Groh could be on the Schwartz or McDaniels staff.

Groh could be on the Schwartz or McDaniels staff. I haven't seen his name connected with McDaniels at all. Schwartz would make sense. Doug Pederson had a press conference yesterday and said that both of these guys would be retained. https://www.nj.com/eagles/2020/01/nfl-ru...-the-moves.html

I linked him to McD based on Al Groh connection.

None - it was a reach based on possible Bellichek connection, but Al Groh was more connected to Parcells, than Belli.

This is our first assistant that has left. I realize that I'm taking a "throw the baby out w/ the bathwater" mentality, but if I were a decision-maker in Berea, I'd be packing the boxes for any non-ST coach. Can't let them go fast enough.

I thought that we weren't allowing our Assistant Coaches to take job offers?
I guess that was more fake news.

I’m fine with Wilkes leaving

I believe the Tweet said 'some', and not all coaches.

I don't like the NFL rules for coaches.
I see a coordinator position as a clear promotion. I don't like that teams can block those interviews.
Once a head coach is fired, I don't like that teams can block assistants from interviewing for positions. Most coaches don't keep but 1-2 from the previous staff.
Those guys are following a dream. They want to be head coaches and feed families.
It's a shameful thing to mess with a persons career and livelihood.

Two candidates I'm hearing for the Eagles offensive coordinator post are Jim Caldwell and former Washington OC Kevin O'Connell, per source. https://twitter.com/Tim_McManus/status/1215362055076745222

That doesn't hurt teams like Pittsburgh, Balt, NE... Sorry, I don't buy that. You learn to tackle in pee wee. If you make it the pros on def, you know how to tackle well. If you tackle poorly, its on you and the coaching staff for not holding you accountable to do so.

I would have interviewed Joe Brady for the head coaching job. Getting him as an offensive coordinator would be a coup for the Panthers. My guess is that LSU gives him a blank check.

If Ruhle really wants Brady, Tepper has even bigger blank checks.

If true the Browns have a 67% chance of screwing this up.

Per that article, we have narrowed it down to 3 McDanials, Stefanski and Daboll

Does Haslam even know Daboll was once with us? I can't believe he'd still be in the mix over Roman, Bieniemy, and Saleh.
I can't believe he's in the mix, period.

Lets hire that guy.

There certainly are a ton of them

All this O'Connell angst. Why not just hire the guy he worked for as our OC?
Jay Gruden is an Ohio native. He's familiar with the AFC North from his time in Cinci.
There are plenty of other capable coaches out there, too.

Well, just thinking out loud, if McD is the pick for head coach, one would think he’ll bring the Pats offense with him. Do any of these hired guys know/are familiar with that system? I’m thinking that McD might have a guy in mind who is already familiar with it to ease the implementation.

Chad O'Shea as his OC, perhaps. Recently fired OC for Dolphins. Secondary coach for Indy - Johnathon Gannon as DC, perhaps. Scott Pioli or Zeigler as GM.

How about thinking outside the box a bit. The Pats O worked for them because of Brady. Baker might be a good QB, but he isn't that.
The Pats didn't run a traditional running game. We currently have 2 backs who between them need 35 carries a game. Maybe near 40.
Sony Michel is as good as Nick, but he's not because he doesn't get the work. One week he might get 20 touches, then the next he gets 8.

Nick Chubb had 52 more carries than Sony Michel. That's less than 4 more per game.
Chubb averaged 5 yards/run. Michel averaged 3.7.
Chubb averaged 93.4 yards/game. Michel averaged 57.
Chubb had 11 runs of 20+ yards. Michel had 3.
He is nowhere near as good as Chubb. (and I wanted to draft Michel in the draft when the Pats took him)

There's really no comparison between the two.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
