I find it ironic, that someone who constantly bashes Baker for saying the wrong things, being immature, and needing to shut up - gets suspended for well, not taking his own advice.

Honestly, I think the response has been a bit overblown. He shouldn't have said it, but he's always been a hack. Maybe that's part of the reason for the (excessive) response.

Him saying it on a hot mike as part of ESPN and on the radio station that is part of the team's official network is probably the biggest reason.

That contract with the team lets the radio station charge big $$$ for radio spots during games all winter long and gets them better access to players and coaches for interviews and such for their daily shows.

ESPN, well, they're much too big to put up with someone as little as Grossi potentially shining any embarrassing light on them.

Add the two together and he is lucky he wasn't canned on the spot.

I also dnot know why he's upset we 'miss out' on borrow... look joe looks like a grewt prospect... but I don't need ever want to pick in the top five let alone #1 overall... just felt like sour grapes and stupid comment to get caught saying in a mic...

Bakers a cracker..so a cracker can call a cracker a cracker because they are crackers...unless Grossi doesn't think he's a cracker because he's an Italian. This whole thing just cracks me up ....

I get not liking him talking bad about the team as a team affiliate. It's the political correctness aspect of the response to his use of the word midget that seems excessive.

He wasn't talking to/about an actual person with dwarfism and he seemed to be trying to be derogatory towards Baker, if unintentionally overheard.

According to Forbes, The Cleveland Plain Dealer removed Tony Grossi from covering the Cleveland Browns following this tweet: "He's a pathetic figure, the most irrelevant billionaire in the world." The pathetic, irrelevant figure Grossi was referring to was Browns owner Randy Lerner

Well, it might have been insensitive, but it sure as hell wasn't incorrect.

Right.. I remember times watching Jim Donovan look at Tony like he wanted to say... Tony wth is wrong with you..lol. Honestly Tony was negative and out spoken with his displeasure with the Browns org. Honestly who wasn't or still is. He said things we all said. He witnessed the same bs we all did. Except he had to talk about it publicly because that was his job.

We could and did come on here to express our frustrations.We may have gotten a suspension from the board for our posts..but it wasn't a job we were getting suspended for. Tony was Tony..but he was honest and rightfully ticked off.

My GF calls me the same thing..I tell her. " Honey I'm taller than you " I wonder what she's implying ? Hmmmm.

I never liked Tony Grossi. He acted like he knew more about how to make the Browns better than the guys in charge did. He used to rip Belichick unmercifully. I loved BB when he was here and Grossi would anger me w/his BS!

However, Lerner was weird. He almost always insisted to the use of emails for his interviews. He was so reluctant to speak to anyone face-to-face. He let guys use him. There's more and I don't want to be too mean.......but, he had issues.

Writing about coaches in over their heads like
Shurmer, Kitchens, Pettine.

He knows if Mayfield doesnt pan out or improve in 2020 it's back to drafting a QB in 2021.

My favorite Grossi story is when he was ranting for weeks about his displeasure of the browns. I finally tweeted him a link to an open Pittsburgh reporter position and told him to apply.

I think Grossi has many personalities.

When I used to listen to WKNR, he was very good on the air. Came across as reasonable and objective. Tony the writer was just the opposite. And now we see that Tony the fan takes Tony the writer to another level with a bunch of pent up anger.

I don't think he makes it back from this one. I think the suspension will turn permanent and he'll resurface somewhere else.

Anyone in the business Tony Grossi is in should know better than to make comments like that for exactly the reason he's in trouble. If your going to make a comment like that make sure it's not on the air or someone is listening you don't want to hear it. It's his own fault. Stupid.

I think he'll be back. The only reason being is that he will have Tony Rizzo in his corner. Rizzo got Grossi the job at WKNR after his Plain Dealer firing. And as much as everyone poops on Rizzo, he's about the only reason that station has listeners (love him or hate him).

Tony Rizzo is the same guy that was accused and taken in to custody for domestic abuse and WKNR (Good Karma Brands) released a statement saying, "what an exemplary teammate Rizzo is" and proceeded to name him "Good Karma Brands teammate of the year."

Rizzo is their cash cow and has a lot of pull.

The only way I think Grossi is canned is if the Browns apply the pressure from a broadcasting rights standpoint when the contract expires.

I find it hilarious. He’s such a curmudgeon (and probably rightfully so lol) ... but he bashes Baker for being unprofessional with his words/actions.
