I wouldn't mind hanging onto him until after the draft, and then trading him if we're feeling good about what we got during the offseason. I'd much rather get a higher pick for him in the next draft than sell him for peanuts for this one. We could also capitalize on a team that suddenly needs a TE like him going into the season.

Interesting that you took Biadasz in Rnd 2. In the little automated mocks I've done the past couple of days, he's constantly been sitting there in Rnd 4. It will be interesting to see where he actually ends up going. Is there enough other talent at other positions for him to be available in the 4th?

10 Andrew Thomas, OT Georgia
41 Grant Delpit, S LSU
74 Malik Harrison, LB Ohio State
90 Khalid Kareem, EDGE Notre Dame
105 Tyler Biadasz, IOL Wisconsin

I definitely wouldn't do anything without a very solid plan in place to backfill. In the end, he is still very talented; he just isn't living up to the expected "elite" status that comes with the territory he was drafted in. In the end, a less athletic TE that is better at blocking with more consistent hands can be every bit as valuable and more, and probably had for less.

Agreed. I like him, but he's not the type of TE I want right now for our offense. There are teams out there that could maximize his strengths more than us.

Teams such as?

We haven't finalized our offensive staff yet, let alone the entire offense, so I'm not sure how we'd use him.

Our new TE coach was a WR coach, whether that indicates intentions towards usage remains to be seen.

Teams that have a more established passing attack, and will be looking to throw the ball a ton.

I think the Browns need at least one TE, preferably two, who can run block and pass block. Njoku, Seals-Jones, and Harris have all been impressive at times as receivers, especially in the red zone. But none of them can block worth spit, as far as I can tell. When we get inside the 5 yard line, I want a TE that can seal the edge so Chubb can get the corner and get upfield. Ditto for those times when you need to go for the 2-point conversion. When you look at Njoku's body, its hard to understand why he can't block better, but its probably because blocking is about 75% desire or "want-to".

You can and I am warming up to it a bit. I still think you could put a light in the rear guard from a small school back there if blocking is the primary goal..but it would still be the fullback position, so why not. I would still rather have a dual threat at running back over a player who is going to lead the real runner to the hole. I though Hunt was good as a lead blocker at times. Why not go with a duo like Chubb and Hunt. I would rather see that.

Mack and Byner. They blocked for each other. Brown and Green did the same. Even when Brown was leading the league in rushing, Green was picking up 500-700 yards a year. Round numbers. I don't recall exact numbers. I am close.

I wondered about that too. A guard or big TE could lead Chubb into a hole. I guess because FBs are usually good receivers in the flat.

What mock draft simulators are people using these days? Was gonna try the one on thedraftnetwork.com, but when the first QB didn't go until 5, there didn't seem much point in waiting until the Browns pick.

I used On the Clock...fanspeak. I selected the CBS rankings

I wouldn't expect Simmons to be there at 10, but when he was, I had to take him. There was a early run on OT's

These are just for fun....how realistic are any of them? Then again, you never know how the draft is going to play out.

Did this one on first-pick. I'll probably go back to fanspeak going forward. The formatting just makes it a pain to copy on my phone.

This would be nice. Unlikely, but nice, I think.

If somehow Simmons fell to us I hope we're prepared for this contingency. I'd take him and go to plan B on the OL picks. We nee to have a plan B on the OL picks.

I’ve seen a few mock drafts with us trading back with Oakland who wants to draft Herbert, then having us snag the best OT

I think you would have to know who is available at 10 before making that deal. From the Raiders perspective, if Herbert were to get past the Chargers I don't see any impediments to him being available at 12. But if they wanted to trade with the Browns we should get a premium for it. So they get 10 and we should demand picks 12, 80 and 91 in return. JMHO.

https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/mock-draft-nfl-marino-6.0

10.

Eagles
Isaiah Simmons
LB, Clemson
Trade terms: Philadelphia Eagles acquire No. 10 overall; Cleveland Browns acquire Nos. 21, 53, 117 overall and 2021 third-round selection

The Eagles were viewed as a Super Bowl contender entering the 2019 season and injuries severely derailed that from becoming a reality. While every year presents a new team and new challenges, many of the reasons Philadelphia was perceived so favorably are still in place. But the Eagles have some holes to fill and Nigel Bradham’s recent release created significant concerns with the Philadelphia linebacker corps. In a deal similar to that of its cross-state rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers last year to move up for linebacker Devin Bush, the Eagles follow suit in this scenario and secure an elite defensive talent.

Simmons is a true Swiss Army knife and can play all over the back seven and serve as a matchup neutralizer. His blend of size, length, speed and processing skills give him the upside to become one of the most unique defensive playmakers in the league.

21.

Browns
Josh Jones
OT, Houston
Trade terms: Philadelphia Eagles acquire No. 10 overall; Cleveland Browns acquire Nos. 21, 53, 117 overall and 2021 third-round selection

After ignoring the offensive line last offseason to the detriment of Baker Mayfield and his development, Cleveland has to get serious about improving things this year. Jones has an exciting skill set, but especially as a pass blocker. He’s long and athletic while showcasing steady growth throughout his college career.

41.

Browns
Ashtyn Davis
S, California

I’d be good with a starting OT, Ashtyn Davis, and the extra picks

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

At this point, thinking he may be putting the team in danger. I know they won't give up on him this year. Just wishing we'd stop experimenting and draft a prototypical QB with skills and the will to win. I have zero faith in this new regime, nothing about them says to me they have the tools, knowledge or skill set to get the job done. I totally expect another disappointing year, and history is on my side. I hope I'm wrong, but there is no reason I can think of to believe I am. Oh well, there's always next year. Is it too early to talk 2021 draft?

Me too... we'll need the extra picks for LB

I like the idea of trading down in this draft. Getting more picks rounds 2 thru 4 is a good move.

#1 - This draft is crazy deep with fast athletic players at multiple positions.

@2 - Fill as many holes as possible with quality players for the next few years while we have some big name free agents coming up that will need resigned soon.
