The article is talking deaths, not infections.

The same number of infections can result in a drastically different number of deaths simply by us taking the actions we are taking.

It means and talks about the results and added risk of the flattening and social distancing. We're damned if we do and damned if we don't in certain ways. If we do nothing it gets very bad very fast and passes sooner. 2.2 Million Deaths, but then we will have a herd resistance established which means much less vulnerability.

If we do all the stuff we are doing now, even taking it to extremes of shelter in place, it will flatten the curve but extend the inevitability that everyone will eventually be exposed drawing things out over a long period of time and jeopardizing the advantage of a herd resistance. So odds of reinfection in large numbers goes up substantially. Plus the effects on the economy, our mental health, and ability to recover (get back to normal) are compounded over time. All of this and still a projected 1.1 million deaths and the eventual overwhelming of our healthcare system in both cases.

I don't understand your anger.

They are sick and according to the President's Protocol, they should self quarantine.

If you have been in contact with them, you should self quarantine.

Anyone in contact with you should self quarantine.

If they are dying, they should go to the hospital.

There is no cure or treatment, whether or not you test positive.

Treat everyone you come in contact with as if they are infected. Take all necessary precautions.

It worked for healthcare workers dealing with AIDS and for the general public as well in the 80's.
It works now.

This is the way I've felt just seeing certain individual reports. But hearing it from someone who works within the healthcare system confirms my worst thoughts.

After much prayer and counsel, and the bible, which says we are to follow the governments recommendations if they align with the word of God, I closed our church for the time being and will be preaching on live feed through facebook. I have a responsibility to those people God has entrusted me with. Just thought I would Share

Here is the Message I sent to all of my people ...

To all of my sheep at The Word of God Community Church, I use the Word sheep because Jesus is the great Shepherd, and He has called me to Shepherd His Church in Ironspot. As Jesus protects us from all of our enemies, He charges his Pastor’s (His Servants) to do the same to the people He has entrusted us with. So as much as I hate not gathering for church on Sunday Morning this week, we are canceling this Sunday service, I want you all to be safe during this time. I have had a check in my spirit about this situation, which means the Holy Spirit has been talking to me about this, along with much prayer an counsel from my Bishop and other Pastors whom I trust with my very soul, the Bible tells us to follow the lead of our government also if it aligns with Gods Word, we will revisit this situation week to week and when the time comes we will gather again as a church family. I will be preaching every Sunday morning at 10am through live feed on Facebook until this crisis is over, we all still need to be fed the word of God. I ask once again for your support during this time through prayer and through Tithes and offerings if you are able, if not we understand. Also we are available to you for counsel or prayer or whatever we are able and allowed to do for you . God bless you and remember we love you but Jesus loves you more

So, it looks like we will basically never know exactly how many people will have this. We can assume, going forward at least in Ohio, that the only confirmed cases are likely to be hospitalized cases or the relatively few that are bad enough with symptoms to get a doctors note to receive a drive-thru test, but not bad enough to hospitalize.

Some good news...

We did cancel church as well. Instead of having our monthly consistory meeting in person Monday evening, dealing with church business, we instead held a teleconference dealing with only the virus and what actions the church should take.

Cancelled, a week at a time now, for as long as necessary. Everything.

Guess we'll have to drive to the state border to see a barber.

Our church is not doing this.

What don't you understand? We are basing our treatment modalities and predictions based on the number of people testing positive. If we aren't even testing people with the most telling symptoms, we will not be effective in dealing with this.


Let an NBA player test positive, we rush to test all of the players, though.
