like...why does that affect the market? For the same reason a tropical storm west of Africa that MIGHT become a category 27 hurricane in 4 weeks, or might not even make it here, causes gas prices to rise.

Fear.
The Fear of the Virus and the Fear people will stop going out to shop and eat.
It happened with SARS and ZIKA too.
Market drops, (buying opportunity) then zooms back. Check the history and you will see it.

https://www.cleveland.com/open/2020/01/g...cal-issues.htmlGreat Lakes poll in Ohio, 3 other states offers snapshot of voter opinions on Donald Trump and political issues Posted Jan 25, 9:31 AM Women voters and Donald Trump Women voters in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin oppose Donald Trump by wide margins, Baldwin Wallace University's Great Lakes poll found.Rich Exner, cleveland.com By Rich Exner, cleveland.com BEREA, Ohio - Women voters across four Great Lakes states are a major factor why Donald Trump might have some ground to make up if he is to again win Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in the 2020 election, a recently released poll suggests. Among women polled, their support for a Democrat over Trump ranged from 11.2 percentage points in Ohio to 26.1 points in Michigan, according to the Great Lakes Poll, released Wednesday by Baldwin Wallace University’s Community Research Institute. The preference among men ranged from 2.5 points in favor of Trump in Ohio to 4.4 points against in Pennsylvania. This was one takeaway from the first of four Great Lakes polls BW will be conducting this year, in partnership with Ohio Northern University in Ada and Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The states were chosen because they flipped from Democratic in 2012 (Barack Obama) to Republican (Trump) in the last presidential election. After the findings were released Wednesday, cleveland.com published a series of stories providing both an overall summary of the poll, and delving into individual issues. Here are some of the highlights. Read more about each topic by following the links below: * Trump trails in each of the four states, indicating the extent to which he’ll have to entice wavering voters to swing his way before November. Yet Democratic support was softest in Ohio, where the generic Democrat led Trump just 44.3% to 39.4%, with the rest undecided. Donald Trump support in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin Donald Trump trails in four key states he won four years ago, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, according to the Great Lakes Poll from Baldwin Wallace University.Rich Exner, cleveland.com * Women breaking away from Trump could be a deciding factor in 2020 presidential race: Women are more likely than men to vote for the Democratic nominee than Trump, although there are still many women who are undecided. * Voters distrust social media as a source of campaign news and worry about foreign interference: They’re wary of getting presidential campaign news from social media, with the majority viewing articles on social media as untrustworthy or misleading. Social media in Great Lakes poll There is a general distrust in the news find on social media, according Baldwin Wallace University's Great Lakes Poll.Rich Exner, cleveland.com * Immigration was a key issue in 2016: What do voters think about it today?: The bulk of voters polled disapprove of how President Donald Trump has handled immigration policy. * Should popular vote replace Electoral College?: Those polled overwhelmingly said they supported getting rid of the Electoral College system. * It’s the economy, voters in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania say about the 2020 election: Wisconsin voters rank health care as the No. 1 issue in this year’s presidential campaign. In Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania, it’s the economy. Top issues Great Lakes poll The economy is the top issue among voters in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania, while health care is the No. 1 issue in Wisconsin, according to Baldwin Wallace University's Great Lakes poll.Rich Exner, cleveland.com * Good news for Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders: Biden or Sanders lead in each of the states, followed by Elizabeth Warren and Michael Bloomberg, though the primaries won’t reach these states for several weeks. Joe Biden and Great Lakes poll Joe Biden leads polling in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania, while Bernie Sanders leads in Wisconsin, according to the Great Lakes poll released by Baldwin Wallace University.Rich Exner, cleveland.com BW, in partnership with Ohio Northern and Oakland universities, polled more than 1,000 registered voters in each state from Jan. 8-20. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 to 3.3 percentage points for the statewide results in each state, higher for sub groups. BW said the poll included quotas for age, education, and gender for each state based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau from the overall adult population in each state. The makeup of voters may be different. There will be a second poll in the spring. BW hopes to time that poll to when the Democratic nominee becomes clear. Plus additional Great Lakes polls are planned for September and October. Lauren Copeland, associate director of the Community Research Institute at Baldwin Wallace University, noted that the large number of undecided voters left ample room for Trump’s support to grow. “If you take into account the people who are undecided, the race is a tossup in all four states,” Copeland said. A BW Ohio poll a month before the 2016 election showed Hillary Clinton leading Trump, 43.2% to 34.4% with a substantial number undecided at the time. In the election, Clinton received almost exactly that support (43.6%), but Trump did much better (51.7%) in the state. like...why does that affect the market? everything is global now: Distrust in the government reporting how bad the problem is: Fear the Sars outbreak cost the world economy over 500 billion in lost production; dont know whether this will be better or wors that SARS-but there are like 56 million people in China that are basically locked down; they say there are only about 2000 cases with most in China and all of the deaths in China-however, there are videos that are posted for a short time from the region before they are removed that show people waiting for double digit hours to see a doctor, dead lying in the hallways, wearing diapers on their faces because they are out of medical supplies, a nurse/medic in Wuhan saying the government is lying and she guesses there are 100,000 that already have the virus. Then reports come out on Friday that they are 63 people in the US being held to see if they have the virus and news reports that this is spreading and the guess is that there may be 350,000 people with the virus by mid to late February

This story is currently being published on many conservative sites so I linked the Intercept for those on the left. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is prepared for the possibility that Democrats in New York could redraw her district after the 2020 election, she told The Intercept in an interview. Following the 2020 census, every state will draw new district boundaries to reflect changes in the population, the political implications of which will stretch for at least the next decade. In 2014, New York approved a constitutional amendment establishing a nonpartisan redistricting commission, which is set to take over the redistricting process starting in 2020. The 10-member commission, meant to be independent from the legislature, is made up of individuals selected by leaders from the state Senate and Assembly, and the original eight members pick two additional members. But Ocasio-Cortez’s most determined adversaries are not partisan Republicans, but Democrats who say that she has been a disruptive influence. The Hill recently reported that at least one member of Congress has been urging New York party leaders to recruit a Democratic primary challenger to Ocasio-Cortez. But the news led to a surge of donations to Ocasio-Cortez, suggesting that a more efficient means of ousting her might be simply to eliminate her district. There is also a high number of non-citizens that reside in her district. More at: https://theintercept.com/2019/02/09/ocasio-cortez-district-redistricting-2020/

That would just put her and her voters in a different district which she would probably win as well. I'm not a fan of the far left, but claiming the dems are out to get her is something the Intercept would make up.

More at: https://theintercept.com/2019/02/09/ocasio-cortez-district-redistricting-2020/ It won't matter if she's voted out of office, loses in redistricting, or just decides not to run again... She has an enormous cult like following and will be a pain in the ass to her opponents for the next 50 years. She may very well be the first female President one day. Her popularity on the left rivals Bernie's and you can see how his following grew in the last four years. She's basically his right hand right now and stands to inherit his movement.

Sanders supporters fume as Clinton allies named to key Dem convention committeesSupporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders' White House bid and some Democratic National Committee members are frustrated with some initial appointments made by DNC Chairman Tom Perez to the crucial committees that will oversee the rules and party platform at this summer’s presidential nominating convention in Milwaukee, Wis. Their frustration comes after Perez named former Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts – who was a surrogate for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign -- as co-chair of the convention’s Rules Committee. And Perez picked John Podesta – who served as Clinton’s 2016 campaign manager – to have a seat on the committee. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/sanders-supporters-clinton-allies-to-key-convention-committeesYou can run from Hillary but you can't hide!

Democrats ditch donor requirement for debates, meaning Bloomberg could qualify-The Democratic National Committee unveiled new debate rules that drop the requirement that candidates obtain a minimum number of campaign contributors, opening the door for Mike Bloomberg to take the debate stage. -The new rules will apply to the ninth Democratic presidential debate, which is scheduled for Feb. 19 in Nevada. -Bloomberg, a billionaire, is funding his own campaign and has declined to take donations. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/31/democrat...-bloomberg.html

So unlike the lie Trump told, Bloomberg is actually funding his own campaign.
“I don’t need anybody’s money. It’s nice. I don’t need anybody’s money,” Trump said on June 16, 2015. “I’m using my own money. I’m not using the lobbyists. I’m not using donors. I don’t care. I’m really rich.”

That’s cause Bloomberg is actually wealthy, and doesn’t just play one on TV.

The DNC changed their rules to allow him on the debate stage.
I bet Booker, Kamala, and the other Dems are thrilled the DNC is making the change to accommodate an old white billionaire.

You seem to think some people think the Democrats are saints. They're not. Here's the skinny as if you really want to know what's going on rather than puke insults like Captain Bone Spurs does..... Bloomberg does have tons of money. The catch is he has promised to help fund any Democrat that gets the nomination in order to beat Trump. So the Democrats want that money. In order to get it they're pretty much pulling strings to get him into the debates. I mean it's not like they're trying to bribe a foreign government to interfere in our elections or anything.

Hey now. Not having served in the military only matters if you are a republican. Don't forget that.
Clinton never did. Never heard a word about that. Bush 2, and 1 did, but the media tried to poo pooh 2's service as 'not enough'. Obama never did serve.
And hillary? Well, she claims she tried to enlist, but they wouldn't take her.
Who, among the democratic hopefuls, served in the military? Serving in the military seems to be a huge question if you're a republican. Not so much if you're a dem?

I seem to remember swish saying he wasn't old enough to vote when Clinton was president though, and using that as an excuse. In fact, I know I'm right about that. However, I concede that swish may have made those comments you say. I just missed them I guess.'

However, I concede that swish may have made those comments you say. I just missed them I guess.' How could you miss that when I made those comments DIRECTLY to you when we had those arguments? Once again proving how fake you are. Gotta act like ray charles when the facts don’t fit your narrative.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
- Theodore Roosevelt
