Beautiful concert hall Clem. I'll stop by and watch the stream - looks like it's right there on the ToledoSymphany.com web/event page ... though I doubt it'll make me smarter or hipper ...

I don't know how many people will die from Corona virus, I expect about 7 million+ maybe even 30 million, in America, ... over the next 20 months,

I don't know that number, and maybe it will only be, like 1 thousand people... all across America.

BUT! I'm pretty sure this economy is Quack Quack Flinstoned! because nobody can gather and spend money like usual and spending is 2/3rds of the economy

and My 15 dollar pizza is going to be 30 dollars, 60 days from now

AND WE ARE ONLY GOING TO BE IN THE FIRST 1/3RD OF THE NEXT 20 MONTHS!

And I don't think shutting anything off really makes a difference,
plus I wouldn't be surprised if it's found out that 3 out of 10 Americans already had Corona virus, from years and years ago,
because it's a wrongly diagnosied, separate stage of the flu, and by the time everyone is tested;

It is going to be like the Salem Witch Trials,

Sum it all up

Whether one person dies from Covid19, or 70 million, I know for sure that shutting down every sporting event in the United States is going to have a significant effect on my personal economic situation.

That sounds about correct, yes.
A severe case of this requires hospitalization for anywhere from three to six weeks, or more.

This isn't the flu where you get it and are done in a few days to a week.... this is the danger of this, which takes me to the question about Italy and their double-the-norm mortality rate.

There are two major factors in that:
1. Italy has the oldest population of any nation
2. Their medical system is utterly swamped. They do not have enough beds, equipment, or personnel to adequately treat people. They are literally deciding who lives and who dies on a triage basis... if you are younger or have kids, you get to be intubated. If you are older or maybe young but no kids... you get to be made comfortable and maybe sedated for things to run their course.

Item #2 is WHY we are seeing every event possible cancelled. Aside from the miraculous development of treatments that would mitigate severe cases, pretty much our ONLY hope is to slow the rate of spread so that we spread out the hit on the medical system over a longer period of time. If we do not, we WILL be making those same choices in every hospital here.

My company made a global policy decision yesterday. Everyone that has the capability of working from home is directed to do so beginning Monday the 16 and, at minimum, through the 27th, by which time they hope to have a longer-term plan in place. That's not just a U.S. policy, that is everywhere.

So, I'm homebound, now. Running out to stock up on dry goods, again, shortly. I just wish this thing made zombies :'(

The Masters has been PPD (canceled really)

My church goes down to the Rescue Mission twice a month to serve. It is usually older people from our church. I am the youngest that go from my church, at 56.

They called and asked that we not come down to serve, because of this COVID-19.

I have a bunch of restaurant emails I signed up for, that give discounts and/or coupons, new product alerts, and such. I have probably received 20 emails about COVID-19, stating how they are increasing their sanitizing work in their restaurants. Hopefully they really are.

The Johns Hopkins tracker looks to be fixed and working with all missing data added.

Global cases are now over 137,000.

85 cases in Brazil (increase of 33) -- I think we can disavow any notion that summer will help. Besides, we have the CDC's FAQ telling us that warmer, humid environments have no impact.

Maine has their first case. Alaska, Idaho, Alabama, West Virginia are our Final Four in this March Madness.

The only way to stop the Corona virus is to tell Hillary that it's going to testify against her.

lol!

For anyone curious about the 6-day doubling rate... it is holding at every level. We're WAY above that in the US, but on a global level, last Saturday morning we had 105k cases, 25k which were outside of China. China seems to have themselves under control, but we are now at ~56k cases outside of China. More than double in just six days.

Germany, France, Spain, and US have actually well more than doubled in the last four days.

-- 09 March / Current

France: 1209 / 2882
Germany: 1176 / 3059
Spain: 1073 / 4073
U.S.: 603 / 1701
Italy: 9132 / 15,113 (perhaps slowing by a day?)

Mind you, these numbers haven't even updated for today, yet... they are yesterday's totals.

j/c,

Oddly enough a book (series) entitled ...

"Asterix and the Chariot Race"

(Was released worldwide in more than 20 languages on 19 October 2017 with an initial print run of 5 million copies.)

The hero of this fable and Charioteer for Rome is named CORONAVIRUS, and his co-driver named Bacillus cheated, so he replaced him with the Emperor Julius Caesar of Rome.

Asterisk means 'Little Star'

I’m still disappointed that nobody caught on to the fact that my impeachment threads were named after Bruce Willis movies.
