I think it's funny when I get accused of being against the 2nd since I've stated numerous times I support the right to own guns and to hunt or protect your home because I absolutely do.
I just don't blindly support the 2nd when it comes to knowing we need to do something about mass shootings. I think there is room for common sense gun control. I don't think you need 'assault' style weapons to hunt with or protect your home. I also think weapons styled to like military weapons send a dangerous message to the weak minded and deranged. But I could live with all of that if the other side would just decide it's time to figure out how we can send our kids to school safely. Or to church, the movies, a park... etc.

So I see you repeating the “2nd amendment freed the slaves” thought.
How did the second amendment free the slaves?
How does the second amendment help insure minorities receive equal treatment? How does the second amendment make sure that people won’t get fired from jobs because of their sexual orientation?
Will you answer these questions or will you continue to dodge all the points I’ve raised to you over the past year?

The hilarious and infuriating part of all this, (and I'm a supporter of the 2nd), is that these morons doing this only push the country closer to the end that they're fighting so hard against.
Do they really think walking into a govt building looking like a paramilitary force, causing a panic, and brandishing their firearms (they totally look like curated pictures of Taliban,etc.) is really helping their cause.
If it were up to me, each one of these clowns would be evaluated to see if they have the mental capacity to responsibly own a firearm. Instead of seeing examples of most gun owners who responsibly exercise their right, we see these idiots on the news because their game of dress-up caused a panic. I'm in 100% agreement. I have no idea why these dudes always have to show up with the biggest gun they can find, in fatigues, with ammo belts, with 4 extra clips, kevlar on, helmets, etc (and sometimes faces covered)..... If you want to represent why the average American wants to own a gun, that's not freaking it. In the end, these types of displays will do far more harm than good to their cause. And these two posts make the perfect point most gun owners worry about. These public displays are doing gun owners and proponents of the 2nd amendment far more harm than good. They are actually fulfilling the picture those on the left wish to portray. God gave people a brain for a reason. They need to start using it.

I am not going to engage if someone is painting me as a bigot. And I am not saying you have that I remember. I think you need to worry less about slaves of the past and worry about slaves of the future. Talking about slaves 170 years in the past has little to do with today. Stay current. If you are for Constitutional rights, you can't be against the 2nd. Big Brother is only going to protect you if we can protect ourselves from him.

Nice non-answer. You'd be good at running for the GOP. You say yet a prior post you said The 2nd is the right of the people to preserve all the other rights. So now you're talking of the rights of established in the past. ----------- I'll ask again... How can the second amendment ensure that individual who identify as trans will continue to be allowed to serve in the military? How can the second amendment protect individuals from being fired from a business because their sexuality doesn't match the theocratic government a minority of people wish to install? ------------ Is this whole "the 2nd amendment protects everything!" rally cry a new talking point on conservative talk radio or alt-right circles? This is the second time in as many weeks I've seen someone from the far right end utter such a thing.

Scared no, unless one is being shot at me. I say this because I think the style influences the way they are perceived. A regular shotgun is seen as a hunting gun and the idiot that wants to post up in a hotel and shoot at a crown is less likely to feel empowered by it. But if it looks like military gear, or something you would see in a first shooter game, then it is more empowering to the sick type of individual that would do that. Just my thoughts. I'm fully aware the plastic serves little to no purpose. I also understand that often the ammo is identical to hunting guns.

My moral conscience calls me to make the world a better place each day. People are way too numb to the bad in the world, and I will never apologize or backdown from showing injustice. It’s what my mentors and role models aspire to do, and I’ll continue in their footsteps. I mean even Jesus Christ of Nazareth fought for social justice along with just economic policies. The party of Christianity doesn’t like to acknowledge this. If you find this annoying/unneeded, no one is forcing you to reply to me. At the very least, I’m glad you take the time to consider my views even if you vehemently disagree.

I believe the 13th, 14th, 15th, and 19th do though. None of those specifically mention the lgbtq people though, but there are laws that DO mention them. You can't discriminate against anyone based on age, sex, sexual preference, religion, race, etc. How does the 2nd amendment help them? It wasn't designed to do so. But, it also entitles them to be armed, and with the laws we have currently, it enables them to defend themselves from personal harm. The 2nd amendment was never designed for anything other than for the population to be armed if they so desired. Nothing more.
