Panthers are giving Rhule a seven-year contract worth $60 million, which could be worth up to $70 million in incentives.
That’s an incredible outlay of dollars — but most importantly time — for a college coach who has exactly one year of NFL experience.

It's time for the Browns to move...but I doubt they will. There are a lot good coaching candidates. There were only a very few coaching jobs open. "whats left over" are still highly sought, highly motivated, and qualified coaching candidates. Your agenda is worn out and weak.

My own personal opinion is that if Tom Brady stays in NE. they will do everything to keep Josh because Tom is comfortable with him. I think Robert Kraft will make it worthwhile for Josh to stay. Brady won't want a new OC after all these years and I think with a little retooling the Pats can make one last run with BB, Josh and Brady. JMO

So our former Center replaces out former OL coach.
Davidson was actually one of Fraley's OL coaches in Cleveland.

About taking Judge over McDaniels:
Remember this is the Giants we are talking. Same team that thought it would be a good idea to hire Pat Shurmur before him. I wouldn't put too much stock into it with regards to to McDaniels.

I don't think it can be understated that Rhule declined to interview with the Browns. Always the glass half full with you. Maybe he just wanted to live in Carolina. He coached there before. Maybe they didn't want Cleveland for other reasons.

It’s whether Jimmy Haslam can make the right call and follow through Yup.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

While the rest of the teams have already named their HC, the Browns continue their ENDLESS interview process.
The best coaching talent (position coaches and coordinators) will quickly get snatched up.
It is great to see the Browns have a bit of good luck..but remember, no one has to accept the Browns coaching job. It's up to the Browns to go get the guy they want.

IMO I feel Jim Schwartz would be a good HC hire for us as long as he gets a good OC with him. He certainly would help our D out.

This is playing out beautifully for us. Only one coach that we interviewed was hired somewhere else (Mike McCarthy). This means we get to pick our guy no matter what.
Haslam will screw it up.

We have plenty of guys to consider.
That is a good thing. Having Rhule and Judge getting hired is a good thing.
Now it is a matter of selecting the right guy for us.
Maybe this time around even Haslam may have a chance to get it right.
I think there is a guy on the remaining list that can do the job. Maybe more than one.
The guys we have on the list are all qualified to interview.
Rhule I was never interested in. Judge? How can anyone tell? He has never been a OC. His resume is not impressive very little experience.
All things considered we are in a good position.

Judge is a shock ... so far today couldnt be better for us
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

In Rish's defense, Rhule did turn down the interview.
