A few days ago when I read the OP, my first thought was that with the current state of hyper-partisanism satire falls flat with it's intended audience. If you agree with the writer's views, you don't need the satire to open your eyes. If you oppose his views, then your are intentionally blind/deaf to it because it just seems like yet another attack. It's like we are witnessing the death of satire...
