It’ll be interesting to see what it is ... Kubiak being there last year muddies it up some ...
The one thing I’d love to ask depo is what is it he saw in Kev last year that he liked over Freddie ... Freddie actually had a 1/2 year calling plays and Kev had none at that point I don’t believe ... love to hear what it was that moved them Kev’s way last year ...
This is a fantastic question Diam! When we all talk about analytics I think we have a tendency to think its only about numbers and measurements. There's also a psychological perspective that I don't think we've considered so much. There are personality traits that can be identified in highly successful people. Maybe that is the angle on how they identified Stefanski in absence of the quantitative production? If his recommendation is more about traits than it is quantifiable production... wow... that I think would be a pretty radical way to go about things. For the NFL at least. Sometimes in corporate America the person who they bring in to overhaul and restructure the company may have little experience or knowledge about the actual product itself. But what they do know about and are good at is... identifying and implementing systems and procedures, structure, efficiency...

You can tell now that Stefanski is a cerebral guy where as Freddie was more emotional. You know which one DePo would tend to lean towards. I do bet we see a more fiery, emotional side of KS. Hopefully when Goodell hands him the Lombardi trophy...

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I do bet we see a more fiery, emotional side of KS. Hopefully when Goodell hands him the Lombardi trophy... I wouldn't count on it and that's ok. A snippet from an article in The Athletic on Stefanski... In the middle of the bedlam that was the Minneapolis Miracle, Vikings play-by-play man Paul Allen looked to his right and into the coaches booth that sits right next to them at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Stefon Diggs had barely crossed the goal line to push the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game at the end of that 2017 season, and everyone in the place was losing his ever-loving mind. Well, almost everyone.
One assistant was pounding on the glass so hard that Allen thought it was going to shatter. Director of pro scouting Ryan Monnens was bear-hugging two coaches at once. Fans drunk on euphoria and other spirits were trying to scale the walls to the radio booth to do the same to Allen and color analyst Pete Bercich.
“Then I made eye contact with Kevin (Stefanski) and I’m pumping my fist and, like, throwing my shoulder out of my socket,” Allen recalled. “Kevin looks at me with just a little baby right fist pump, picks up the papers in front of them, organizes them and then just heads out of the coaches box, and that was it.”
