So how will that help them on election day if they have no car and the closest polling station is 50 miles away?

Why do we have appendixes? Why is grass green? Don't know, wasn't what we were talking about.

When it comes to people having the right and the access to vote, I think we should be looking at things in their totality rather than trying to parce it up.

I know that it's pretty inconvenient to look objectively at how hard southern republicans have made it much more different for poor and black communities to vote, but it's a very real thing.

and BTW, that "moving the goal post" line is usually just a convenient way of dodging a very real issue that one doesn't want to face. wink

I'm not dodging anything. I'm glad you think we should be talking about something different, but you're not the internet police. For the third time...

WE WEREN'T TALKING ABOUT THAT.

I know you like to force people into a different conversation, not working today bro. Pound salt or keep up you're tired, childish narrative ~ your choice.

Maybe, if they were smart, they could have monthly buses to the BMVs. It would probably be much more economical than TV ads, and let's be real, these people can't possibly afford TVs and cable anyway.

I think this is just something else for Libs to whine about.

Well damn. 20 people in Harlem. Proves everything right?

Facts simply don't matter even when they are Trump's own facts from Trump's on fact finding investigation .... the fear mongering and the xenophobia and the frothing at the mouth that can be stirred up by lying about this sort of stuff is what the Trump faithful desire. I mean the facts are there yet somehow this is a hot button that gets Trump supporters going as if it's an important topic.

The showing of ID is to prove who you are, to deter someone from claiming to be someone else and voting, possibly multiple times.

In some places a utility bill with name and address are sufficient, I guess they assume you wouldn't possess one if you weren't the person on the bill, so I wonder if that means they only take mailed copies, not home printed copies.

100 years ago gangsters paid people to vote for their guy in local elections... Nobody is paying anybody to vote now or nationally that I know of. And the facts do not support the claim to the point of denying millions the right to vote. You've been lied to...

So is not a problem because they check ID making it harder to do, or was it not a problem before,or was it a problem before and we just never had a way to verify it? wink

Good luck finding anyone other than me to respond to your post. I've shouting about this to the rafters, but the only thing folk want to talk about is ID's.

Well, my mom in law doesn't have an id. She used to drive but at 87, her license expired. She was born and raised in Ohio.

You would probably be surprised by the number of folks that don't have nor need a Government ID of any kind..

Will they acccept a Medicare card,, if so, she's good.

Here's the odd thing about it. When you get a drivers license with a new address, utility bills or any government mail transactions are proof of your new residence. Yet in order to vote, they're not good enough to prove residence. I find that odd.
