Just got a text from Espn (797-10) - "ESPN News - Vick Tests Positive - Falcons QB Michael Vick tested positive for marijuana and will face stricter release conditions." ARTICLE - Special conditions placed on Vick after positive marijuana test By Kelly Naqi ESPN.com (Archive) Updated: September 26, 2007, 1:04 PM ET Comment Email Print A urine sample submitted by Michael Vick has tested positive for marijuana, and as a result he'll have tighter restrictions on his freedom. The test was taken on Sept. 13. Because of the positive test, federal court probation officer Patricia Locket-Ross, who is assigned to Vick, asked Judge Henry Hudson to place special conditions on Vick's release, which include refraining from use or unlawful possession of a narcotic drug or other controlled substance. Also, Vick must submit to any method of testing at any time. Methods of testing could include urine testing, the wearing of a "sweat patch," a remote alcohol testing system and/or any form of prohibited substance screening or testing. Vick must also participate in a program of inpatient or outpatient substance therapy and mental health counseling if the pretrial services officer or supervising officer deem it appropriate. Vick is also now restricted to his residence every day from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. or as directed by the pretrial services officer. The home confinement will include electronic monitoring. Vick pleaded guilty in August to a federal dogfighting charge. He is set to be sentenced on Dec. 10. On Tuesday, he was indicted by a grand jury in Surry County, Va., on state dogfighting charges. He went from posterboy, coverboy of the NFL and in what 2 years he has now been outed as a dogkiller, pothead, carries STDs and part of illegal gambling. Wow. I can't remember a fall so quick and so definately clear. Kobe recovered because he paid off and the case went away but Vick has confessed, a record that will become public, and this too.

It's real simple, Tyler. This guy was awaiting sentencing on felonies and while awaiting sentencing was STUPID ENOUGH to commit another crime! You can excuse it all you want but his stupidity is beyond measurement. He could have received a relatively light sentence for his previous actions, but will not get the same thing now that he's shown utter contempt for the law and for the court. How you can dismiss that is beyond me. I don't care that you enjoy killing your brain cells and revel in boasting about it. That's on you. If you're saying that what he did WHILE AWAITING SENTENCE isn't a big deal, you've destroyed more brain cells than you brag about.

Here is why this is a story...he made some huge mistakes. You would think that the possibility of federal prison would get his nose clean but it hasn't.
What isn't said in this article is how this test will effect him trying to get back into the league next year or the year after.
I'm not cheering for his fall, not at all. I kinda knew there was more to him than his posterboy image after the Ron Mexico and "Everyone loves me" bit. But I didn't think he'd fall this far.
In no way am I judging this man, his Maker will someday. There are those who get in trouble and become better people for it. It seems that getting in trouble still doesn't wake this kid up.
And weren't you a Holcumb-humper enjoying Timmy's crying?????

I'm going to guess that a good number of people here don't give a damn that Vick rolled a fatty. I sure don't. Most here have a problem with him doing while he's being closely watched for OTHER crimes that he's on trial (indicted, whatever) for right now.

CoachB Weed doesnt kill brain cells, alcohol does. It cause more of a chemical reaction (thats why people can experiance physcosis)..... just letting you know, I know you deal with kids and I dont want you being slammed or ignored because of iincorrect facts.....
Anyways Vick is and always has been a dumby....to be honest the pot doesnt surprise me. If I had all day to think about the dream life I had and destroyed, then had to think about losing my freedom for an extended period of time I'd be trying to get messed up all the time too

Can anyone tell me why he was tested? i'm not aware of this so i'm actually asking...not trying to sound like a smart ass...but are you tested when you are on trial for something other than drugs? i don't know whta hell that test has anything to do with dogfighting? ' ANDDD ...i don't see why it's a big deal either...the man just lost MILLIONS of dollars and prolly will never play prof football again and just got sued by a bank....he is also going to jail for few years.....hell i don't even smoke pot and i might if all that was going to crash down on me...having said this if i knew that i would b tested for use of drugs i would not...which brings me back to my question...WHY the HELL was he tested for it anyway? not like he got caught driving or something...

My best guess is, since he pled guilty and is now under the fed's "authority", they feel the need to check. Keep in mind, he pled guilty to a federal crime. He is a prisoner as we speak, he just hasn't been sentenced yet. When you are a prisoner, you do what you're told, when you're told. Apparently Vick wasn't aware of that aspect of pleading guilty...... Perhaps he still thinks of himself as a free man with lots of money that can do what he wants?
And, on a side note, I can visualize this causing consternation from Goodell - (read that as Goodell may extend any suspension that Vick was/is facing). The idiot Vick is screwing himself faster and harder than he knows.

Well .... for those who are eager to see him resume his NFL career ... now they'll have to wait until .... He's out of prison ..... His "bad behavior" suspension ends ..... Then ..... after someone does sign him, he'll have to sit through a 4 or 6 game suspension ..... I think that Vick is done for good, and he did it to himself. It just goes to show that talent, fame and fortune don't increase brain power.

That coupled with the new charges filed the other day should put the nail in his coffin.. At least as far as ever playing in the NFL again that is.
I hope the Falcons can get some of that money they paid him back.. he doesn't deserve any of it.
