Cleveland, OH - Cleveland Cavaliers guard Shannon Brown was beaten up outside of West 6th street's 'Liquid' bar Saturday evening. Brown is claiming assault - but so are the bar bouncers. It all started with an argument over - baseball caps! Link

So...recap from craption news...
Baseball caps are against the dress code at Liquid...
He said since he's a Cavs player, they're allowed...
Problems start as he gets to the club's lower level...
He is resisting the bouncers, and gets tasered...
Is told to "be cool" while on the ground, to which he responds, "I can't"
Larry Hughes watches the entire incident...

Well, it's nice to know Shannon Brown's a bright guy...

Well I see we have another bonehead on that team.
No wonder the NBA sucks.
It is a league full of that garbage.

No...the thread was on a Cavs player. The rest was simply my opinion on the NBA.
You can watch the NBA and like it all you want. I choose not to because it is full of elements I don't enjoy.....from commissioner to players.

It's not a matter of being squeeky clean... it's a matter of degree.

You choose not to watch because of certain elements that exist? Do those elements not exist in the NFL?

Some not at all, others to tolerable levels.
The biggest thing is the NBA rig factor...and that opinion was formed before their recent problems with crooked refs.
The draft lottery is a clear indication the league knows teams fixed games.
The whole Michael Jordon retirement deal was a 'sham" created by Stern. Everybody and their brother knows Jordon was gambling and the retirement was really a suspension....but it can't be proven at this point, so it was a retirement.
That is when I quit watching the NBA.
What a joke.

I had never heard about this theory. Certainly not disagreeing with it, just never heard anything like that.

I've never heard of that before myself. But it does seem to hold water. This is MJ. That sounds like something that could very possibly have happened.
How in the world can you fix something... If you don't know how it's supposed to work?

It's a lot of the same type of conspiracy thinking that Peen is posting about with Frye and RAC
Sorry Peen had to...
I've heard the same 'rumors' about Jordan... personally I don't really believe them... and don't really care

i don't see how one guy makes the entire league bad...
i mean, why doesn't that work with the nfl? double standard?
the nba is fine... the spurs are a clear indication of that, if the league was "fixed" the spurs wouldn't have won all those titles...
the good still outweighs the bad heavily when you talk about guys who have character issues...
