He was saying that McConnell is going to be firmly in Trumps corner until the polls start showing that some of the republican senators in tight races start getting out spent or the poll numbers start dropping and it looks like the Senate is in play in Novemnber-And IF that happens, Mitch will flip Trump. Ya know, I have a friend that runs a very large company in Chicago. Centro. On facebook today he asked the question "does anyone think schumer and Mocconnel are sitting in one of their offices right now, drinking bourbon and laughing? I said yes.
I know 3 county commissioners that traveled to DC to testify a number of years ago. They said everything you see on tv, or in the media? It's a show. The animosity between parties? After the day is done, they show up at the bar and drink and laugh.
My dad even was called to DC to testify about a medical/hmo issue. He didn't get to testify, but he said the same thing: What the press tells you is not how it is. It's a big swamp in DC.
and that was years before trump even considered running.

And I'll add this. Damn proud of it. About 15 years ago, auditors went to my dad's place of employment. Walked in to the accounting office, flashed their badges and said "We need to see the CEO's expense account." They were told "he doesn't have an expense account with us."
Well, when he takes doctors out to eat, to wine and dine them, when he goes to seminars in Columbus, or Arizona, or California, how does he pay for it?" They said they didn't know, but the hospital didn't pay.
They got all kinds of records. Then they went to talk to my dad. "How do you pay for taking doctors out to eat, and going to seminars, hotel rooms, rental cars, airfare?" etc.
Dad simply said "I pay for it out of my pocket/personal credit card. I don't have receipts here, but I can get them."
That, folks, is how I was raised. I am as true as you can come across, thanks in part to my parents, and what they taught me. I'm forever grateful to them for that.
