A pretty solid deal at only $499.

At $499 that’s an awesome deal

Damn, son.
Hope you'll be fine. Can't wait to see your next joint.

I’ll be fine. It’ll take some time to heal my finger joint. I won’t post the photo of my finger but here’s a shot of my glove... my fingers fit snug in them... you can assume what the injury looks like.
I did go back to the shop and finish my project after getting done at the urgent care. Inspiration trumps pain.

Eh, you didn't derail the thread.

I still have a pair of shorts I was wearing when the chainsaw I was using kicked. How, why, I don't know, but the saw kicked back and literally cut my shorts. Not me, just my pants.

I use a lot of power tools.Things that can burn through you, cut you, generally derail your day. ...plasma cutters, grinders, band saws... that said, chainsaws scare me.

Oh, that doesn't look pretty.
Reminds me of a brush with a 10,0000 rpm angle grinder my thigh had a couple lifetimes ago.

Hopefully you got in and out of the ER without taking anything extra with you.

Safety first bro. I use knifes all day long and I’m always concentrating on keeping my digits. Every injury I’ve had is usually a bad decision I made just before it happened.

Lets see if this makes sense to you folks. I can not go to my local bar in the afternoon and sit with one to four other old guys because of the coronavirus, but I can go to the movies and sit with 99 other folks, or go to the mall. notallthere

..testing nearly everyone is going to be essential to stop the spread....once again, trump lied to us all. But nobody on the right cares about his exaggerations and flat out lies. Pffft

Heal fast Portland !

As for closing bars and restaurants - my guess is the concern over servers either contracting and/or spreading CV?

Wife showed me an interesting simulation (might have been Washington Post which will no doubt mean it is dismissed by some) - showing the affect of CV spread - no change in social behavior, forced quarantine - and self quarantine (25% and everyone I think). Difference is dramatic.

I've said to my wife that none of us are in danger - age or health - and if the odds are strong we are going to get it why not just continue as normal but just be more sanitary throughout the day. Wipe things we buy, wash before and after leaving the house etc etc .... as she pointed out - it's the way that we potentially transfer and spread any infection that is more important than whether us and the kids get mildly sick for a couple of days ... and then we still don't know if we can get sick more than once ... Malls and cinema? idk. Maybe they are harder to legislate?

It’s a bloodbath right now in the markets. EU markets across the board down Atleast 9%, win a couple down about 11%.

And our markets? The couldn’t close the Level 1 pause FAST enough. Suppose to be paused if the S&P500 drops 7%.

Dropped 8.14% before they closed it. Too much selling. Dow is down 2250 points.

I'm killing myself for not having the strength of my convictions back in Feb ... then March 4th - another opportunity to sell and I didn't - I am at 68% of my balance from Feb 19.

Nah bro. Free market capitalism! Let the markets decide!

Nevermind the 1.5 trillion dollar stimulus from the Feds, or cutting rates to zero and starting QE lmfao.

Keep it open. Let it tank. Let the market decided, right conservatives?

There are a total of 3 “circuit breakers” Based around the S&P 500.

Level 1 is triggered when that market tanks 7%. From there, all trading is halted for 15 minutes.

Level 2 is triggered when that market tanks 13%. From there, all trading is halted for 15 minutes.

Level 3 is triggered when that market hits 20%. From there, all trading is halted for the remainder of the day.

Meh, stock market crash.

I remember my great grandfather who was highly invested in the markets when the depression hit.

The market crashed, costing him everything.

But he didn't cry, he didn't even complain, all the way down to the sidewalk.

yea im sure a bunch of people didnt cry in other crashes either....while they were crashing down to the ground from the top level skyscraper.

it sucks about the market...but im worried about the actual economic impact. most americans couldnt even afford a 400 dollar emergency situation. whats going to happen to those who cant pay their bills?

how does pumping 1.5 trillion dollars into the freaking market help the middle class? how does cutting rates down to zero help the middle class?

"hey babe, rates are down to zero so i guess i can go back to work now"....not.

we just attempted to bail out the elites again, and AGAIN, its not working. the trump administration and the feds snapped their fingers like Thanos to pump trillions into these losers, yet what about every day americans at the individual level?

where is their bailout? where is their QE? where is their 1.5 trillion into their bank accounts?

because the rates are down to zero, but we ALL know the credit cards aint gonna lower their interest rates. banks arent gonna give the people a mortgage/loan holiday unless its forced.

we're doing all the wrong things. corporate debt was at all time highs. consumer debt was at all time highs.

does the "everything bubble" finally pop?

this blows. this absolutely blows. i hope to god im wrong and that this bear market is a quick phase. something tells me not to be optimistic.

'Not for sale': Germany has reacted furiously to Trump's attempts to poach German scientists working on a coronavirus vaccine

https://www.yahoo.com/news/not-sale-germany-reacted-furiously-115000051.html

which begs the question: where are our scientist? im guessing we're severely short staffed on them too, huh?

man, i wonder if an education plan to make STEM fields tuition free wouldve helped the problem....

Don't worry, status quo Joe will fix it. smfh

When you dismantle what little safety net we have, fire all the scientist and crisis management experts, what the hell do you expect to happen during a pandemic?

BUT we got lots of hope and prayers. thumbsup

Actually I borrowed the grandfather story from Mr.Howl on Gilligan's Island.

What else does one watch when the market is crashing and sports are banned?

It is my understanding the government is currently addressing the situation of people who only have $400 in savings.

We may here more today on unemployment comp and making sure no one misses a paycheck.

From what I've heard about that bill, it's a short term bandaid and everyone has to apply and qualify so who knows how long they will wait.

We need somebody like Bernie to fix a lot of this stuff.

The medical bed shortage, medical equipment shortage, and medical staffing shortage is due to cutting everything to the bone in the name of profits. Socialized medicine and affordable education would have helped a lot right now.

Working class people taking home a bigger slice of the pie and not being $400 away from disaster when crap hits the fan would have helped now too.

This morning the talking heads are talking about the bill not being enough, too little to help what we are facing. They are saying we need a basic needs and bill payment package they bails out the middle and working class for the next 5-6 months. How many trillions will that cost?

Part of the reason they pushed the WH briefing to 3:30pm.

Everybody knows he’s about to say something stupid, again.

A normal claim takes at least two weeks to process in my state. If it wasn’t for Pelosi this wouldn’t have happened at all. We’re so screwed. Enjoy.
