Excellent news there

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I don't understand how this works. They used two medications, one kills parasites and the other is an antibiotic. To treat a virus? saywhat

Unfortunately, unless I'm missing something, this source (and every source I can find on the topic) seems pretty fishy.

I'm sure people will test this, and we might know something soon. But I can't find anything submitted by leading experts on this.

EDIT: I have found a much more balanced article describing this. It seems the approach is being tried, but no evidence yet that it is effective.

I thought it seemed bogus as well. If a simple z-pak cured this we would have seen this being done long ago.

Don't know if you listened to the interview, but he said he was preparing to submit the study findings to the CDC.

So I should be good, since I just finished a z-pack last week, for the early stages of a sinus infection.

It was a malaria drug called chloroquine (or hydrochloroquine) along with azithromycin (z-pack). Not just a simple z-pack.

My friend got tested earlier yesterday ... still no result back. She’s freaking out and has a high fever in quarantine

How do we live with Corona virus? What started as a 2-3 week quarantine quickly became 2-3 months and probably longer. If we are looking at 18 months before we get a vaccine, how do we live with this until then? Can't keep the country on lockdown for 18 months.

It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

A malaria pill from the 1940s has caught the eyes of doctors, analysts, and even Elon Musk as a potential coronavirus treatment

https://www.businessinsider.com/malaria-pill-chloroquine-tested-as-coronavirus-treatment-2020-3

They prescribe these to people with COPD all the time for respiratory infections. I can't imagine these weren't tried right off the bat.

People forget that a Chinese doctor with dual Citizenship stold the virus from a lab in Canada and brought it to the Wohan lab in China.

I tried to do a check on this story and I read that one of the places this started was on Whatsapp where there was a guy (from Nigeria) with a foreign accent that was pushing this remedy. See, your Nigerian price came afterall

It's sad, really. It's not about them, it's about others.

They may not realize that they can have it, be contagious, yet show no symptoms what so ever. And? They can spread it without even knowing it. But, it's hard to get through to some people.

Trust me. Had about an hour long discussion with my daughter tonight about not leaving the house. I used every bit of reasoning I could. Turns out I'm the worst dad ever, all her friends are hanging out, mom goes to work, you go to work.........on and on.

She wanted to go to her boyfriends house. His family is one that, they have get togethers every weekend, and often through out the week, with family. 20-30 people at a time.

I tried to reason with my daughter that that's cool and all, but, do you know where those 20 or 30 people were earlier today, or last week? How many people did they come in contact with? I even showed her about the family in, I think it was New Jersey, where 7 people got sick at a birthday party. (sick, as in got the virus) 1 has died already.

So, as bad as I think that video is, who am I to berate them? I can't control, at this time anyway, my own daughter.

Plus, I know of probably 25 to 35 people, friends, with their kids, that are on spring break right now, from Florida to Arizona to Colorado. I guess they think the virus is just for other people?

Rant over.

Reality will set in a month or so from now when these selfish people infect their parents and grandparents and people they love start dying.

Only a matter of time.

I don't call this a rant at all.
I call it a cry for understanding, because we're all in this thing together.

You're not the worst Dad ever.

You're a better Dad than the one who lives in your own head.

I've known you for years, via this website.
I've always known you as an honest, heartfelt man who does his best, day-to-day. That has never changed. Not ever.

Dude- you are remarkably consistent... occasionally, maddeningly so.
wink

But you've never been disingenuous.
Or duplicitous.
Or dishonest.
Or disreputable.

And that makes you someone I can/do care about, even if I've recently posted beef with you.

++++++

You're a caring Dad who knows/has seen more (from Life) than the daughter he's worked so hard to raise well.
You're a Dad who is still working hard to keep his family safe/well, in the midst of this existential crisis.
And you're a Dad who sees what old(er) folks see: that sacrifice is part of being an invested member of a true functioning society.

So I get your fear and frustration, where fam is concerned.

______________

Kids don't hear 'Old Folks' the way they should. They never have. It's a major reason why Human Progress crawls along at the snail's pace it does. Half of the New Population needs to re-learn half of Their Parents' lessons from scratch, before they can even start learning their own new s#. Sadly, it's a universal feature of Human Nature.

______________

Ever since this FLA/Spring Break story broke, I've chanted the same post, over and over- everywhere I post online:

COVID-19 PARTY TIMELINE
1. Have fun. Wear a swimsuit in March. Grind each other in the clubs/hotel rooms after sunset.
2. Party like there's No Tomorrow.
3. Blast it for a week, then come home.
4. Infect Grammy and Gramps at Easter.
5. Wear a different kind of suit in June. 'Gram' is out of tomorrows.

_________

I know this language sounds harsh, but I've been on this crusade ever since the WHO started reporting the COVID-19 worldwide numbers. I suggest that it's pretty much the only language that young people might understand, when the message is: "Your 5-day party in FLA might lead to a June funeral for your family."

We've never seen anything like this in 3+ generations.

I offer this post to you as as an extra line of debate/reason for you, when you next talk with your daughter.

I got your 6 on this- I want your daughter (and your fam) to be safe.

arch: I wish the best for you and your family. I know you're under enormous pressure right now. Realities such as these have a way of putting personal beefs and grudges into perspective.

Be safe, hold your fam close.
Make Your Daughter Listen To You... through any means necessary

At this moment in History, it's the most loving thing you can do in your lifetime. I hate that this is our reality right now.

TRULY all my best,
clem.

I am just astonished at how some businesses are handling things right now.

I have received a ton of emails from every business I ever had any association with. Tonight I got one from Best Buy's CEO. This is the incredible part:

"As for our employees, let me start by saying this: We will not make any employee work if they aren’t comfortable doing so. Further, if an employee is sick or needs to take care of their children home from school, we are paying them. Additionally, with our reduced hours and less staff in the stores, we are paying affected employees for their regularly scheduled hours."

That's really a great way to handle their employees!

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

As part of our weekly routine, we will patronize local establishments with carry-out, drive-through, and curbside pickup.

Our hope is to help all our neighbors weather this storm, so we can all pick up and move forward... stronger, smarter, and more unified .

____________

A year or two ago, someone posted a thread that asked: "What would it take to unify America?" I suggested that it would take something as catastrophic as 9/11.

I guess that time is now.
I guess we'll see if I was right.

That video is aggravating ... we’ve all been there before as a young, naive person (heck, I still have my moments of stupidity). But a lot of people don’t realize the big picture of OTHERS being affected.

Like, I get it: I probably won’t die of corona, even if I have a severe case. BUT, my parents or grandparents or neighbors may be ..

Ordered my set yesterday even though I just got mine cut the day before.

I've watched this thing closely, daily, since pretty much mid-January. Every morning for those weeks, I've gotten up and checked the Johns Hopkins map to see what had changed. It used to be that I'd get up and while I was sleeping, the day had started with 150, 300 or 500, or 800 new cases worldwide. The last several days I've woken up and checked and there have been 6500+ new cases, already.

The numbers will be reaching mind-boggling level, soon.

Italy is talking that their hospitals up in Lombardy will no longer be able to accept patients, soon. None. They have already begun having to truck bodies out of Bergamo to other areas because the morgues there cannot keep up. Now, most all of Western Europe is tipping over into the same mess Italy is in.
