I saw an article a few hours ago on testing in a single homeless shelter in Boston. Hundreds of positive tests and ALL were asymptomatic. There is another study that was done on wastewater in Boston that suggests they have exponentially more positive cases than their official number of 500.

My guess is school is done for the year in Ohio. I would hope so. Texas just cancelled remainder of the school year. Virtual learning only to continue.

There is a county in California that did some pretty extensive antibody testing-and I was actually pretty amazed what was reported.
Roughly 2-4% percent of the general population had the antibodies which would denote that at some point they had the virus-And the number they came up with would be approximately 50 times the known Covid positives for that county

I just need to comment that the wastewater that they are discussing is on the influent side of the treatment plant. It's one of the ways to find it, but that is a pretty tough chore because there are so many things in the influent. No chance on the effluent side, all waste water is disinfected prior to discharge. No chance of virus.

This things has been here for however long and a tremendous amount of people have had it whether asymptomatic, with illness and yes, even deaths untested and written off as the regular seasonal influenza. All this leading to many having the antibodies which are stifling the expected surge and why the chances of a huge recurrence of infected folks could never materialize. We are ramping up surgeries as of Monday. Not alot but an increase over the emergency only procedures they'd been doing. I'm hearing May 1 they are bringing EVERYONE back on line and outside of distancing and masks are moving towards a business as usual state. No confirmation on that though. That place gets pretty full with patients and families when at 100% but I'm sure visiting restrictions will apply. And away we go...

This virus is well known to have asymptomatic and mild symptom people. For the most part the only people getting tested are the very sick or people with comorbiditites. So its probably running rampant under reported in the population.

What the hell is it, by the way? Comorbitiy is basically like a secondary cndidtion... for example if you have a primary diagnosis of obesity you may have a comrbidity of diabetes or hypertension

From a science perspective a virus is not difficult to kill.. it has to be in a wet environment.
A little bleach, warm day, uv light, even soap and water can kill it... the problem is preventing transmission from human to human.

when people including the prez said a while ago about it going away when it gets warm, I looked up a couple articles I could find and the thinking was the scientists believe that the virus would go away in the heat-except for one problem. Most people now work and live in air conditioned spaces and the virus could still thrive in work and home environment spaces that had conditioned air
I just kept an eye on equatorial and southern hemisphere infection rates. There is plenty of evidence that warmer weather just really isn't going to matter much. If you want to avoid it, you have one option: Antarctica.

GC. So I heard this thing on a, some sort of broadcast and I figure, Oh, we're not in this together we're all on our own.
But then, it got repeated, way more often than necessary.
there is a sign, and ya know it's as if there is a person with a bullhorn, and ya walk away from that and you go to cross the, uhh crosswalk in the street corner
and a bus goes by and it says
" we're not in this together you're all on your own"
and the school kids, in the schools, We'll I guess it's Offline now a days, would all get their school work, it would say, We're not in this together you're all on your own"
and if you get past the bus, and start across the street, the little don't walk sign would be flashing
"Hey don't forget, you're not in this together you're all on your own"
And you hear that repeated about a hundred thousand times, and you start to think, Hey, "We're not in this together we're all on our own"
And then someone says, Hey Wait wait wait.
Tell them!
"We're all in this together" you're not on your own.
Oh, and it's like the band playing on as the titanic sinks all over again.
No worries, though,
Someone told me "not to panic" one time.
If they had said it a hundred times, I'd be alarmed.

The prison I work in has like 150 inmates that were positive as of yesterday. The scary part is the state of ohio not issuing the proper ppe to the staff. The prison population is about to explode with positives in the coming week. I think half the staff are going to end up positive also.
Being overweight, having high blood pressure, and some minor heart issues, and a daughter that has really bad asthma, it’s got me scared to go to work. Got tested 3 days ago still waiting for the results.

Things are so messed up I’ve thought seriously about quitting and cashing in my 28 years in OPERS, $214,000. But losing 30 percent of that makes me really think hard. Serious stress going on. A job just isnt worth it, if I die I die, but I don’t want my wife and kid to die.
