Now all we can hope for is that it doesn’t get as bad as Italy.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Trump is under increasing pressure to act as governors and mayors nationwide step up
LMAO. He's under no pressure to do anything at all. The entire country already knows what to expect from his lame feckless ass... and are self-starting without regard to what he may or may not do.
Here is my somewhat uninformed take from what I have seen Re: Trump.
The same people that said travel bans from China were racist and banning travel “smacks of xenophobia” or other such nonsense are the same exact people claiming he did not do enough. This is the MO of the very strange hard left and geopolitical left in the past 4 years, claim everything is bad and then play otherside ism on the backside……it’s racist to ban people from China…..Trump failed us by not banning them soon enough.
Headline grabbing nonsense.
Europe and their morality policing government absolutely failed their countrymen. They allowed their faux morals to literally kill their kin. Racist to ban people from fleeing…..until it’s killing your neighbor.
My biggest criticism of Trump is that he did not ban all foreign travel the INSTANT it was clear that Europe was getting sick. We are an Ocean away from this virus, we should have banned them from coming back into or traveling to this country…..sorry about your luck Americans abroad. The “everyone gets a test if they need a test” criticism is just nit picking at its finest. What the hell is the guy supposed to say “well sorry, we don’t have the resources to test everyone” and induce a national panic? It’s in these times where I actually appreciate the transparency of knowing people just hate the man regardless of what he does. At least I know to throw their opinions in the trash where they belong. I cannot even imagine the vitriol he would receive if we hadn’t banned travel from China.
Whom better to have as president during the coronavirus epidemic but a renowned germaphobe, the “build-the-wall” guy who refuses to kowtow to China?
It’s a unique set of characteristics showing that President Trump understood early the need for decisive measures such as travel restrictions on China, which he imposed in January.
Yet for that sensible decision — in defiance of the World Health Organization — he was criticized by Democrats such as Joe Biden as xenophobic, and by China as racist.
“This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia — hysterical xenophobia — and fearmongering,” said Biden the day after the travel restrictions were imposed.
CNN ran a story warning that “the US coronavirus travel ban could backfire” and have the effect of “stigmatizing countries and ethnicities.”
The Chinese Communist Party’s official mouthpiece, the People’s Daily, called the ban “racist.”
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned it would increase “fear and stigma, with little public health benefit.”
It is hard to have much confidence in a United Nations bureaucracy run by the former health minister of the Marxist regime of Ethiopia. In 2017, Tedros tried to appoint then-Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe as a WHO goodwill ambassador, and he seems to have a soft spot for China.
The Council on Foreign Relations think tank said last week that Tedros owes China because it backed him in the election to become director-general in 2017.

Trump taps Pence to spearhead US effort to fight coronavirus Tedros denies kowtowing to Beijing, but not only did he advise governments not to restrict travel from China at the start of the epidemic, he was slow to declare a global health emergency and praised China for its “transparency,” although the Communist authorities there had been covering up the spread of the disease.
So ignoring Tedros turned out to be one of the president’s smartest decisions.
At the press conference with Trump on Saturday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the highly respected head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, praised the “original decision that was made by the president … [that] prevented travel from China to the United States.
“If we had not done that, we would have had many, many more cases right here that we would have to be dealing with.”
Trump’s travel restrictions began on Jan. 31. Australia and Singapore instituted their own travel limits the next day. Trump’s move bought valuable time to slow the spread of the virus and ease pressure on the nation’s health system before a vaccine is developed — which experts believe is at least 18 months away.
But that hasn’t stopped the barrage of fake criticisms, including that Trump had left the nation dangerously unprepared to cope with a pandemic by cutting funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Not true. The CDC’s programming budget increased from $7.2 billion in 2019 to nearly $7.7 billion this year, the Associated Press fact-checking unit reported. Trump had proposed a cut, but Congress rejected it.
It’s reprehensible for the Democrats to make political hay by blaming Trump for the coronavirus or, as a New York Times op-ed piece called it, “Trumpvirus.”
In an editorial Saturday, the Gray Lady also reiterated its debunked claim that Trump has “muzzled” Fauci.
Yet at Saturday’s 2 p.m. press conference — hours before the Times’ deadline — Fauci emphatically denied the claim.
“I have never been muzzled, ever, and I’ve been doing this since the administration of Ronald Reagan,” Fauci said. “I’m not being muzzled by this administration. That was a real misrepresentation of what happened.”
What shoddy journalism to publish such an incendiary, anonymously sourced claim, without at least including Fauci’s denial.
The anti-Trump narrative rolled on, with increasingly silly attacks. The Washington Post speculated that the coronavirus could be “Trump’s Katrina,” referring to Hurricane Katrina, the response to which had been bungled by President George W. Bush.
When Trump announced a coronavirus task force with the most eminent experts in the nation, CNN blasted him for a “lack of diversity.”
You could hardly blame the president for calling all this unfair criticism the “new hoax” of the Democrats and Resistance media, to try to take him down, like the Russia collusion hoax and the impeachment gambit. Of course, then his opponents twisted his words to pretend he had called the coronavirus a “hoax.”

Trump: Democrats' coronavirus criticism just their latest 'hoax' The obvious untruth was spread by established journalists such as Dana Millbank of the Washington Post, who tweeted Friday night: “Remember this moment: Trump, in South Carolina, just called the coronavirus a ‘hoax.’”
When Trump pointed out that he had said no such thing, which the footage of his remarks confirms, the Daily News claimed yesterday he had “backed away from his claim that the coronavirus is a ‘hoax.’”
This is Twitter-level disinformation.
Michael Bloomberg is as bad. After spending days accusing the president of dismissing the spread of the virus as a hoax, he had the nerve to take out ads on prime-time TV Sunday saying the epidemic “requires putting politics and partisanship aside.” Hah! In our dreams.
The problem is that Trump Derangement Syndrome stands in the way of the bipartisan cooperation required to defeat this epidemic.
This is the me first country. Bet he was republican.
He was a She and that sort of comment is asinine. You are part of the problem - I am seeing from you more and more divisive comments. When you stoop to the level of the dumbest denominator on the "other side" you already lost.
How about you shut up and stay off my ass. YOU thinking you have the right to police every damn thing I post is the lowest common denominator... I'm sick of you every other day saying some crap like this to me and getting your feathers ruffled. If you don't like my posts then ignore me. If it's on my mind, I say it. JUST LIKE THIS - Take your cancel culture attacks and shove them.
Says the guy that uses "The Young Turks" hosted by the wackos Cenk Uygur & Ana Kasparian as a source!
Way more credible, not even cloze. Nobody from the blaze gets invited to any MSM stations for commentary. And if they do, nobody knows them. But you know my people, don't you?

For one thing, he could have agreed and supported the experts at the CDC and helped send the American people a reliable and consistent message rather than contradicting them and creating a situation where the American people had no clue what the truth really was.

And how much money was put towards testing?
He refused to use the WHO approved test which was being used on a global level. Had he chosen to adopt using the existing tests, we would have had millions of test kits available long before now.
In the past you have been one who feels that just throwing money at a problem isn't always the answer. That sometimes a little common sense is a better solution. I think refusing to use an existing test while throwing money at the problem is a prime example of that.

I think it's the underlings (experts) jobs to make recommendations to him. I don't want him making any decisions regarding health. He's not trained in that area. The CDC should be leading the way. It's their literal name. Center For Disease Control.
Yet for weeks he contradicted everything they were saying and many of his blind followers believed him.
People blame the media for the panic of the people. And to an extent that's true. But at the same time those very same people ignore the fact that when the health experts in your country and the president are sending opposite and very mixed messages, it causes those very same results.
Timeline: How Trump was out of step with the CDC during coronavirus response
I think it finally got to the point he had to face the facts head on. I'm glad to hear him doing that. Even though at the same time he's pointing the fingers at Democrats for the H1N1 outbreak. I mean if it's not on a teleprompter can this man ever stay on message?
Let's be honest here. At least the Democrats learned something from the H1N1 outbreak. They set up a pandemic team to address such situation when they came along in 2011. Of course Trump fired them in 2018 because, "Nobody could have seen this coming", right?

Trump won’t take responsibility for anything and talked about a freaking trade deal with China.
Lol my god.....
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Lol yo the faces of everybody standing behind trump right now.
It’s gotta be hard to stay that composed with how he’s wandering these questions.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
So glad we have some reporters asking tough questions. Of course we have a president unable to answer them.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
To start, I want to say Donald Trump is not responsible for the Coronavirus. We don't know who is responsible. It was likely an accident. The Coronavirus was going to make its way to the United States no matter what. The handling of the situation in the United States is what I'm here to discuss.
Leadership is a hard thing. You must be willing to put others before yourself and your own self-interests. In order to do that you must have character. Because Donald Trump's character is so poor he is a terrible leader.
It seems Trump's main goal from the start of the Coronavirus pandemic was to suppress different events. Whether it was the severity of the virus itself (he said the flu had a higher death rate, which is a lie) or not wanting a cruise ship to dock because, in Trump's own words, "I would rather -- because I like the numbers being where they are. I don't need to have the numbers double because of one ship."
Furthermore, Trump has made poor choices in handling the Coronavirus once he, somewhat, acknowledged its seriousness. He appointed Mike Pence the head of the task force to handle the virus. Mike Pence. Whether or not is good at his job, or anything, is a different story. Donald Trump has access to the brightest minds in the country and he appointed a person who has no experience in the field to head the task force. This is egregious, especially considering he had Dr. Anthony Fauci working on the problem. Not appointing the best possible people to work on a problem that you are not an expert on is poor leadership.
Well thought out decisions are another sign of a good leadership. Donald Trump does not know how to make a decision without taking himself out the of the equation. That leads to poor decisions daily. The World Health Organization offered to send tests for the Coronavirus to the United States. The United States rejected the tests (https://www.politico.com/news/2020/03/06/coronavirus-testing-failure-123166). Why? We don't know. Now we are short on tests.
Lies. Bad leaders lie. Unfortunately for Donald Trump the smartest scientists in the world dispute basically everything. Trump said the virus would go away in the summer (no one who knew anything agreed with this). It is summer in Australia. They are preparing a nationwide shutdown of schools and gatherings of over 500 people. On February 24th Trump claimed, "The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA." Since the claim, on February 24th, there were 53 cases of the virus. Today there are over 1000 that we know about (if only we had more tests). On February 26th Trump said this, " I don’t think it’s going to come to that, especially with the fact that we’re going down, not up. We’re going very substantially down, not up.” And he said: “And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done." Trump lied and said the death rate for the flu is much higher than the virus(https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-sta...ess-conference/). This is not true. Trump said the virus will go away like a miracle (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-sta...erican-leaders/). Trump said a vaccine will be available "relatively soon", scientists disagree. The aforementioned Dr. Fauci told Trump, before this comment, that a vaccine would take a year to a year and a half. In Trump's address to the nation on March 11th he said, "Earlier this week, I met with the leaders of the health insurance industry who have agreed to waive all co-payments for coronavirus treatments, extend insurance coverage to these treatments, and to prevent surprise medical billing." There are a lot more. Lying is horrible on its face but its after effects are worse. It leads to lack of trust and misinformation.
Lack of accountability. Trump repeatedly has blamed others for the problems he is currently facing. His main target is President Barack Obama. Any failings Obama had during his tenure as president have nothing to do with the current crisis other than to deflect attention away from the actual problem. Not taking responsibility for problems when you are in charge is the ultimate sign of a poor leader. It causes people who work for you to lose respect and trust in you because they know the actual situation.
Nobody is blaming trump for the virus, but he gets rightfully judged on how he handles it.
And so far it’s been piss poor.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I have no idea why they keep repeating the lie that people blame Trump for the virus. The only thing I can think of is that it makes them feel better about themselves.
