That's true, but we were for two years the only team KS even had lined up. He didn't interview anywhere last year except here, and I maybe wrong about this year, but I don't think he had an interview anywhere else.
The other teams are not built the same way as the Browns FO wants to built. Stefanski fits our model - the other teams are built differently. We don't know yet if that's a good or bad thing.
If KS can lead - if he holds people accountable and gets good coordinators in place and lets them do their job and doesn't call plays .... I think we are 90% of the way there. It *seems* to be heading this way. Haslam is the unknown factor, and even with Haslam and him being there for some of the meetings I am hoping he's not there to offer opinion or make any football decisions.

The more things change the more they stay the same.
To be fair, we are the only ones who interviewed him. Blowing away Haslam in an interview isn't hard apparently.
Stefanski was hired by the Vikings in 2006 when Brad Childress was the HC. Assistant coaches rarely survive HC changes, especially assistant position coaches, yet in 2010, when Leslie Frazier was named HC of the Vikings, he retained Stefanski. Then in 2014 when Mike Zimmer took over, he not only retained Stefanski, he promoted him to TE coach in '14, RB coach in '16, QB coach in '17, and OC in '18. That kind of contradicts the image you are painting of some dumb smuck that nobody else sees any potential in. There are also rumors that had the Vikings fired Zimmer, Stefanski was going to be his successor.
And? Does that change the fact we are the only team in the NFL to interview him for a HC position?
We were also the only team to interview McDaniels.
The other two teams who were going to do so ended up filling the job before he interviewed. And one of those teams took and Asst Coach who worked under McDaniels.

Trying to determine if a coach is a good or bad hire because no one else interviewed him seems like a fool's errand.
(The Panthers were set to interview Stefanski before they hired Rhule.)
I didn't say it was. I was merely pointing out the fact we were the only ones that interviewed him last year, and we the only ones to interview him this year. I didn't know the panthers had him set to interview, and stated I may have been wrong.
“Freddie will put a very disciplined team on the field, year in and year out. He will pour his heart into his team and they will play with passion and love for one another and the game. Freddie is a true gem and a brilliant hire by the Browns.”

I think I've had my day on this, but what he's saying here is fair. I hope he's targeting a guy that he's comfortable with and has the capability of running the offense.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
