Not necessarily true. As I've tried to explain many times, we have NO idea the number of Americans, or people on the planet, have had this virus and their bodies/immune system has taken care of it without medical assistance.

What we know is the number of people that have tested positive - because they went to a doctor to be tested, and we know the number of people that have died from it due to underlying causes.

If we don't know the total number that have it/had it, how can we extrapolate anything other than a guess?

I've had the flu. I didn't go to a doctor. Therefore, my flu never showed up in any official records. I would guess many thousands have gotten the flu and never went to a doctor. The immune system takes care of it on its own the vast majority of the time.

More than likely it will be the same with this codiv 19, like it was with many other 'pandemics' over recent years.

Now, I base that on fact. And another fact we should consider is: Are gov't.s telling us the truth, I'll grant that. Do they know more than they are telling us, what with mass quarantines, etc? If so, we need to ask why. To not cause panic? There's already panic.

But, the point is, probably most - but at least many, can get this virus and their immune system handles it on its own, requiring no doctor visit. Hence, the numbers are skewed, just as they are with the flu.

Arch there is a ton of rationale logic to what you are saying. However the data from Korea, Italy and other countries that have widespread testing on large scale populus who have the virus show what the mortality rate is and what age groups are impacted. I'll take the science and medical experts conclusion and say there's a higher probability they are correct.

I still feel this is a bad thing made worse by the media. The death rate from TESTED people is somewhere around 3% of those tested? So, how many unknown cases have their been, with no deaths because of a person immune system taking care of it?

Again, I'm not at all saying don't take precautions. One should always do that.

But, at this time, I liken it to the media when they report, here in the U.S. "a storm has formed off Africa. It COULD be a cat. 45 hurricane if it reaches the U.S. Run, run for your lives. We'll know more tomorrow, and next week." Or: "Snowmageddon!!! We're expecting somewhere from 10" to 4' of snow, with high winds. People may be stranded for weeks with no food. But, we might get flurries. We don't know yet."

I feel the media over does things many times. It creates fear and panic, and those 2 things feed on themselves. Perhaps in this case I'm wrong?





And again, I just feel the death RATE is artificially high based on the fact that we have no idea how many people world wide have/had this and never sought medical attention. If it's 10,000 people, that never sought medical attention, that changes the death rate. If it's 200,000, that changes. JMO

Funny but I just ate lunch, yesterday, at my favorite Chinese restaurant. But of course, I am not living like the dead, hiding behind their blinds.

I mean, we have countries quarantining large areas, we have colleges cancelling in person classes, Harvard has shut its campus down, the state of Ohio is not allowing spectators other than 4 family members per person on a team, the NBA is playing a game tonight (?) with no fans, MLB is toying with not allowing fans, many cities aren't allowing gatherings of over a certain number of people, the corona virus conference in NY city was cancelled...........yet, not eating at Chinese restaurants is 'racist'?
